I think Laura needs a fourth category called “UNSTARTED.” Then she could reward herself with a finish from started to middle category with a new start. And she could get a better category for the fully-kitted things in the queue. ❤
I just lost my mom and I was her caregiver. It was very therapeutic to be able to sit and stitch for stress relief. Stitching is definitely my happy place!
What a fabulous video! And a big thank you to Laura’s mom for stitching my lark design. But most importantly, you stated what we all believe. I can’t imagine my life with out stitching. It has been life changing and life enriching, and aren’t we lucky to share this passion with so many people who feel the same way! The most precious gift is the friends from near and far who have come into our lives. Just priceless! Thank you to you both for the joy that you share every week with all,of us. 🤗🥰
What a wonderful way to end another great video. I’m an old guy but new to stitching and so far I’m loving it. Each one of your videos winds up with about two pages of notes to look up samplers, flosstubes and more. Thank you so much for the inspiration (and chuckles) you always give.
Loved your personal message Brenda. Ive started making ‘portfolios’. For My pieces under 12x12. With using interface against the paper backing. My family will be able to flip throughp so they are still displayed. ❤
You two are beyond sweet and special! I just realized that I have been stitching for 42 years. Thank you for the ongoing joy, inspiration, tears, and laughter.
Oh how I wish I could stitch with you twp every day! Brenda, I loved your message about the joy of stitching. I have been stitching 40+ years with a few breaks when jobs, caring for parents, and life got too hectic, but since retiring, I stitch every single day, as long as I possibly can. I have no one to leave my stitching to after I am gone, but have made it clear that when they see all the time/money/thread/fabric spent they should realize that all my pieces are a tribute to the joy I felt living my life and how much every single stitch was important to me as a comfort and a time to reflect on all the joy in my life. I am so thankful for FlossTube and all the friendships I have created along the way. Laura, I love your new resolve to organize & have goals that will give you beautiful finishes and the joy that comes with a finished piece. (I think we may have to remove the "serial starter" tag and find another more appropriate name!) Love you both! xoxoxo
I enjoyed my time with you two this morning. I am printing and doing all the things related to Nashville Needlework Market. I so wish you guys were going to be there. Thank you for a wonderful video and showing all the eye candy. I would love to go shopping with you two. Hugs until next time. xoxo
Thank you Annie!!!! We are wishing you a fun and successful market!!! I am sure it will be both with your wonderful new designs!!!!! Sending hugs back to you!
Your closing comments have me weeping! ❤. I love you both! There is no way I can do a retreat… ( I had a TBI). All of the online content and camaraderie is so meaningful. Like you I live to stitch! (And quilt). Thank you for opening up this community! ❤❤❤
I have watched this entertaining video over a few days. Laura, you had me smiling over your enthusiasm about so many charts. It was hysterical to watch Brenda’s reaction to many of your projects. Brenda, your comments at the end of the video resonated with me. My cross stitching and quilting and Nantucket baskets are part of my legacy to my sons and grandchildren, and they give me joy. Thank you both!
Brenda, Thank you so much about the beeswax tip for 100/3. I have just started the third line of wording on Mary Carter 1712 using the beeswax. I can tell after only 6 letters that I may actually have the ability to finish this huge piece. So much easier to stitch with the 100/3.
Brenda, I truly loved what you had to say about stitching. I picked it up again about three years ago and it’s gotten me through some very difficult times. I have a stressful job and I look forward to coming home every day to unwind with my needle and thread. Sometimes I feel guilty that I’m not doing more “important” things or that I’m just using my time and energy on something that will be tossed aside or forgotten one day. Then I remind myself that it brings me joy and recharges me for those things I must do!
I have been watching you girls for about 2 yrs I think and I love you both more each time. You are both so real and I can relate to you both. This has to be one of my favorite videos. Laura’s collection of starts, middles and finishes was great especially as Brenda was trying to sort them and trying to be “firm” with how many Laura should have in each bag. My other favorite part was Brenda sharing her love of stitching. I look forward to all of your videos and have stitched a few of the same projects. I, too, have stitched for 40+ years…I am a 76 yr old great grandmother. Stitching is therapy and I do it daily as a way to relax. Watching Floss Tube is a great way to connect with other stitchers. I have spoken to Stephanie at Keepsakes (love her and Pam) and I have texted questions with Nicola. I am unable to go to retreats as I take care of my husband of 56+ yrs…, but I feel like I have “friends” that I have never met in person. You both are encouraging and fun and I love you both! May God bless you both as you share your love of needlework!❤️😍❤️
Thank you so much Christa!!! We are definitely all stitching friends even if we have not met in person. Thank goodness we have this community and floss tubes so we can talk about stitching with each other! Sending you and your husband lots of love!
