@@keshavkalsi4359 About time someone said it. This movie is pure cringe. Funny how most of the GVM fans are conveniently ignoring it and defending the morality angle.
I don't understand people takes this as infidelity... The dialogues were clear... Both of them knew that she didn't mean when she said I love you... She said if you want to say so that you can carry on... Okay I will say it.... She handled it very well... Her husband knows her well... They trust each other...No one said anything about super deluxe... It showed infidelity even 96 they were talking about their past love under one roof...Come on guys... Stop this negativity
Jersy was right in making that conversation with Karthik only if she knows for sure that she will reveal the whole conversation to her husband, and his husband would find nothing wrong in it. Otherwise, she is guilty of infidelity. The right or wrong of an act depends on how it affects the other persons.
Like he said Karthik and Jessi are in that zone where they can do this. Not all can and like he said not everyone can do this. This is a story about Karthik and Jessi. People always expect movies to be only good preachy and should tell good things to society. That brand of movies have a separate space. Guess what all these things both good and bad exist in life. If there are only good things in life we all would be happy and there would be no need for war and stuff. Cinema is a medium where a director needs to tell his story his vision. I believe GVM handled this story just as Jessi handled Karthik...😅
The culture angle is stupid. People should stop watching films with this 'fake' moral lens. Let filmmakers write & film what they want to express. I'm a big fan of vtv but what I find problematic with 'Karthik dial seidha yen' is the bond Karthik and Jessie share right now. It is borderline toxic especially for Karthik. Anyone irrespective of however 'true & eternal' the love is..will move on after a certain time. If they can't then they are obsessed and addicted to the person. Karthik is so emotionally vulnerable even after 10 years of break up. The only way he can get out is cutting off Jessie completely. Jessie knows this too. Even though she wants to be his wellwisher & a friend she is in a way still enjoying the romantic attention from Karthik. He will be ruined & in a mess till she is in contact. The short film is in its way beautiful & has the feels but it's romanticizing & showing 'not being able to move on' as some ideal. The 'happiness' Karthik is getting from glimpses of Jessie after the breakup is like dopamine hit u get from drugs. It makes u desperate & unstable. Karthik can find real happiness only by cutting off Jessie completely. It will be be painful but he'll grow from it like Surya from 'Varanam Ayiram'. This bond with Jessie will also affect his writing. He'll always be stuck in this instability & won't be able to explore other emotions. But they are in a way aware of this toxicity. Jessie says"Namale dha namaku aapu vechutirkom". That is the truth And GVM's writing too feels quite stuck in a rut for a while now. He is just squeezing more out of the stuff he has explored pretty well already. Music & the nostalgia for GVM's old films are the only connecting bridge between the audience & his work now.
I personally dint like the film but I agree with your point People should see movies as movies There are ppl who stay in touch post breakup too watching evry film under moral lens doesn’t make sense
Dude it's just a part of VTV2, we don't know Karthik's trajectory until the film releases. By the way 96, the film most people find super romantic is way more toxic than this short film.
I totally agree with the morality angle. It is not a filmmaker's responsibility to write with moral values. But I beg to differ with respect to borderline toxicity. It is very tricky to define what toxicity is for a person. Especially Karthik here. Take Abhishek Bachchan from Manmazriyan. It is not like he cannot get another girl in his life. But he chose Tapsee even after she cheating on him after marriage. He chose her because he feels that he will be happy with her. Same for Karthik as well, he feels talking and being in touch with Jessie will make him feel happy and he will keep doing that. The growth of a person is very subjective. We cannot measure every other person's growth with the same yardstick.
Relationships are always complex and this what VTV portrayed...on a similar note, I could see that the director is trying here to light up a different dimension from the short clip...GVM is candid and always tries bring the close to real-time stories... As someone said, watch a movie like a movie and don’t get in to it...highly impossible. VTV was a runaway success as the youngster could correlate their relationship status... IMO, our new gen will able to differentiate between toxic lines and friendliness... Karthik as a character should change his approach and shouldn’t stalk at Jessie who is committed...otherwise there is no meaning for the word “Move on”.
