This brings back memories I had a VW Beetle when I was younger. I had it during HS and College and even when I was in Cosmetology School. I actually liked the car sometimes I do miss it. I have a Jeep Wrangler Sahara now.
Tried a 2013 manual 2.5 Beetle and a 1.8t manual, 2015 The acceleration is superb on the 1.8t, it's much more tunable. However..I just fell in LOVE with the 2.5 sound and feel. It never stops revving, it pull very adequately bit it FEELS so awesome I would choose that engine over a 1.8at or 2.0L TSI. Manual is definitely a game changer though, the automatic is sluggish
Hey bit random but in looking into buying one of these this weekend and at the start i was thinking it looked familiar and sure enough it did youre in my necj of the woods rn kinda weird seeing on here.
2:33 The engine of the passat is a different one, its a vr5. The engine of the 2012 Beetle is a R5 engine, i think the R5 engine sounds awesome and also better
Hey, i think i have that car. My bug is the same 2.5, its the same color, same buttons, same rims on it and everything. I bought it used with 47k mikes on it. Idk but i think i own the car you filmed this in
I have a 2012 2.5 with a manual transmission with 200k miles and it still runs like new. Most common problem is the PCV valve leaking but its an easy fix, just a new valve cover which is very easy to DIY. I also have the factory clutch still in at that many miles, though I am sure within the next few years I will need to replace it lol. Something else I'll mention is the sunroof model has this notorious whistling noise on the highway, where apparently a seal goes bad and "the whole roof needs placed" according to vw. There's other fixes for that though. I have an exhaust system on mine and it sounds fucking incredible lol. Overall, it's a great car, would highly recommend one with a 2.5 and no sunroof.
I have been taking my 98 beetle to the track for quite a while. No one ever questionned my masculinity and even better than that, I dont care. The Beetle is one of those cars that bring people together and youll notice how everyone makes theirs fit their personality! Beetles are life, Beetles are love

For me Personally, it sounds Viper related, and feels like a replacement of the 1973 Super Beetle.

What dealership did you purchase it from?
@@Carguy1999Reviews we got mine from a Boniface Heirs in Florida. It only had 2 users when we got it and had around 47k miles on it
Do you still recommend the beetle 2.5? Has it been fairly reliable?
vw 2.5 is the one of the most reliable vw engine , can easily last 200k miles. I know someone who has almost 600k on his 2.5.
I have a 2013 Fender Edition w/ the 2.5. It only has 8,700 miles on it, so I'm probably not the best source. But it's been fantastic!
