That place is gorgeous. We ate lunch there when we were in Egypt back in February 2023. We went there for lunch after visiting the pyramids. We were actually staying at the Four Seasons in Cairo. Had a beautiful room over looking the Nile which was an amazing sight at night.

I stayed in this hotel 3 years ago when I visited Egypt and LOVED it! The BEST views of the Pyramids from our Hotel Balcony - almost exactly where you stayed. It's an incomparable experience! The old, original part of the Hotel in under renovation and will make the new wings even better when they are all united. I want to visit again.
My mother and I went to the pyramids in 1994. It was far less busy walking into the interior of the Khufu complex. Oh and what an excellent presenter you are Tim.
Tim, thank you so very much for taking me round snd in the pyramids, my Dad ( bless him ) was a soldier back in 1947 and I have pictures of him everywhere you were walking. I so enjoyed watching, thank you once again
My neck of the woods. I live by the golf course (which you didn't show) and have the same view of the Great Pyramid from my bedroom balcony. One of the best reviews I have ever seen on RUclips. The flow of the video is excellent. And what a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. A big thumbs up from me.
Wow...that steepness and claustrophobia would have made me have a panic attack and probably pass out. It was absolutely fascinating watching you so smoothly navigate through all that while filming. The hotel is really something as well-very nice. The grand beauty of these sites is incredible. Great video, Tim!
I was there in November 2021, This hotel is really amazing, it totally worth the price. Having breakfast in your balcony overlooking the pyramids is unique.
Tim, your videos never dissappoint, this one was fantastic. I am an armchair viewer & I have to commend you on the quality of your videos. They are informative & entertaining. I'm so enjoying travelling around the globe with you leading the way.
When you first arrived at the pyramid it was amazing to see the scale! I am from New York and I have always loved Marriott hotels, I never imagined I would get to see one in Egypt! Thanks for the awesome video!
Tim's hotel tours, airline reviews and excursion trips are the best on RUclips. We love you, Tim. Keep doing what you do so well and we will be here to watch. ❤
I know some are saying it's overpriced, but I think it is worth the money. If you consider the size of your 2 rooms, the free food and drinks if you want it (you could as you said not have to pay for food and drink at all with access to that lounge) that alone would save you money. Also, the service is good, that was kind of the waiter in the lounge to bring you that big fruit platter. It's a once in a lifetime experience to stay somewhere where you can see the pyramids and also walk to it, thus saving on transport there, all in all, good value for money in my opinion.
Dunno if you ever traveled but 300 gonna get you a very good place in 1st world, for 640 you gonna get penthouse with jacuzzi on a balcony with an Eifel tower view. In Egypt tho you dont wanna know whats behind hotel walls