Your flosstubes always bring me such joy and inspiration; your "closing" today touched my soul...my mantra continues to be: IF THERE IS ROOM IN YOUR HEART, THERE IS ROOM IN YOUR HOME!!! Yours in stitching, Patricia
I’ve come to the conclusion (after you categorized projects) that , every Laura needs a Brenda and every Brenda needs a Laura! You two are so much fun and so very kind!
I’ve been stitching for about 40 years as well. My aunt taught me when I was a teen. I’ve got boxes of framed finishes and a couple of boxes waiting to be FFOd. Stitching is truly my therapy. I stitch everyday before I head to school and again when I get home. When my boys were teens they figured me out, both of them and my husband would actually tell me to go stitch when I got stressed, mad or frustrated. Worked every time to help me relax. They both have stitched pieces in their homes and have mentioned pieces they would like to have someday. Forever a stitcher I will be. Thank you for being an inspiration to the stitching community.
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 yes! They are the best! The family joke has been telling me my tombstone will one day read “just let me finish this thread”.
Enjoyed the updates on your stitching progress! Our family lake house is a few miles from House of Stitches so I have had the joy of going there for decades! So glad Sarah decided to keep the shop going after Linda retired-especially since we bought our own house there a few years ago! We Will Dye For You linen is one of my favorites! Come visit for dessert and some stitching the next time you road trip!
What a wonderful floss tube, always enjoy you girls, today has been so great seeing you,I’m home bound with Shingles. So you guys took my mind off that for awhile.
Loved everything you did on this video. And yes Brenda I probably have more projects than I can finish in my lifetime BUT they energize me and keep me going each and every day. I also agree that projects should be out and enjoyed! Each one carries a memory of the time, place or people you were with at that time. Take care! Laura you just make me smile. I know exactly how you feel about your projects! Nice work you two! I will get caught up on latest videos! Those are my own marching orders!😂
I love you two..I find myself smiling when I am watching you both..you are both very inspirational…I am always looking to see when a new video comes out..
Oh my goodness! Thanks so much. I needed to watch today. I love to chuckle along with you. You inspired me to keep going. I love to stitch and have pulled out a few pieces that have been put away. Not sure what I’ll do or how I’ll finish it but I do love to stitch!🪡🧵🪡🧵
Such goodness!!! Thank you for sharing. I'm so glad to have become "virtual" friends with you both - you each hold such a special place in my heart and thankful for all of your encouragement! You are DEFINITELY known for your stitching!!!!!
Thank you Christine!!!! So happy we are friends too!!!!! And thank you for all of the wonderful gifts you have bestowed upon us through the years. Hugs!!
I can’t stitch for laughing and also screenshooting all the goodies I simply must have and start!! Laura, you just led us through temptation alley 😂 Three cheers, Brenda - where would we be without fabric in our hands. It’s the Cloth of Comfort.
Thank you for your talk at the end of the flosstube Brenda. Only stitchers can understand what you said. Well I should qualify that, only creative people can. I once asked my husband how he could make it through life without being able to have the time or energy to do creative things at the end of his work day or how anyone could. He’s a “just the facts” kind of guy and said he didn’t have a choice. Well I won’t be livable if I didn’t find some small moments to stitch, quilt or create each day. Since I’m by the definition “elderly” now I can look back at my stitching or quilts and memories flood back as I see them. I remember the joys and the tears at the time I was making them. Oh how they have gotten me through what others would consider hard times yet those pieces grounded me during those time. The prayers, the thoughts and even the distractions they gave me. The joy of hearing the thread pull through the fabric, the joy looking at the finished pieces even though sometimes they even would drive me to tears. The lessons I learnt. My husband just this December had a surprise triple bypass and though I believe both of us have been through medical trauma I now have a sampler that will forever be my bypass sampler. Through the waiting, the medical emergencies post op, the trauma, the missing family Christmas get togethers those x’s tell the story of not just that but gratefulness to the Lord bringing us through not only the hospital stay but the continuing recovery at home and the joy of disaster averted. Thank you for your flosstube and the joy you bring as well as the community of stitchers you have made and the inspiration.
Thank you for your kind words Mary Ellen. We hope that your husband continues to heal and improve....and we know that you will take solace in every stitch you make. Sending love to you both!
Ladies, you usually have me laughing. Brenda, today you brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for all you said and everything you both do for the stitching community!🪡💕🧵❤️
Omg, Brenda your talk on stitching and therapy hit me….i recently had surgery. I came home that evening and immediately went,to my chair still under the influence of anesthesia but there I sat stitching to start my recovery. Note. Don’t do stitching while coming off anesthesia since I frogged most of it the next day. It is calming, therapeutic and fun…..thank you for putting the love of stitching into words.
