Green and gold movie review recommend go see it in theaters if you can might be a little pricier because it’s a fathom event and it’s not every day plane. It did get two weekends of play while it was for fathom event through the Super Bowl. It might still be in theaters. It’ll probably be out of theaters by Presidents’ Day.
That said is worth of you. You don’t need to be a fan of the Packers or Wisconsin tonight to like this movie. It’s got authentic Farms authentic characters. There is kind of one stretch of disbelief with a joke that turns into an interest free loan, but that might be the way things are in rural America at least to Wisconsin.
As such, this is a nice simple slice of Americana. It’s also got nice acting and performances by characters actors like Craig T Nelson and M Emmet Walsh . Madison Lawlor also has a nice role with some character arc her little tiny bits of narration. I am not a big fan of, but it is a way to get us into the story and moving which is a little bit of the budget constraint. This movie does have some budget constraints as shown by use of license footage instead of actually filming inside a stadium There’s an accident that happens. That’s very simplified, but these are kind of minor quibbles.
Before the movie as playing with fathom events, there was a talk with the filmmakers about how a studio did wanna come in and do a bigger budget, but they would’ve have to move filmmaking out of Wisconsin, which the filmmakers did not want to do and that’s admirable and using authentic farms and animals and equipment and actors in Wisconsin that’s nice and it does work for the Film.
As such another aspect to the budget limitations is there is a blatant product placement for Culver’s. It’s kind of funny one aspect out of place. You also see Culver’s on the poster and there’s a QR code at the end of the movie which again it’s a minor quibble if that’s all you need to do for the Film then that’s worth it and justified. Well it would’ve been nice to see actually Filming inside the stadium and some other aspects. The choices are good. The story is good and you don’t have to be in Wisconsin tonight to enjoy it. The ending also makes sense, but it might not be what you necessarily think It will be .
so the writing has a little surprises up its sleeve .
all in all, I’d recommend
you might need to catch up on streaming or you might need to go to the website and buy the film.
Since Steeler downside of not having the studio backing is distribution is a lot harder and with fathom the fathom events don’t stay in theaters usually for more than one night with this actually played for 10+ days and might still be in a few theaters.
It started out at 921 theaters for its first weekend and then it’s second weekend dropped to 157 (daily theater count is not consistent)
by presidents’ Day weekend it might be out of theaters completely.