@@shrinathkannan Being in touch isn't the problem..yes it will be beautiful but for that both of them should've moved on. If not, it'll ruin the one who still has the feelings. Karthik is still emotionally the same when he was 22. "I miss u" is fine but "I need u, oru ambalaya kekuren..oru ponna venum" these are all actually creepy n shows he hasn't matured emotionally. He is obsessed with Jessie. I didn't feel this with 96 because in that Ram respects Janu's boundaries. Apart from viewing the film from the perspectives of Karthik and Jersy, one should see the movie from Jersi’s husband also. Marriage is a commitment, and if you do not honor that commitment, you are a cheat. Marriage is meaningless unless there is total honesty between a husband and wife. So if Jersy is loyal to her husband, she should reveal the whole conversation to her husband. I think that most of the Indian husbands would be emotionally disturbed to hear suck kind of dialogue between his wife and another man. Jersy was right in making that conversation with Karthik only if she knows for sure that she will reveal the whole conversation to her husband, and his husband would find nothing wrong in it. Otherwise, she is guilty of infidelity. The right or wrong of an act depends on how it affects the other persons. Once you are outside any marriage, you are a free bird, but once you are committed to a marriage contract, there must be 100% transparency between the husband and wife. As far as Karthik is concerned, one cannot justify his talking in that manner to another man’s wife on any ground. Will he take kindly to his wife talking to another man in that way? A hyper-emotive husband will even go to the extent of murdering the man who spoke to his wife that way.
@Dragon Fist I am happy that though the film doesn’t show explicitly, you could draw the inference that Jersey would reveal the whole conversation to her husband, and he, in turn, would appreciate her. I also wish so. You have advised me, “No need for u to explain to anyone what marriage and commitment is.” There is no need for you since you know it already. But there may be others who may need it.
Honestly i did not like this short film...because it is hard being in both the guy's shoes....karthik and roy. Imagine you are karthik and you call your ex who is married now... and now imagine you are roy and find out your wife is talking to her ex...damn!

10 Years Back GVM given us A Beautiful love story called VINNAITHANDI VARUVAYA now he spoiled the movie by making a short film on current scenerio LOCKDOWN as the key with the beautiful characters KARTHIK and JESSIEwhich was too Forceful. Nothing wrong in combining two different ideas but the problem was in EXECUTION. To be frank the SIMBU'S character in the short film was TOO ROMANTIC than being EMOTIONAL. Offcourse he was like that before But everything changed now HIS JOB, HIS MATURITY LEVELS, if he was ROAMING as NOTHING and says the UNWANTED DIALOGUES it would have matched, But now he is GROWN up as a PERSON, as a INDIVIDUAL, HE also mentioned that he COMPLETED 2 MOVIES which tells the Audience that he didn't WASTE HIS LIFE by THINKING about JESSIE and RUINING HIS CAREER, HE ACHIEVED HIS GOALS. Then why that DIALOGUES? He didn't stop like ARJUN REDDY. Because of that particular dialogues the value of KARTHIK got spoiled.

This is one director who knows what’s up! I think he’s my favorite tamil director now.
Loved the film. Gautam Sir, please do what you're doing! And please act more. You have such expressive eyes.
Simply love this man...!!!❤️❤️❤️
its nice to hear goutham talk
Now this is a new feisty avatar of Gautam....I would love to watch this avatar of him with Vetri, mounted on the big screen in a Mafia movie... these guys are gold in front of the camera. Maybe B Ragan should direct them.
Bwr : be like roy
Gvm replies : people be like " sappa da avan " 😂🤣🙊
Translate please...
😂😂😂
GVM😍😍
yay 🎉 According to GVM Jessie and Roy are unhappy ! Some hope that both Karthik and Jessie will be united !
18:20 onwards....Dammmm! Now really can't wait for VTV2.
" Sappa da avan "- Suddenly kaakha kaakha and Vettaiyadu villayadu .... Gautam
#GVM #BR Loved the interview! Sensible questions and sensible answers
Big fan of BR and GVM! Please add subtitles for your non-Tamil viewers for the bits that are in Tamil! Thank you! :)
Great convo. Love gvm more and more.❤
17:31 BR joins "Stuff like that"
Real VTV fans didn't see this as a "Kalla Kadhal" 🤷
Will the Kamal kadhambari story with Suriya happen?
best time to put out bold films, no one can come out and protest now
😘 it's so soo beautiful.. background #brids sounds 🥰👌👌
26:59 lalettan reference😍
Gowtham is not comfortable with this interview i guess...usually he is calm and slow...he speaks fast in this and could sense some anxiousness in this interview....don't you think :)
Wow - Trisha’s reaction in the end with the spoiler alert revealed by GVM is wow
Gautham You nailed it!
Waiting for VTV next part😍
Vtv2 waiting ..💗💗
Wish GVM Sir go for a Vaaranam Aayiram shoot with Suriya Sir thinking about his dad who died almost 12 years back.
