You know what would be a fun idea for a video, or a chat thread? What trends and makeup our mothers (guardians, sisters, family members)used, and what we learned from them. ☺ My grandmother was from the Greatest Generation, and I remember that she never went anywhere without powder and lipstick. She used Ponds cold cream and was meticulous about taking care of her skin. My mother (who will be celebrating her 81st birthday this week!) always more bright, blue-based red, I thought it looked so gorgeous with her fair skin and dark hair. She looked like a young Liz Taylor, only with a sweeter disposition. (My grandmother called it "Brazen Hussy Red"! Lol) Zabrena always looks so gorgeous in bright red lipstck! (She is beautiful in any makeup look, or even without makeup!) 😊 Have a blessed and happy Mother's Day, and I am sending warm thoughts to those of you who don't have anyone to share this special day. 💓💖💕

If you are a fan of satin-finish shadows & have never tried the eyeshadow singles from the brand Coastal Scents, I highly encourage you to try some of their satins. Their formula is very nice. Coastal Scents occasionally runs a 99¢ per shadow sale, so you can sign-up for their email or follow them on IG to know when those are upcoming. I normally gravitate towards more sparkly shadows, but occasionally get in the mood for a satin on the lid, & theirs does not disappoint. They blend nicely with their mattes, & they have a wonderful color selection. I find that reading the reviews also helps me decide which ones are best & gives me more insight into the tones of the colors. 😉👍🏻💕
@@scotzmnswife I was going to say the same! I just ordered some coastal scents and actually enjoy their subtle satin finish. Shimmers now seem to be more pigmented and chunky with lots of fall out. For a subtle day-to-day or office look, the coastal scents work nicely and I love how I don’t get little pieces of glitter fall out on my face.

I just love that you pack so much information into a shorter video. I don’t always have 20-30 minutes but the is so much info packed into this 11ish minute video!! I haven’t tried these and I’ve heard mixed reviews but I may pick up a couple to try.

Was very excited to try the walking on eggs shells as it has been a personal fave since I was 16 (been repurchased so many times over the last 14 years) but I wasn’t too happy with the new version. I still feel like the formula when it was a trio was better.
Well, I'm convinced you can make dust off an old boot look good on your eyes - every dang look was so gorgeous!! I really didn't think I was going to like the warmer-toned quints but you pulled each look off beautifully. Brava!!!

I've been with you since Jet was a little baby so I know your love for that original. I have the Camo-flaunt one and it's such a letdown. I ended up scraping that glitter shade (the middle one) out and I put it in a little pot to use on my nails because that's all it's good for. From their 10 pan palettes, I have the Heart & Sol one and it's become my go-to palette this Spring. It's just so pretty and peachy!
I am recovering from surgery but I remember buying these palettes and I personally did not like them. I feel they smudge. 🤷🏻♀️ Glad they work for you. Well most of them. Lol. Stunning as always 🥰

I love the new Walking On Eggshells! I have a ton of palettes but I swear I could wear that one everyday. It always looks classy and, honestly, expensive du to the subtle combination of textures and colors.
I liked the petalette 5 pan as well! It might just be that I apply it differently or it works better on my eye texture but I liked it! It's not a mind blowing quality but pretty standard for drugstore, I thought!
Yeah, I love that one, too! I think a different application and especially different brushes (not saying high end verses low end, just the density of the brushes she used) would have probably given a better color payoff for her. I absolutely love this palette, just used different brushes and a different application method. Got great color payoff!
Whenever I wear walking on eggshells I get the most compliments on my eye look! It’s one of the cheapest palettes I own- go figure. I want lucky charm though ❤️

I just uploaded a video doing a tutorial on that one specifically and I was so blown away with how quick and easy I could create a glam look. I’ve loved the walking on eggshells for years...but am so disappointed in the new one! The old color story was much more pinky neutral and the new one leans very warm peachy bronze. Just doesn’t work for me. Waa! 😥
I had the walking on eggshells trio. I missed the quad so I was super happy to get the new one and I agree. It’s perfect. One of my daily faves! I’m not as fair as Zabrena and it still works great for me!
I on the other hand can see all the colors from Pedalet on your eyes Zabrena, and I really LIKE IT ON YOU! I think you should give it another chance. It looks much better on you than you think.
I got the walking on eggshells and love it. Have the older version too. Love them both. What is funny is I think I am going to actually buy the petalette one for the very reasons you didn’t like it. I used the Petalette palette on Easter for a pretty Spring look and I did a beautiful smoky purple eye with it. Actually I ended up loving it. The only thing I did find the new formulated Wet N' Wild palettes are very much more powdery than the old formula, totally agree. That is fine if you had a different experience than I did with the petalette palette. Now it is one of my favorite small eyeshadow palettes to use. Love your channel Zabrena.
And here I am thinking I'm the only one to realize previous eyeshadow shades were getting recycled into redesigned packaging then marketed as new. Zabrena....you are the one and only vlogger to point this out. I used to get so excited to see new makeup displays at drugstores---only to have to study the shades so I didn't wind up saddled with five of the exact same shadows....having eventually gotten wise to this cosmetic company trickery. Something which sure did take the fun and spontaneity out of makeup shopping for me.

