Where to even begin telling you what I loved about this absolute masterpiece? The opening and music set the stage perfectly, and just really prepare a viewer's mind to enjoy your film. The colors... The views... The angles... Loved the contrast of the yellow leaf in front of the water. The seemingly simple things like that are the perfect touches. Going up in that tower is a nope from me, dawg, but it was slightly therapeutic for me to watch it!!!
Keep up the super fine work, bud. 👍👍👍

My rational mind was telling me to relax because the tower has been there forever and seen much stronger winds, but I kept envisioning the cabin breaking off from the tower with me in it and flying away like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, lol. The Catskills really have some great trails and hikes, If you ever get a chance to head up there, I highly reccomend it.

Honestly, In my experience the Burroughs-panther loop is a much more scenic and complete hike of the Catskills. It's got just about everything you could ask for minus the fire tower (but the view from Wittenberg surely makes up for it). Beautiful views, river and stream crossings, rock scrambles, no boring carriage trails, and the camping on the way down Wittenberg going counter-clockwise is amazing. You hit slide, Cornell, Wittenberg, giants ledge, and Panther mountain in one two trip. You can camp at woodland valley but there are plenty of other great sites along the trail. Definitely the one Id recommend to anyone who wants to see the best of what the Catskills has to offer. The hunter loop is probably one of the better day hikes though.

North/South lake campground which is a New York state campground is very close to Hunter Mountain. I did a video on North/South last fall, that place is truly awesome and one of the best places I have ever camped at. There is a real concentration of absolutely awesome hiking and scenery right in that section of the Catskills. Devil's Path Kaaterskill Falls, Hunter Mountain, and much much more, that is the place to be. I ended up staying at a campground called little pond that was about 30 miles away. That was really nice too, I wanted to do a short video from there as well but my knees were hurting and I was completely exhausted by the time I got there. There is also another campground right at the base of Hunter Mountain called Devil's Tombstone, but it is very small and rustic and seems to be only open in the summer months.

Did you say something at this time stamp while in the tower? 11:08
I had to rewind it several times but just between 11:07-11:10 right after the last clack of your pole extension, there is what sounds like a faint voice that says something or is you? Or do you know what that is? If you have a hard time hearing it, slow it down to 75% or 50% and you can definitely hear it.

Hunter Mountain ski resort has a chair lift that will take you from the base of the mountain to near the summit. From where the lift drops you off its a 2 mile hike to the fire tower. www.huntermtn.com/ I think this would be a great way to experience the mountain top and tower. Every other trail to the top requires an extremely difficult and long hike to the top. Check it out.