Thank you Brenda, you are an inspiration to us when we lose the desire to stitch or feel guilty that we have too much stash. You both are funny and informative always. Thank you both ❤️!!
I was so happily surprised to see you were back on today! I had to grab my winter cross stitch project for Colorado cross stitcher and a cup of tea. Brenda, I totally agree with you about our stitching. When my son was sick, before he died, he told my other son to make sure I keep sewing
Oh, my goodness! Brenda, thank you for mentioning me and showing my little bitty flower! I am so touched and honored! It was a great show! Thank you both for all the encouragement and inspiration you provide to the stitching community! You are just the best!
I’ve loved stitching ever since I learned how when I was in first grade. I wish I still had those early pieces but sadly many are long gone lived out their lives for my mom used them all for what they were intended for (doilies, shawls, runners, pillow cases, et .) until they were torn and unrecognizable. But I still stitch, knit, crochet, needlepoint, bead… it’s therapeutic. Laura, glad to see the serial stitcher back but of course will always cheer your finishes. You’re just plain amazing, Brenda. Take care!
Thank you I needed this today. Laura this might be called an intervention. Love Brenda’s advice at the end. I have so many not FFO’d, for lack of not knowing how or lack of $$.
Brenda, I could not have said it better myself. Stitching and quilting are my therapy. They have gotten me through some very trying times, and always brings me joy. If I start something and it doesn’t make me happy, I move on. Bravo on another great video.
Hello! New subscriber and fellow Michigander (Ann Arbor born and raised)! Just started stitching again two weeks ago after a 30 year hiatus. Enjoying your channel very much!
Welcome!!!!! Just started two weeks ago after 30 years! That is so exciting!!!! I bet you are finding lots of inspiration in many places! I would like to be a fly on the wall and see your experiences! Enjoy every minute!
I subscribe to the spiel! ❤ I really enjoy you both so much. Thank you again for another wonderful flosstube (therapy) session. I think running out of wall space is not a worry, it will all work out. The quilt rack was a great idea. I have many items rolled up stored away, I'm just going to get them out and figure it out. Usually when I finish a piece I leave it sort of hanging from the top of the couch so I can see it every time i pass by. I'm thinking now, I might just get some simple towel rod situation going and hang pieces from them until I figure out how I want them completely finished.
As with all your videos, there is so much inspiration to be seen. I especially loved the bit at the end. Now when it comes to being bossy, brother-in-law has been known to moo at my sister and I. We say that we are not bossy; we're helpful!
Love you guys so much and yes you could be the comedians on the cross stitch tv channel! 😂🤣 I do not know how you have so many WIPS! I’m strictly a monogamous stitcher but I am fascinated by all of your pieces and have bought many a pattern after seeing yours! Have a great stitchy week. ❤
I absolutely love your videos! You always make me smile. I teach kindergarten and some days I just need a good laugh. You two crack me up and I love seeing all the beautiful things you are working on. ❤️ Thank you so much for all you do. And I agree that there should be a cross stitch tv show. I would watch every episode! 😂🥰 And I love your words at the end. Very inspirational. ❤️❤️
Where to begin??? I guess I have to start with what you said at the end, Brenda. I too have been stitching for a VERY LONG time & I know that my husband & my 2 children know me for being a nurse & a stitcher. They all tease me about it, but they know that it has been therapy for me & that I love it. Thank you for sharing ways of displaying pieces that aren't FFO'd. I currently have some hanging on my stitching room walls with straight pins!!! Anyway another GREAT video! Thanks to you both!
Brenda, thank you for what you said toward the end of this video. JUST KEEP STITCHING. I just went through my handknit/crocheted sweaters this week (trying to find space for them), and was feeling guilty. I have 58 and my friends and family think I'm out of my mind for having that many. But making them is my therapy. And I've met my best friends through knitting, so it's very worth it to me. ❤ JUST KEEP STITCHING.
Oh Brenda that’s so touching. You are such a role model in this industry and definitely a huge inspiration to many. You and Laura are great ambassadors to the hobby, and I thank you for sharing your time with us on flosstube.
Such beautiful words of wisdom from you Brenda! I know that so many of us feel exactly the same as you do. It is hard to explain to someone who does not stitch but you did an excellent job of it. As always, I loved seeing everything that the two of you shared. Laura, please cherish the times you have with your mom, what a treasure they are. I lost my mom on Christmas Eve 2023 but I have many wonderful memories of the many days that we sat and stitched together, went to retreats, and went shopping to build up our stash. Blessings to you both. Happy stitching.
