I don't know why every time someone watches Robocop, they think Murphy got killed his first day on the job. He just transferred from another precinct. It wasn't his first day as a cop! It was just his first day at a new precinct with a new partner!

Something most people miss in the brisk pacing is that Joe Morton says something like, "we've been placing prime candidates according to risk factor," when pitching the Robocop program to the old man. So OCP is transferring viable candidates to the most dangerous precincts intentionally increasing the likelyhood of their deaths so they can repurpose the corpses for their cyborg project. That explains the line, "I think OCP is moving a lot of guys here," and explains Murphy's transfer to the presinct.

Also, Murphy got himself killed when he shot that guy and wasted time trying to handcuff the other guy knowing full well that the remaining 4 guys would be on top of him immediately after hearing gunshots. Trust me you don't want to see the newer version it's an absolute abomination as doesn't hold up as good as this classic original.
RoboCop 2 is also great RoboCop 3 is ok but abit more kid friendly than the first two.
As a kid when i was first introduced to RoboCop was through gamboy and sega games, the 1990's Canadian TV series as well as the 80's animation series as I wasn't aloud to watch the original movie at the time because I was too young to watch violent movies.
RoboCop was so huge in the 80's and 90's every kid wanted to be RoboCop.

I think scores are terrible. It's way too reductive. Either you liked the movie, or you didn't! The post-discussion is rating enough.

Awesome reaction. Don't bother with the sequels because they aren't good. The remake is pretty good though so do watch that.

The sequels to this is far superior to the 2014 remake…especially the 2nd film “Robocop 2” is to me a competent sequel…obviously its not as good as the OG…but comparing it to the remake…yall would have more fun reacting to robocop 2 which all the og cast returns in that
