And it was Senator Franken who caught Trump Attorney General Jeff Sessions lying about Trump campaign meetings with Russian government officials during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Franken forced Sessions to recuse himself from all Department of Justice investigations related to the 2016 election. Those investigations led to the first Trump impeachment for Obstruction of Justice. There likely would have been no (first) Trump impeachment were it not for Senator Al Franken.

Some have alleged that this is where she got her "story" from. So; no witnesses, no physical evidence (even Monica Lewinsky was smart enough to keep the dress!) not even an actual date. Guilty until proven innocent. Without a specific date, you have no chance of proving you weren't even there.
