I like the concept of DLCs though. One takes part in a traditional setting - signifying the past. The other takes part in a advanced facility with artificially made biomes - signifying the future.
The four top students remind me of your in game friends. First you have Lacey, your guide into Blueberry Academy who might be your anaogue. You have a chef with a somewhat fiery disposition, a somewhat distant tech themed person, and finally a top student who might be a "champ" of sorts.
Everytime I see the chef and her pan I keep having Brock's "fryingpan into a drying pan" echoing in my head like some sort of horror movie and I'm not sure if I should be scared or in awe
I love that with every modern pokemon game having a twist villian, we all suspect anyone to be evil if they look or do anything suspicious in the slightest

It's actually a bit different (though it sound similar), Lacey is タロ while Urashima Taro is タロウ. Currently it's more suggested that her name is based on the Taro plant, as Pokemon characters are commonly named after plants

Maybe in an attempt to replicate the terastal phenomenon the Director of the Blueberry Academy found and captured Terapagos and harnessed his power to create artificial tera crystals which allow the use of the gimmick on the floating island Academy which would explain how were actually able to tera there when it's been said it's something exclusive to Paldea and we clearly aren't in Paldea Another interesting thing is in the Teal Mask trailer we don't actually see anyone tera which could add to the theory. Maybe wherever it's located the legendary Pokemon there somehow is creating his own version of tera that involves masks instead of hats, or maybe there's just no tera at all there but I'd highly doubt it

For the DLC, I feel like it's gonna be a repeat of the Sword and Shield DLC where we could go to Kitakami at any point in the main story but the Blueberry Academy is more of a post-game type area.
I have to say the theory of Cyrano making the academy because of some "post-apocalyptic-whatever" is actually an interesting one I could believe. All I could draw from his design is that maybe he's from Kalos, given he has a Honedge evo. line scarf, 3 pokemon that were introduced in Kalos, and his name "Cyrano" reminds me of Cyrano de Bergerac, a famous French play, but that's all my personal speculation.
The thing that catches my eye the most about the Indigo Disk is the Terrarium and its biomes. It reminds me of BDSP’s Grand Underground, specifically the parts with the different biomes allowing you to capture older Pokémon.
Idk if im going crazy or something but it looks like the shot that shows the whole terrarium underwater there are some shapes look like sea turtle fins. Or my eyes might just be playing tricks on me
I personally don’t think Cyrano will be bad but I do think he will be at least a battle and his ace will be Aegislash and maybe his theme if he has one will be swords and shields or at least weapons but whenever I get the DLC I will be looking forward to what the Indigo Disk has to offer

Does anyone remember in the DLC when peony was revealed to be chairman Rose's brother? And it turns out he was a nice guy in the end. This may be a reverse situation of that because in the initial story of scarlet and violet we all thought that clavell was the bad guy because of the team star thing. Just as we had assumed that chairman Rose was a good guy. I can't wait to see what this is going to turn out to be
Director cyrano is a smooth man and seems cool but… Lacey is an angel that really charmed me at first sight❤❤ This is the second time a girl character from Pokémon charmed me to see her as a sweet and pure angel. The first was Liko and she still charms me🥰🥰🥰

It would be cool if the Terarium allows players to encounter regional variants from Alola and Galar. As far as Lacey goes, I initially thought that it will be neat to battle her. Then I remembered "Top Champion" Geeta and how she "is incapable of holding back in battle". We'll have to wait and see whether she's all talk or if she can also walk the walk.

really hope there's some kind of antagonist thing in the dlc. it's a bit boring to have had a lack of anything major during the story of Scarlet and Violet without any nefarious characters
The major story had two sets of villains. The old school administration that had framed Star and driven them away though a mass victim blaming campaign was pretty damn awful, even though we only ever see one of them in person and he didn't even merit his own unique character model. And then the professor who would have endangered the entire region and probably the rest of the world for the sake of "Paradise", the threat remaining long after their death, hard-wired into their much kinder AI double to override them and use them as a mindless weapon. Lots of off-screen villains with very intense on-screen impact
I think the website stated that you have to beat the whole main game to access the Indigo Disk dlc (idk if the Ace Academy Tournament is counted in that statement). So by default the trainers will likely be around Sada/Turo’s levels at minimum. I just hope every major fight has a full team.

I wish swsh had a good story. They had no right butchering the games like this when they had so much potential. I wish they could be remade and I don't mean the traditional remake. I think Rose could have been a cool villain but they made him a complete idiot. Eternatus has such a cool design and the rest of the game just doesn't do it justice. I also wish it got levitate instead of pressure. I'm just not even mad at gamefreak... just let down how swsh should have been some of the best games. Maybe not as good as emerald or platinum but at least A tier and not all the way down to the bottom.
They just needed more time I think, there were hints at something good but it was way to rushed. Oh a giant power plant in the distance that could act as a dungeon? Let Leon handle it! Oh Leon gers lost easily and that easily could've been the catalyst to explore the plant and learn a bit more about the shadyness of macro cosmos? A big town controlled by the evil team? Let's go in a straight path to where we need to go with no puzzles or literally anything other than a few battles. They could've done a lot but most of the game is just a straight path with some battles. Characters have weird goals, the only thing I'll give swsh is it had some really good customization options.