Dear Pam, we are sending our deepest sympathy to you in the loss of your mom. We know you loved her very much. We hope that you are finding solace in your stitching and your memories. We are sending a huge hug to you. And lots of love.
You two just bring me so much joy ,I love stitching and listening to you,and seeing all your projects no matter what stage they are in. Till next time keep in stitches. What a fantastic ending.😊❤
Well, the ending got to me. Thx for the laughs in this one. I recently kitted up a ton of projects and just seeing everything I have again. I panicked a bit, but it was all good at the end - no counting starts, WIPs, kitted projects, etc. Floss tube stitchers keep me motivated. Hugs…
Wonderful video ladies! I always enjoy seeing what you are working on. Brenda your finish at the end was absolutely beautiful! I hope you both have a great week!
Brenda - I am so glad you found those little Easter pins! And they are in beautiful shape for being as old as they are. And I totally agree - Stitch what you enjoy, and enjoy what you stitch! I am getting better at FFOs so that I can enjoy my work. Thanks for keeping Laura in line - LOL! Looking forward to the next time, as always.
Love your stitching and friendship. I love to stitch and have been doing it since I was 8 years old. I go from sewing machine, to knitting, to crosstitch and back again. You have given me permission to keep stitching when I notice a mistake. Just like the woman who said if she makes a mistake on her quilting she hangs it on her porch and drives by at 60 miles an hour. If she can’t see the mistake then it’s ok. Say hi to mom
I'm framing Rachel Howells as I watch this - inspired to stitch it by seeing it on your walls. One sampler wall is nearly full (above and below my stairs off my dining room). If I ever ran out of wall space, I would consider putting framed pieces on the ceiling if I could figure out a way to secure them ! Maybe I'd do it on a sewing room ceiling !! Thanks for the inspiration.
You are so right. I can’t imagine life without stitching. I sit and stitch as often as I can. I get up at 3 in the morning to stitch a couple of hours before work. I come home from work and Jim has eaten his dinner and cleaned the kitchen so I relax and we watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune along with the evening news. I sit and stitch during the shows before bed. The friendship along the way last forever. You may not see someone for years and when you see each other it’s like you talked with them yesterday. You both are so positive that after watching you we feel good about ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful smile and talent. ❤❤
I agree Brenda…I look around my house sometimes and get depressed about how many smalls I have and think …I do not need another small….but then I get real and think ….it is my love and I enjoy seeing each and every piece I’ve done. And I realize that I could not stop if I wanted to…..I NEED to have a needle in my hand! Glad we all have the same passion!
Terri...you are a true inspiration to so many of us!!! Your work is so beautiful!!!! Thank goodness you love stitching and creating. You bring joy to so many!
Great job ladies…I need a Brenda to come and organize me too! Beautiful stitches. With market coming I am really setting myself a limit! I decided I would only get charts that have a meaning to me. What a testimony about a stitcher…it’s not how many are done, but that the process of stitching them, look how many life things you have stitched through. I had an accident a couple years ago and could not walk or get into my sewing room, I really needed something to keep my hands. Use, I could go on line and learn to cross stitch on flosstube found a store I could order a kit from and started there. I am a year and a half out from my accident and I am still cross stitching but I am also back to sewing again as well. Thank you for all the encouragement you two have given me.
Got a solution for putting your framed pieces! Just move the furniture away from the wall far enough that you can place your framed pieces clear down to the floor!!! How unique would that be?? Moving to a smaller home and still working on where to put things, get rid of things for a year and a half has created these crazy thoughts, but i won’t give up the stitching either! Keep on Keep on!
Brenda, You echoed my sentiments regarding stitching. My stitching gives me the relief I need and I know I can count on it to come to rescue any time. Thank you for another lovely floss tube!
Another fantastic video I wanted to share how I waxed my threads , i start after my needle is threaded near my needle so I catch both threads ( that way my thread doesn’t unthread by itself) then I go down but stopped waxing about 1 1/2 inches from the end of the thread. This help to be wax free in my pin stitch, the pin stitch held strongly without the wax… and of course I slide my fingers down to remove any excess wax. I like to wax my cotton threads so they don’t get knotted
Hear, hear!! I'm forever grateful for the internet and flosstube when I came back to stitching a couple of years ago! All of you have expanded my world so much with inspiration, color, and friendship! ❤
My wife and I really enjoy watching your videos! Thank you for always brightening our weekend! Brenda, can you share the color of paint on your walls? I think way back you said it was a Sherman Williams brand but I just can't remember the color. The paint color just makes your treasures pop!
First time watching and now I'm going to have to catch up on all of your episodes! You are both lovely. And thank you, Brenda, for the beautiful words at the end. This hobby is a joy and I'm so happy to have found a community who shares it.