i feel like i cant seem to find but a few colors (on a good day) that look nice on me one eye shadow that is my favorite and always looks good on me and that loreals 24 hr amber rush. best shadow ever and i believe it can look good on every eye color and skin tone... but you are so good at putting on your eyeshadow that you can wear any color & they all look great on you!
I have all of these pallets from wet and wild besides the walking on eggshells and that's only because of my skin tone I love these pallets even though the one called Paulette is kind of soft and not a dark shadow s color I kind of like it for an everyday look but to each his own 🙃 thank you for the quick review and the details the looks were beautiful on you Z 💋🎨👸🌻😁💕
I'm drawn to purple hues, so I impulse-bought the 5 pan Petalette palette about a week ago. I wanted a small eyeshadow palette to fit in my small to-go makeup bag, and I was so disappointed. I thought the colors were too pale and muddied up when blending. I'm glad to know the other palettes are better quality. Now I know I can pick up one of the other choices and maybe be happy with them.
All of these looks are gorgeous, but the green is definitely the standout! If I didnt have a million tons of makeup already, I would grab a couple of these. Thanks so much for the review! 💜💛💚💙

I liked the look you’re displaying. When wearing makeup to work, it’s more appropriate to appear more muted than bold - at least working with the public. I liked the honest reviews and it’s nice the pallets are coordinated to pick one and done.

The thing i miss about make up, is the lack of satin eyeshadows. I feel that wet & wild are closest to the satin formula x

Walking on Eggshells is a must-have. So versatile for how basic and neutral it is.
I bought this palette just a few weeks ago and couldn’t believe it was just 2.99. I’ve been using it more often than my high-end palettes.

Try using your finger to apply the shimmers. You won't get as much fall out and the colors will be better pigmented. 😊

I had the walking on eggshells trio. I missed the quad so I was super happy to get the new one and I agree. It’s perfect. One of my daily faves! I’m not as fair as Zabrena and it still works great for me!

I on the other hand can see all the colors from Pedalet on your eyes Zabrena, and I really LIKE IT ON YOU! I think you should give it another chance. It looks much better on you than you think.
I got the walking on eggshells and love it. Have the older version too. Love them both. What is funny is I think I am going to actually buy the petalette one for the very reasons you didn’t like it. I used the Petalette palette on Easter for a pretty Spring look and I did a beautiful smoky purple eye with it. Actually I ended up loving it. The only thing I did find the new formulated Wet N' Wild palettes are very much more powdery than the old formula, totally agree. That is fine if you had a different experience than I did with the petalette palette. Now it is one of my favorite small eyeshadow palettes to use. Love your channel Zabrena.

And here I am thinking I'm the only one to realize previous eyeshadow shades were getting recycled into redesigned packaging then marketed as new. Zabrena....you are the one and only vlogger to point this out. I used to get so excited to see new makeup displays at drugstores---only to have to study the shades so I didn't wind up saddled with five of the exact same shadows....having eventually gotten wise to this cosmetic company trickery. Something which sure did take the fun and spontaneity out of makeup shopping for me.

I was surprised to hear you say that you didn't like the last palette because the whole time you were talking throughout the video I kept thinking how gorgeous that look was on you!
i feel like i cant seem to find but a few colors (on a good day) that look nice on me one eye shadow that is my favorite and always looks good on me and that loreals 24 hr amber rush. best shadow ever and i believe it can look good on every eye color and skin tone... but you are so good at putting on your eyeshadow that you can wear any color & they all look great on you!
I have all of these pallets from wet and wild besides the walking on eggshells and that's only because of my skin tone I love these pallets even though the one called Paulette is kind of soft and not a dark shadow s color I kind of like it for an everyday look but to each his own 🙃 thank you for the quick review and the details the looks were beautiful on you Z 💋🎨👸🌻😁💕

You are right about the walking on eggshells
I'm drawn to purple hues, so I impulse-bought the 5 pan Petalette palette about a week ago. I wanted a small eyeshadow palette to fit in my small to-go makeup bag, and I was so disappointed. I thought the colors were too pale and muddied up when blending. I'm glad to know the other palettes are better quality. Now I know I can pick up one of the other choices and maybe be happy with them.
All of these looks are gorgeous, but the green is definitely the standout! If I didnt have a million tons of makeup already, I would grab a couple of these. Thanks so much for the review! 💜💛💚💙
I could be wrong, but it seems to me that your viewers would be happier with the e.l.f. quads than with this powdery five-palette. You are a gem, BTW!
When you demonstrated the Pettlette quad palette I immediately bought it because I love Purples. The Sundazed and the Lucky Charms Palette I love and am going to give them a try. Thanks Beautiful for sharing these new 5 pan palettes.

I loved the Petalette palette on you! I think it was my favorite.
I liked the look you’re displaying. When wearing makeup to work, it’s more appropriate to appear more muted than bold - at least working with the public. I liked the honest reviews and it’s nice the pallets are coordinated to pick one and done.