Im still personally greatly upset that we didnt get to revisit kalos, rather than having the teal mask serve as the "past" dlc we shouldve had it take place in southern kalos and learn more about the war 3000 years ago, maybe even meet some legacy characters hmmm? Think about how awesome it would have been to met like AZ or someone after 10 years since XY. We havent seen any at all since gen 7. Just such a wasted opportunity to make the pokemon world feel more connected.
Honestly, I just want some more information about the Professor. I felt like the game left so much hanging about their character; it doesn’t help that the things they left behind can be interpreted into many different ways besides they liked the past/future so much, made the tera orb, and met the 3rd legendary. Even though they were the final boss of SV, they didn’t really give off actual Pokémon villain vibes, like there’s something more sinister hiding behind them, pulling the actual strings. I just want them to be interpreted more than “ew it’s my son I like silly motorbike from dreams more *dies cutely*”.
the professors are a little more complex than just hating their son and liking time lizards, there’s no need to turn them into pawns of something else pulling the strings
I wish they’d (Gamefreak) stop villainising rich people. That’s such a negative portrayal of stereotypes. Rich people can be amazing. & people want to be rich, yet they hate rich people. Pretty hypocritical if you ask me.
I find there’s a staggering lack of self-awareness when large companies run by rich people start going off about how large companies run by rich people are evil. What’s the message of your product? That I shouldn’t have bought your product to begin with?
They really don't though. The games have tons of rich people who aren't evil. The professors of each region tend to be quite rich and we don't see an evil professor until this game. Most champions are wealthy. Then there's characters like Mr Stone, who helps you a lot. Clavell is probably rather well off. Penny and Nemona are very rich. Ortega is implied to be insanely wealthy and while he's a gremlin he's not evil at all.
I wonder if Indigo Disk’s terrarium could have to do with the copium fan theory that the future paradox Pokémon are all lazy and uninspired robots with repetitive names because some far future extinction event wiped out all biological Pokémon. Perhaps blueberry academy is trying to prevent that from happening?

Heck it's my headcanon that in the distant era the future paradoxes come from, Paras have evolved into a hive mind that may or may not have devoured Arceus. They're doing better than ever.

If you ask a question about either group, like "How did they evolve?" or "What went into their designs?", you're more likely to get a proper theory if the question was on the past paradoxes and a dismissal if it was on the future ones.

Im still personally greatly upset that we didnt get to revisit kalos, rather than having the teal mask serve as the "past" dlc we shouldve had it take place in southern kalos and learn more about the war 3000 years ago, maybe even meet some legacy characters hmmm? Think about how awesome it would have been to met like AZ or someone after 10 years since XY. We havent seen any at all since gen 7. Just such a wasted opportunity to make the pokemon world feel more connected.

Honestly, I just want some more information about the Professor. I felt like the game left so much hanging about their character; it doesn’t help that the things they left behind can be interpreted into many different ways besides they liked the past/future so much, made the tera orb, and met the 3rd legendary. Even though they were the final boss of SV, they didn’t really give off actual Pokémon villain vibes, like there’s something more sinister hiding behind them, pulling the actual strings. I just want them to be interpreted more than “ew it’s my son I like silly motorbike from dreams more *dies cutely*”.
I want to see the other professor, the one who left when Arven was a baby
the professors are a little more complex than just hating their son and liking time lizards, there’s no need to turn them into pawns of something else pulling the strings

I wish they’d (Gamefreak) stop villainising rich people. That’s such a negative portrayal of stereotypes. Rich people can be amazing. & people want to be rich, yet they hate rich people. Pretty hypocritical if you ask me.
I find there’s a staggering lack of self-awareness when large companies run by rich people start going off about how large companies run by rich people are evil. What’s the message of your product? That I shouldn’t have bought your product to begin with?
They really don't though. The games have tons of rich people who aren't evil. The professors of each region tend to be quite rich and we don't see an evil professor until this game. Most champions are wealthy. Then there's characters like Mr Stone, who helps you a lot.
Clavell is probably rather well off. Penny and Nemona are very rich. Ortega is implied to be insanely wealthy and while he's a gremlin he's not evil at all.

I wonder if Indigo Disk’s terrarium could have to do with the copium fan theory that the future paradox Pokémon are all lazy and uninspired robots with repetitive names because some far future extinction event wiped out all biological Pokémon. Perhaps blueberry academy is trying to prevent that from happening?

@@BJGvideos Yeah, we're only allowed to speculate about the past paradoxes; any sort of theory for the future ones that isn't along the lines of "They ran out of ideas" is Violet players coping. Fair, right?

Heck it's my headcanon that in the distant era the future paradoxes come from, Paras have evolved into a hive mind that may or may not have devoured Arceus. They're doing better than ever.

If you ask a question about either group, like "How did they evolve?" or "What went into their designs?", you're more likely to get a proper theory if the question was on the past paradoxes and a dismissal if it was on the future ones.