Gvm sounds like he's got AutoTune going through his voice
I liked the part on how they all co-ordinated to make this happen :) Nice :)
Who are the actors in VTV2?
Apart from viewing the film from the perspectives of Karthik and Jersy, one should see the
movie from Jersi’s husband also.
You said @10:00 but 9:30?
My fav GVM🔥😊♥️
Honestly i did not like this short film...because it is hard being in both the guy's shoes....karthik and roy. Imagine you are karthik and you call your ex who is married now... and now imagine you are roy and find out your wife is talking to her ex...damn!
He has explained well roy with jessy irukagala illiyanu movie la theriyum so don’t judge
She Will Say ' Roy Kitte Sollithuthan Unkitte Pesune'..So Obviously Roy Knew That She Is Talking To Her Ex..So There Is Ntng Gonna Hurt Him.

You should watch this interview for 100 times so that you can understand the reason of each scenes and dialogues I guess. All the Best
Its a god dam "Movie" it's made out of a Director's imaginative view... OmG stop this drama mama... Why waste time explaining to this clowns... ???
10 Years Back GVM given us A Beautiful love story called VINNAITHANDI VARUVAYA
now he spoiled the movie by making a short film on current scenerio LOCKDOWN as the key with the beautiful characters KARTHIK and JESSIEwhich was too Forceful.
Nothing wrong in combining two different ideas but the problem was in EXECUTION.
To be frank the SIMBU'S character in the short film was TOO ROMANTIC than being EMOTIONAL. Offcourse he was like that before But everything changed now
HIS JOB, HIS MATURITY LEVELS,
if he was ROAMING as NOTHING and says the UNWANTED DIALOGUES it would have matched, But now he is GROWN up as a PERSON, as a INDIVIDUAL,
HE also mentioned that he COMPLETED 2 MOVIES which tells the Audience that he didn't WASTE HIS LIFE by THINKING about JESSIE and RUINING HIS CAREER,
HE ACHIEVED HIS GOALS.
Then why that DIALOGUES?
He didn't stop like ARJUN REDDY.
Because of that particular dialogues the value of KARTHIK got spoiled.
GVM it seems like it’s your love story 😊... if not you wouldn’t talk with so much conviction!!! Nothing wrong with the short story but we can feel how badly you wanted to do this story!!
And BR, didn't know that there was your review on the short film too. Link pls. Could t find it.
Yes me too ...I like 👍 too.
After watching it my feeling was...finally I got the book which I really wanted to read for a long time ago. .. if can I want to continue reading .T Q for GAUTHAM SIR AND KARTHIK DIAL SEYTHA YENN.
Can we not say "she encouraged the conversation to this level" ? She didn't do squat. She picked up the call. Romba "encouraging" actappa.
How many noticed the background...kaada, gun, guitar, coffee, bullet...passport..police cap
He even did in pachaikilli muthucharam where sarthkumar has afair so what is the problem that he done on this shortfilm
There is nothing called tamil kalacharam jessy handled this maturely but i have question why karthik should disturb her and not respecting her decision (but gvm answered that question by saying karthik character is like that... )

I expected character development in this short film and it would have been nice if they had reminisce their past instead of all those unwanted cringey dialogues. I loved vtv because of how relatable and realistic it is.
He dont even have to explain this for all those stupid criticism. Down to Earth. Hatsoff GVM
GVM sir, How could you incorporate it in Ye maya chesave
Good question sir 🤣
Karthik and Jesse get together in the end of YMC, don't think it will work.
Forget their head spaces, their conversation sounds super corny! Kaal la vazhanum, moonavadhu kozhandhai etc...😀 From being an impetuous guy in VTV , Karthik now has another layer - mawkishly sentimental but Jessie remains a pretty mother hen always!
Sir I love gvm
not having any complaints on what you did sir. but you're better than this in building conversations ..
Film to Digital is different. It's moving forward a generation which saved a lot of wasted time and gave lots of options for post but remote shooting...? I don't think so. It honestly feels like a step back. Managing people over call is the worst. It's inefficient and frustrating.
I don't understand why people are talking about culture or affair. They are not having affair. They just talk. Trisha didn't agree or dive into secret affair. It's a simple & nice short film. 💖
That is feeling
Sappa da avan 🔥🔥🔥😹❣️
Ithey maari oru padaththa oru ordinary /new director shoot pannaga na every one will surely shout...... Many are saying this is good are saying because of *gvm*
It is so uncouth of you BR, to start the interview with that question!