Loved the video girls! So much fun and visiting. I could listen daily. Yes Brenda stitch what you want, when you want and with whomever you want, just keep stitching with no end In site! 🩵🩵🩵🩵 those pieces you shared will be a treasure you can pass to your kids and their kids kids! The legacy will live on!!😍🪡😁
I love visiting with you ladies. I have you on in my sewing room and had to pause and go buy the Stitch in Time Chart. My first cross stitch purchase of 2024.
I dont believe that Brenda and the Serial Starter need PR people. In my experience, the stitchers I know and meet all know Brenda and Laura. We get hepped up, receive marching orders, and Oh Say, we all love stitching, collecting fabric, charts and seeing you two lovely, inspirational ladies every other (mostly) Sunday. Thank you to both of you!
So great to see you both!!! It was such a treat to see what was in the WoW box - such amazing samplers! Such fun to see the samplers that needed to be 'sorted', Laura! What treasures you found in the crawl space, Brenda! I got goosebumps when you said your daughter remembered them! Stitching is a must, no matter what! Thanks as always for sharing your friendship and passion! Happy stitching!
I'm always so jealous of ALL the gorgeous patterns you two enjoy! I LOVE every single one of them! Excellent stitching skills you both have as well! Thank you for sharing another extremely enjoyable video!!! Happy stitching!!!!
I’ve just sat eating my breakfast giggling and smiling. You two are such a tonic. Thank you so much for sharing not just your work but your enthusiasm and thoughts. Happy stitching.❤❤
Thank you Brenda and Laura, for a wonderful flosstube. Beautiful finishes and wonderful progress on your wips. I love how Laura is finishing some of her wonderful pieces of art too! Thank you for making me laugh with the unapproving face that Brenda had when putting away your samplers Laura. Love and blessings xx
I always enjoy spending time with you two. I laughed at Brenda holding Laura to account on her 10 start projects and no more! I have also loved seeing all of Laura's finishes lately and the framed piece from Bennett Gallery is beautiful!
Haha Laura, it does not surprise me that someone who is so into weird and quirky samplers is also an ELO fan. 😂 I can count myself in that cohort too. Beautiful stitching from you both as always!
I too have been stitching for over 40 years. Stitching is my therapy! I loved it this week when my son brought my mail to me and it was stitchy stuff. As I opened up my packages with excitement he asked me where I was going to put more cross stitch. I told him I was sure I could find a place!😂.
Thank you both for your encouraging words. This was hands down the best flosstube I’ve seen so far. God bless you both. ❤ After recovering from an illness I’ve started sewing again,I want to learn cross stitch and quilting. The video has given me hope that all things are possible. Happy stitching ladies.
Thank you so much Linda! So happy that you started sewing again! Cross stitching is easier than sewing so we have every confidence that you can pick it up!
Thank you for the encouragement. I have a sampler that I stitched in 1982-I had it reframed because I like its simplicity and bright colors. I enjoy stitching and thankful for all the choices. I so enjoy watching and seeing your beautiful stitching.
I hope you know how special you are, the way you interact with each other, and the way you interact with us through the camera. Not everyone has the ability to warm other peoples' hearts without being in the same room as they are, but you two do. Your laughs, your smiles, the way Laura opens her eyes so wide after Brenda says something, it leaves me speechless. Thank you for what you do to make each one of us forget our troubles for the time your video runs. That is a gift that each one of us appreciates.
Such true words Brenda. Stitching is my happy place. Life wouldn’t be the same without it. Always enjoy watching the two of you who clearly love stitching as much as I do & the rest of us here do ♥️♥️
Now we know why you want to be called the Serial Starter. Love your enthusiasm. I am mostly a monogamous stitcher. Right now I have 4 active projects, and they are making me crazy. I need to see progress. When I finish a few, I will be getting into some new starts. That will be my reward for finishing. Thanks ladies for the chuckles and the enabling
I have been watching since June 2023 That is when I began counted cross stitching, I was 83 years old, but I always wanted to do it. I took Fat quarter lessons and that changed my life. I have done a lot of projects for me and family, whom are my biggest fans. The talk that Brenda did on this video got me where I live and think. Thank you for saying that just keep stitching no matter what. When i die, I don't really care what happens to my work, but I don't want to get thru a day and not stitch. I agree totally with your idea. If it makes you happy (which it does) just do it. I truly thank you for saying what I want to do. I send you my greatest appreciation for saying it. Virginia In River Bend, NC
I saw ELO in concert t the Iowa State Fair in 1977. I still remember all the lyrics to all the 70's songs. Thanks for doing videos. It's always a happy day when I can watch Brenda and Laura.