Thank you Tim! This is the closest I'll ever come to the pyramids and the other exotic places you go. I especially live seeing you and your family travel. Stay well😊!!
The pyramids are lit up sometimes. Like on the weekends when they do the Giza Pyramids Sound and Light Show. The show is a 50-minute multimedia show that takes place in front of the Great Pyramid. The show features Egyptian pharaohs narrating their stories, laser image projections, music, and spotlights on the pyramids and Sphinx. The show is available in 10 languages, including English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, and Polish. Headsets are available to translate the story into your preferred language.
Wow, your room looked very nice and I expected more than 640 a night especially with the complimentary lounge and all those cakes. Trip of a liftime to see the Pyramids, thank you for the fantastic footage inside and out 😊
I visited the pyramids over a decade ago, but it was summertime. My god, the heat was unreal. I took a couple of steps inside the pyramid, felt like I was being cremated, and I turned around and walked right back out. The sweat was appearing through the outside of my baseball cap. Pyramids size was amazing, though, and to think they're nearly 5000 years old.
!0 million? 110 million, at least. Thank you for this. It made me reminisce my childhood as my dad used to take us to that hotel frequently. We lived about 30 minutes away. It was our holiday sometimes.
Thing is that in peak season this second room (now furnished as a living room) can be easily converted into a totally seperate room. They simply close the interconnecting door, throw out the dining room set, move the couch over there, and get a bed in this space. That is also why that "suite" came with two identical bathrooms (and two minibars!).
@@perolden I would expect them to have copies of new emergency exit maps when they convert the rooms. Not difficult to do and worth the time and effort given how much they can make with extra paying guests. They could turn 1301 into 1301A & 1301B.
It would be used as a "Hospitality room/suite". Meetings, bridal parties, small corporate event space in the living room space. I've stayed in many like it. The rooms can be booked individually or together as a suite of rooms as needed.
@@peroldenmaybe they have got two exit maps. Because the roomnumber should be no problem. Near my house was a new house built. And I asked myself, which number it would get because if it got my number all the houses in my street would have to change theirs. The answer was: Gartenstr. No. 2 a.😂
Do you know what mate, I love watching your channel. The vlogs are so laid back and give us an idea of what's on offer throughout the world. Thanks Tim!
Thank you Tim for reviewing this beautiful hotel. Egypt is somewhere I have dreamed of visiting and my husband watches hours of history TV on the pyramids; as a retired builder he has a real passion for their construction. I have mobility issues now I'm older so don't think I'm likely to ever make the trip but having watched you filming inside of the pyramid, I appreciate even more your video and will be showing my husband where I think you will gain another fan!
When I was there 30 years ago we didn't have to pay there were only a few people there I was allowed to climb on them, and there were camel rides available. One of the best vacations of my life!!!
Awesome video! I'm an Egyptology student so it's great seeing these things! Also, the blocks for the pyramids didn't come from Luxor - the core limestone blocks came from Giza - basically where you're standing at 28:32 The white outer limestone that made the smooth angle was quarried and shipped from Tura
Yes, absolutely, as any mediocre guide book will tell you. The locals seem to know nothing, and fantasize about everything from the restaurants to the history. On the other hand, they are not really locals, they come from all over Egypt, and even the poorer Arabian countries.
Thank you for the experience. My arthritis would have prevented me from walking in the pyramids. I would have enjoyed the hotel. Beautiful. I bet you enjoyed the pool more than once.
Stayed there twice in 1976/76. Still remember it fondly and the very welcoming pool. Played golf under the pyramids across the road. Hotel has expanded greatly since then
I travelled from Kairo to Abu Simbel and the Red Sea and visited many historical sites in Egypt, but I refused to go inside the Great Pyramid in Gizeh because my sister told me what it's like. 🙏She was going through the experience before 😂 It's helpful for your viewers that you filmed it, in case they are planning to visit Egypt. Good job.
Your tour of Cairo, Egypt; the hotel and pyramids was beautiful. Keepp up on your doing. I always wanted to go to Cairo, Egypt and you brought it to me. I live in Friendly, Maryland since 197. I live about 20 minutes of the Capital in Washington, DC. Thank you for your tour. I love your tours. ❤
Beautiful room and view. I went to Cairo in 1990 and have to say I was very disappointed, got fed up with beggers and people cramming to sell you scrap.
Hi Tim. The reason the bed and living room are identical because they originally were 2 connecting rooms, where they simply changed the furniture in one room, to make it a living room. Hence the 2 separate balconies, 2 safes and near identical bathrooms. Superior rooms and suites, always have access to the executive lounge. Memberships is normally a point earning system, giving u options for free nights and a membership once “high” enough can mean free upgrades depending on availability. Suites made to be a suite has normally a powder room, one entrance, one safe and one big balcony, but either way, the extra space is always nice to have and you deserve it! Thanks for yet another great video!
Very impressed with the hotel. I guess two bathrooms allows a couple staying there to be able to use them at the same time as each other. (No waiting ages for the lady to finish!) I would certainly take advantage of the Executive lounge! Appreciate you scaling the Pyramid for us, with the heat and the climb not something I could face doing.
That hotel was amazing; can't believe someone complained. What a great video! I thought Egypt was dangerous but now I want to go there because of this video!
I feel you've been very generous with his one, Tim. You let a few things slide whereas before you would have been critical, and you didn't seem to 'nit-pick' the way you usually would.
Thank you Tim for the great video. My husband has always wanted to visit the Pyramids but all the people will change his mind, I’d be happy to sit on the hotel room balcony with that glass of wine you talked of.
Wow thanks for this video. You obviously are in great shape. Didn’t think I could of walked the inside of the pyramid. I felt like I was actually there. 😮
Did you also manage to stay at the Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino (5star amazing hotel) ? I lived there for about 6 months while waiting for diplomatic housing to become available for my dad ( well, all of us.) it was SO awesome to live in a 5 star hotel that looked like a peach colored palace, with gold accents, huge pool, and all the room service mango sorbet a girl could want.

