Markarth is such a tough place to decorate and glamorize. The modder did a remarkable job! Inigo loves you so much he cleans for you...You have such a committed chum.
Enjoyed this showcase very much. Dwemer is not my favorite architecture by a long shot, but this one I really like. My favorite part, "it's my fantasy game," - really couldn't agree more. Thanks.
This has always been one of my favorites, Markarth is probably my favorite city in Skyrim and I love having my own little town not far outside it. And it’s so much work to build it all but it feels so rewarding in the end and there’s the cheat chest of course if you don’t wanna build it all again for the eighteenth time. And that view! Love the mod and love the author’s other mods.
I used this home years ago on Xbox One when they first added mods for console. Such a great mod to keep the game interesting late game and give you something big to work towards. Would love to see modders continue to make buildable settlements like this one, especially given the unique location.
This is a very lovely player home. I do agree with you... Those barren trees need to be changed. It's too depressing. This certainly is right up my alley. It's a large compound with guards, spaces for children, clickable buttons, and even vendors.
Another great mod from an excellent creator. I really like the Dwemer aesthetic as steampunkish awesome but I am very glad the mod comes with nice comfy furniture. If my adventures in the ruins are any indicator I am very certain the Dwemer did not die out but rather they left on a pilgrimage to find a decent nights's sleep on a less firm "mattress" and to get relief from that itching, burning feeling that is the natural result from sitting on cold , hard stone chairs. This mod addresses that concern so have the Silverstead hiring department on the alert for applicants of slightly shorter stature and a talent for growing facial hair who are looking for positions in mechanical maintenance and general IT/robotics. If we can take any lessons from RL we can assume the future Dwemer conquest will not be blood and glory but warranty repair work requisition delays, hours on hold and endless unanswered calls for IT support that will bring Tamriel to its knees!
My current SE playthrough is the first without this mod installed since forever. Replaced by The Scarlett as a staging area for all those Wench...er... followers that are yet to be placed in their proper homes. Personally I think this is a brilliant representation of nords moving into long standing (even though I have to build it myself) Dwemer ruins. With a bit of personal touches by the player using the console and/or other mods ( insert ivy and cats here), it becomes such a warm and lively hamlet that fits into the world quite easily... and the views.
I totally agree with you on imagining it not so much us building it from scratch from a lore perspective but rather us claiming, securing, and cleaning and then building already built Dwemer ruins.
This is quite spectacular! I'm with you, I could definitely use more plants and greenery inside, but everything is very well made and proportioned, I think. I do love the idea of building a town as well as an estate, and this is the first Dwemer style one I've seen!
I hate the Markarth area but this home makes me want to go. I agree that it could use Ivy and green trees but, it is Markarth. I like that I have a place for all my goodies and the author did manage to make a dwarven home that did not feel cold and noisy. I get why the machines are noisy but who wants that At Home. This is a real contender. Thanks so much
Wow! The effort and skill the mod author put into this mod is extraordinary. I quite like player home mods that allow you to build settlements. Makes the game world more alive and vibrant. Wouldn't it be interesting, though, to return to your settlement one day and have to deal with a Falmer infestation of your home? A little surprise the author has hidden deep within the coding. It might trigger, it might not.
@@FebrithDarkstar I'll take spiders any day, if it means I don't have to face off with chaurus or chaurus hunters! Those give me the creeps. Nasty, spitty mauling buggers. There's always one prowling the marshes of Morthal.
The Markarth style is actually something I'm not so keen on - that been said. I think the mod author made a clever job by using a few additional wooden elements and carpets, adding ocher (ocker... ocher? Confusing how similar words are spelled in different languages) and brown to the overall stone grey which is usually accompanied by gold brass that gives dwarven homes a very cold atmosphere. And on top of it and most notably although repetitive, there are those plant pots that lend the place a bit green. It is right in your face but sort of subtle and balances out the color palette. And the lighting is not so dim than actual Markarth. I'd say the place could use a bit more decorative elements, maybe a bit more wood here and there, a few more different plants.
I thought a bit funny to hear Feb comment on how long it takes to build, I do the same thing. When you hear it though it makes one think of the author and how trivial our time spent is by comparison.
Beyond this being an absolutely fantastic home, there are only 2 things I would have liked to have seen added to the mod. One, the ability to lay stone pathways to your home and a stone market square, two, the ability to uproot all the surrounding dead trees and replace them with live blossoming ones. Other than that, perfect home mod.
I love the idea of building this Dwemer-type home. I'm thinking Kriemin's Khajiit Rito Kalshan will come in handy because we can put some pretty ivy & such on the walls. Maybe a placeable paintings mod, too?
My biggest problem with this mod is that it fights with his other mods, that is, like the Immortals of Highlander There Can Be Only One! Which is a pity as I could totally see having both this one, the one by the Rift, and then the Scarlet all together. My other concern is thematic - the architecture is dwarven but you, a human, is building it from scratch. In some ways I kind of wish there was say bandit and monster infested ruins of Dwarven make that you have to clear, secure, repair, and refurbish. I also wish there were actual roads between the sections rather than stone steps and then dirt paths, but that is just me. Really though, the lack of the ability to use this with his other mods is the biggest gripe I have about this. That said, ignoring all such things for the moment, I LOVE the architecture style. For reasons that would make an epic post the standard Dwarven architecture in fantasy just calls to me (personally, I like the society of the elves and the architecture of the dwarves, lol). So seeing this just leads me to give it ten stars off the bat for its brilliant design. I also love how wide and tall the spaces are, nobody would feel like they are in a dusty old cave and such and that is brilliant. Thumbs up on this video, totally love it. :)
Absolutely I've had at least 4 of his mods all installed at the same time, Skyfall, Draven Manor, the Scarlett & this one and had no issues - they use a lot of the same files but you just choose which one takes precedence - Vortex sorts it out for me!
@@FebrithDarkstar Ooh, okay, awesome. I'm new to the whole modding skyrim scene and so when Vortex was like "there are issues' I sort of went "oh, okay, let me choose one". But if I just have to say one is a bit higher priority to the others but they all work then cool. Of course that's bad as I now have to decide which of his mods do I want to add and such. Options, so many options. By the way, as an aside, I am really sad that there are no hearthstyle versions of Proudspire Manor from Solitude. I would totally love to make that place my own in a buildable way. Same with the player home in Markarth. (It seems so unloved.)