It’s always a treat when I see your flosstube is ready. I always enjoy visiting with you both. I was glad to see all the words of wisdom projects. I had seen some here and there but wonderful to see it all at once. Thank you. I agree with you about continuing to stitch even if you run out of room. My projects take turns being on display sometimes. And it’s like having a present when something different is out. Thanks for all you do.
I think Laura needs a fourth category called “UNSTARTED.” Then she could reward herself with a finish from started to middle category with a new start. And she could get a better category for the fully-kitted things in the queue. ❤
Thank you for this great idea!!!!!!! Will try to implement it ASAP!
Oh how I needed y’all! I am the care giver for my mom who has dementia. It is tough. When I come home I need a release….you two be it❤❤❤❤❤
Hugs to you. I know just how you feel.
God Bless you. My family and I went thru this with my Mom. Now she is in a nursing facility, and we miss her at home!
Hugs to you!
May the good Lord keep you close ❤
I just lost my mom and I was her caregiver. It was very therapeutic to be able to sit and stitch for stress relief. Stitching is definitely my happy place!
THANK YOU...for "permission" to keep stitching! Some how, it's so helpful to hear your experience. ❤
Thank you Judy for all the joy and wonderful stitching you have brought to us all!!!! Love you!
I love Jodi's fabrics!!!! Those colors are gorgeous.
Aren't they though???!!!
What a wonderful way to end another great video. I’m an old guy but new to stitching and so far I’m loving it. Each one of your videos winds up with about two pages of notes to look up samplers, flosstubes and more. Thank you so much for the inspiration (and chuckles) you always give.
Welcome to the stitching community Frank!!!! So happy that you found us and thank you for your kind words!
Loved your personal message Brenda. Ive started making ‘portfolios’. For My pieces under 12x12. With using interface against the paper backing. My family will be able to flip throughp so they are still displayed. ❤
I dont put them in plastic. Will see how that goes…
@kimakimakima Iwould love to see how you have put together your portfolio. Sounds like a great idea!
Another fabulous episode! You girls are such fun. Please… never stop sharing your stitching lives!❤❤❤
You two are beyond sweet and special! I just realized that I have been stitching for 42 years. Thank you for the ongoing joy, inspiration, tears, and laughter.
Thank you Shari! Congratulations on 42 years of stitching!!!! Wonderful!
(I think we may have to remove the "serial starter" tag and find another more appropriate name!) Love you both! xoxoxo
What a beautiful comment. I know the ladies would think it to be just lovely. I too enjoy their videos.
Thank you so much for your kind and wise words Barbara. We are sending you a big hug and lots of love!!
It is so comforting to know that we can all commune with one another without even leaving home! Sending you a big hug Rene!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments Marjorie!!! Hugs!
I enjoy watching your flosstube! Very inspiring! It is raining here in Arkansas, but I am enjoying watching your channel. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching Barbara!
Brenda, Thank you so much about the beeswax tip for 100/3. I have just started the third line of wording on Mary Carter 1712 using the beeswax. I can tell after only 6 letters that I may actually have the ability to finish this huge piece. So much easier to stitch with the 100/3.
That is so wonderful!!!!!! Yay for Brenda's tip!
Thank you Teresa for your wise words! So happy that we can all come home and unwind and recharge with our stitching.
Loved this one. Laura, I thought sure you had more starts. Brenda your passion definitely shows in your work. ❤
Thank you!!!! I have tons more starts! Just could not transport them to Brenda's house in one trip! More to come!
Your flosstubes always bring me such joy and inspiration; your "closing" today touched my soul...my mantra continues to be: IF THERE IS ROOM IN YOUR HEART, THERE IS ROOM IN YOUR HOME!!! Yours in stitching, Patricia
What a great mantra! Thank you so much Patricia!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 🥰
And I’m so glad we met at a retreat, too! What would my life be like without the joy I get from The Goobers?!! Miss y’all and hope to see you soon! ❤️
absolutely fab episode and totally agree stitching is our blessing x
I just simply love you both. I look forward to your floss tube and your friendship. Please keep up the hard work.
Thank you so so much!
Brenda, thank you, I have tears. I love my stitching and sewing and it is what I want to do everyday.
Brenda sure put our feelings into beautiful words!
I’ve come to the conclusion (after you categorized projects) that , every Laura needs a Brenda and every Brenda needs a Laura! You two are so much fun and so very kind!
I agree - such a wonderful friendship xxx
Thank you Kimberly!!! Your family sounds wonderfully supportive!!!
Thank you so much for that wonderful offer!! We are anxious to get back to HOS soon!!!!! You are lucky to live in such a wonderful area!
Certainly very fortunate!!
