I think John Cena's chinese is actually better- no offense- his chinese just isn't that bad for a foreigner and idk if its because of emriu's voice but some of the tones were a bit off. I mean its no comparison really- John Cena is professionally taught by some expensive private tutor and emiru learned how to count to ten over 15 years ago. I just find it interesting how John Cena is the benchmark for bad chinese
Spoke half chinese, half English in grade school. Went home and started speaking broken Chinese in front of my mom (like i was literally translating English grammar structure into Chinese), proceeds to get ass whooped for being bad at Chinese, now speak perfect English and mandarin.
I'm from PH and when i was 4 i moved to Spain, right before I started to remember things clearly. It's weird because I have memories from before arriving to Spain where i was still thinking in bicol/tagalog. After arriving to Spain and learning spanish, my brain swaped into thinking totally in spanish. Now I somewhat understand bicol/tagalog but without speaking it a single bit myself.
@@Edgarivan3000 not.. really, some words are the same because they are taken from spanish but the language is totally different. And only a specific part of PH speaks somewhat spanish, i'm not from that part so i don't really know. The country knows more English than Spanish
@@firstnamelastname8790 yeah but the first few years are still rough for a lot of people though because there's a lot of words as a kid that you only remember in English and a lot you only remember in Spanish. Eventually with enough practice in English just by going to an english school you'll never have to use Spanish again but those early years you'll still go back to Spanish from time to time.
@@gilsercrow3590 what??? I just said that me and plenty of people I know spoke it with their parents/family and that was enough. I promise you, those who grow up with Spanish only forget it because they stopped practicing LOL
It's easier to get the pronunciation correct if you say it slower, but people can get the si and shi or ci and chi mixed up too. Honestly mandarin with pinyin is actually one of the easier language to know to say it correctly (but recognizing the actual chinese character itself is probably not though).
My mum and dad spoke like 3-4 dialects of Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and a little Hokkien) aswell as English and Portuguese in combination so as a kid I knew a little phrases in each one, but I cannot speak any of them fluently except English lmaoo, also funnily enough my mother is 100% Chinese but can only speak a little Chinese and the only languages she's fluent in is English and her native tongue Portuguese. (She maybe has some Portuguese blood, but my grandparents definitely look 100% Chinese, but both were born in either Portugal or Macau and I'm not sure about my great grandparents if they had a little Portuguese DNA.) My father however is Timorese (I'm not exactly sure if he's 100% Timorese or if he has some Chinese DNA but he's very fluent in multiple Chinese dialects and there are Chinese-Timorese people that exist so maybe my father's side of family and my grandparents consist of them.) So yeah I had the potential of being a GIGACHAD polyglot if you would consider Chinese dialects as separate languages which I personally think technically does since they each are pretty unique and different, some with much more changes than others.
Why are people so weird when it comes to Chinese? Like someone speaks Chinese and people all go Bing Chilling, John Cena, Shein, Temu, listing everything semi related to Chinese. Like why? People don't seem to do it with other languages like Korean or Japanese.
I can't fathom Emiru being capable of bilingual communication... she seems chaotic and hardly grasping 1 language lol... also Mandarin and Japanese counting to 10 has some similar sounding numbers. The heck
John Cena Chinese lmao, not far off
zhong xina!
It's worse than John Cena's Chinese lol
+100 social credits
John Cena's pronunciation of tones is better, not gonna lie
John cena speaks better Chinese lmao he actually can
At this point it’s just emiru counting to ten
And poorly too
yeah... my girlfriend is from China, and I've been learning chinese for years now and she did not sound good.
@@Knights0fBlood my girfren frum xina 🤓
@@Knights0fBlood You learning Chinese is relevant...but what's the girlfriend got to do with it? Or does she speak in Mandarin to you?
@@360Fov shes from China and speaks it fluently, im around it constantly with her parents and her and I've been learning it for the last few years

Both the tones and the consonants were way off. Can't even bring myself to listen to it for a second time
totally, the last SHI! made my skin crawl
John Cena's tones are terrible though
As a Chinese speaker, I can confirm. The pronunciation is quite hard for people who are not from Chinese speaking countries
Agreed. John Cena's Chinese is actually really good for a foreigner.

That's what I did and many others, you don't lose it that way

In her case, the with or without 'h' is actually a minor problem. her problem was that she couldn't even get the tones of 1-10 right.
Asian dad: No. That's BOYdarin, you speak like a child.
As a westerner, if you can master the 3rd tone in Chinese, you master like 40% of Chinese pronunciation. Instant credibility.
lil bro is always there to serve his queen
similar thing happened to me as a half korean. immigrated to america when I was 5 and then forgot all of my korean. sucks. i have to relearn it now.

Im chinese but my parents speak and taught me a rarely spoken or unpopular type of chinese as my first language 😔
Sounds like you were taught a rare dialect, congrats!