What a wonderful floss tube, always enjoy you girls, today has been so great seeing you,I’m home bound with Shingles. So you guys took my mind off that for awhile.
We hope that you are feeling better now Pat! Sending all good vibes!!!!
Hear, hear, Brenda! It’s therapeutic to stitch. 🙏
Isn't it though????
Stitching is a journey.
Peace be the journey.
Thank you both.❤😊
Thank you very much Sandy!
I love you two..I find myself smiling when I am watching you both..you are both very inspirational…I am always looking to see when a new video comes out..
That is so kind of you! Thank you Linda!
Thank you Chris! Please keep stitching!!!! Hugs!
Oh Laura and Brenda! 5 minutes in and I’ve already ordered all 3 linens!!! You enablers lol
Oh boy!!!! You will thank us when they arrive Stacie!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410can’t wait!!! Go Blue Brenda!
Hugs!!
The flosstube gold standard!!! New Every Morning went straight into my shopping cart. Martin Scorcese LMAO!!
Oh!!! You are going to love New Every Morning!
I can’t stitch for laughing and also screenshooting all the goodies I simply must have and start!! Laura, you just led us through temptation alley 😂 Three cheers, Brenda - where would we be without fabric in our hands. It’s the Cloth of Comfort.
Thank you so much Deborah! Love the phrase Cloth of Comfort!
Thank you Helga!
Thank you Joan! Hope you are fully recovered and back to stitching up a storm!
What a wonderful way to spend my Sunday afternoon! You two bring such joy and laughter and of course patterns etc.
Thank you very much Kathy!!!
Thank you Brenda, you are an inspiration to us when we lose the desire to stitch or feel guilty that we have too much stash. You both are funny and informative always. Thank you both ❤️!!
Thank you Susan!!!
I was so happily surprised to see you were back on today! I had to grab my winter cross stitch project for Colorado cross stitcher and a cup of tea. Brenda, I totally agree with you about our stitching. When my son was sick, before he died, he told my other son to make sure I keep sewing
We are sending you sympathy in the loss of your son. He was so sweet to know that you needed to keep stitching. Sending you lots of love.
I also love the Primrose Cottage Quakers!! I am a couple evenings away from finishing the winter one. I just ordered all the ones they have so far.
You are going to have some fun stitching ahead of you Wendy!!! That is great!
Oh, my goodness! Brenda, thank you for mentioning me and showing my little bitty flower! I am so touched and honored! It was a great show! Thank you both for all the encouragement and inspiration you provide to the stitching community! You are just the best!
Thank you so much Trudy!!!!! Is it okay if I (Laura) use your flower idea too? It is so cute!!!!!!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 Laura - of course you may! I’d be honored!
@@trudygongora7247 Thank you!
Thank you for watching!!!! Let's try and get somethings FFO'd this year!!!
You ladies are wonderful, you make me laugh every floss tube ❤ thanks. I enjoy all of your beautiful cross stitch.
Thank you so much Ramona!
Brenda, I could not have said it better myself. Stitching and quilting are my therapy. They have gotten me through some very trying times, and always brings me joy. If I start something and it doesn’t make me happy, I move on. Bravo on another great video.
Thank you so very much Ruth!
Fabulous ideas!!!!!!! Thank you so much for watching!
As with all your videos, there is so much inspiration to be seen. I especially loved the bit at the end. Now when it comes to being bossy, brother-in-law has been known to moo at my sister and I. We say that we are not bossy; we're helpful!
That is right.....helpful not bossy!!!! Thank you Donna!
Hello from Tennessee! Thank you ... Thank you.... Thank you. It was lovely to stitch with you today and see the things you're working on. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you Helen!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love your videos! You always make me smile. I teach kindergarten and some days I just need a good laugh. You two crack me up and I love seeing all the beautiful things you are working on. ❤️
Thank you so much for all you do. And I agree that there should be a cross stitch tv show. I would watch every episode! 😂🥰
And I love your words at the end. Very inspirational. ❤️❤️
Thank you Julie!!!!!
Thank you very much Lois!
Thank you so much Donna!!! We both appreciate your very kind words!
I lost my mom on
Christmas Eve 2023 but I have many wonderful memories of the many days that we sat and stitched together, went to retreats, and went shopping to build up our stash. Blessings to you both. Happy stitching.
Dear Pam, we are sending our deepest sympathy to you in the loss of your mom. We know you loved her very much. We hope that you are finding solace in your stitching and your memories. We are sending a huge hug to you. And lots of love.
I enjoy watching you two. You make laugh and then I go order Cedar River Linens. Love your fabrics.
Thank you so much Robie!!!
You two just bring me so much joy ,I love stitching and listening to you,and seeing all your projects no matter what stage they are in. Till next time keep in stitches. What a fantastic ending.😊❤
Thank you so much!
Hugs…
Thank you!! And so glad you have so many selections to stitch in your future!
Wonderful video ladies! I always enjoy seeing what you are working on. Brenda your finish at the end was absolutely beautiful! I hope you both have a great week!
Thank you so very much!
What a sweet find, Brenda and an absolutely beautiful sentiment at the end for all stitchers. Thank you to both of you.
Thank you Joni!
Thank you so much Lori!!!!
Thank you so much!!!!!! So happy that you enjoying all of your crafts!
The ceiling!!!! Great idea!!!!!!! In the meantime, enjoy everything on your walls Justine!
Brenda, when God made you, He sure knew what He was doing. Thank You for being You!! You too Laura !! Wonderful!!
Thank you very kindly Jane!
Thank you for your very kind words Ida....they are the words that keep us going. Hugs!!!
We are so happy to hear that you are healing from your accident. Good to know that stitching has helped! Sending you a big hug!
Oh goodness I just love you girls. I want that berry time chart. You make me laugh so hard.😅
Thank you so much Katherine!
Thank you so much Bhooma!!!!
Another fantastic video
I wanted to share how I waxed my threads , i start after my needle is threaded near my needle so I catch both threads ( that way my thread doesn’t unthread by itself) then I go down but stopped waxing about 1 1/2 inches from the end of the thread. This help to be wax free in my pin stitch, the pin stitch held strongly without the wax… and of course I slide my fingers down to remove any excess wax. I like to wax my cotton threads so they don’t get knotted
Thank you so much Jocelyn!!!!!! Great advice!
You two are a delight. Thank you for being you.
Hear, hear!! I'm forever grateful for the internet and flosstube when I came back to stitching a couple of years ago! All of you have expanded my world so much with inspiration, color, and friendship! ❤
Thank you Sarah!!!
My wife and I really enjoy watching your videos! Thank you for always brightening our weekend!
Brenda, can you share the color of paint on your walls? I think way back you said it was a Sherman Williams brand but I just can't remember the color. The paint color just makes your treasures pop!
Found it. We had to replay many back videos but it was a wet, cold day. Sherwin Williams - Greenwash

Thank you for this dear sweet comment Debbie! Just makes our day!
So great to see you both!!! It was such a treat to see what was in the WoW box - such amazing samplers! Such fun to see the samplers that needed to be 'sorted', Laura!
Thank you Julie!!!! Don't we all have such fun with our stitching!
How sweet to find something you stitched for your daughters. I too love to stitch whether I finish it or not, just for relaxing.
Yes, stitching is so relaxing!!!!! Thank you Mickie!
I always enjoy spending time with you two. I laughed at Brenda holding Laura to account on her 10 start projects and no more! I have also loved seeing all of Laura's finishes lately and the framed piece from Bennett Gallery is beautiful!
Thank you so much Raquel!!!
Haha Laura, it does not surprise me that someone who is so into weird and quirky samplers is also an ELO fan. 😂 I can count myself in that cohort too. Beautiful stitching from you both as always!
Thank you so much!!!!!!!! Glad to know a fellow ELO fan!
I too have been stitching for over 40 years. Stitching is my therapy! I loved it this week when my son brought my mail to me and it was stitchy stuff. As I opened up my packages with excitement he asked me where I was going to put more cross stitch. I told him I was sure I could find a place!😂.
That is hilarious!!! We can relate! Thank you Nancy!
Thank you Carol! I bet that sampler is gorgeous!
Your words about your love of needlework brought tears to my eyes and love to my heart. Thank you.
Thank you so much Debra!
Dear Karen, Thank you for the nicest comment we ever received. You are very kind to let us know this. We appreciate it so very much!!!!
Such true words Brenda. Stitching is my happy place. Life wouldn’t be the same without it. Always enjoy watching the two of you who clearly love stitching as much as I do & the rest of us here do ♥️♥️
Thank goodness for stitching, for Brenda and for our community!
Thank you Valerie!!!!! Hope you are close to a finish on some of your projects so you can start a new one!
Hi ladies. Loved all the projects and stitching today. You two are now officially my favorite two "Laguna Ladies".
Yay!!!! Thank you!

Well this makes us so happy Virginia!!! So happy that you are stitching and enjoying it so much!!! We are sending you lots of love!
I saw ELO in concert t the Iowa State Fair in 1977. I still remember all the lyrics to all the 70's songs. Thanks for doing videos. It's always a happy day when I can watch Brenda and Laura.
Oh!!! Lucky you!!! ELO was in perfect form in 1977! Thank you for watching!
Thank you Kathy!!!!!