What an absolutely stunning hotel , that view is just incredible, looking at one of the 7 wonders of the world . I think the price for the room and that view is pretty darn great . Another very interesting episode Tim , thanks so much , just watching more and more of your videos . Xx
I went inside the great pyramid as an 18yo teen. I'm 36 now and I don't think I could do it again, it was incredibly hot and very cramped. Like a sauna is not an understatement. It was 45c outside, maybe 70c+ inside.
I enjoyed this more than any of your other reviews. And your filming of the great pyramid was better than anything I've seen on television. Breathtaking shots. Made me feel like I was there in person. Thanks and well done!
Wow this looks like the kind of luxury I would really appreciate. The setting is genuinely amazing. Tim you are such a delight to watch, you have such a good sense of humour- I can't help but feel you are destined for tv.
I lived in Cairo for a while. My sister went there and never came back for fifteen years and married an Egyptian who became very rich. I was lucky to stay in most posh hotels and houses. At one point he had the whole of the pyramid site cleared and closed so me and my sister could have a "private viewing". He did this Cairo Museum as well! I was lucky enough to see many things that no one ever saw including artifacts from King Tut and a visit to the presidential palace where we met Anwar El Sadat! One funny story was that in those days you could just clamber up a pyramid to which my sister did and promptly got stuck right at the top of one. In the end the Egyptian Army had to be called out with helicopter to rescue her. It cost my brother-in-Law a small fortune and a fine. Cairo is a fantastic city, even more so if you get off the touristy bits. Also Egyptians are all friendly and welcoming.
Yes I fully agree with you. I lived and worked in Egypt from 1979 - 1980 and again in 1984 during the riots. I loved Egypt and it's people and still often dream of Egypt. Now I am old and live in Indonesia. Lucky me, I traveled the world. 😊
Wow Tim I love this video. I went to Egypt back in ‘92 on my honeymoon and we stayed in Luxor and visited The Valley Of The Kings and then we stayed in Cairo and visited The Pyramids. It is an incredible experience and one that has stayed with me all these years. You’ve brought back so many happy memories and I hope you had a wonderful stay and didn’t get an upset tummy!! ❤

That's one Marriott hotel I would love to stay at. I've lost count of how many of their hotels I've stayed at. Best hotel brand in the world for my money.
I live about two blocks from a Marriott Hotel, have never been in it. My house is good enough for me. But I would like to stay in one at least once. My employer likes us to stay at Holiday Inn Express, which is good enough. But the Cario Marriott has the million dollar view.
@WalkWithMeTim. Congratulations. That was an amazing video, Tim! Outstanding hotel services, fabulous view, and the pyramid tour Just wow! And two bathrooms is heaven on earth especially when you’re traveling with the whole family or at least 2 persons. Stunning male bathroom in that restaurant! I ‘m absolutely stunned! Tim, you are such a fortunate man to be able to travel the world and see sights that others have longed to see. (The pyramids, one of my bucket list places to see), but also, you get to come home to a really cool wife, who happens to be a self sufficient, on-top-of-things person. I don’t know if you always appreciate her enough. She is organised and efficient, yet doesn’t try to boss you about, even when she knows it could be done better! Loved your Iceland video the most so far.

I noticed that too.
'Nit pick' or 'bed bug' pick! 😂
I’m glad you got video because I don’t ever anticipate trying to make that walk.
Opening RUclips to see another video tim was shocked - i was aghast
When you watch you will see why?
Bruh you are playing
@@soundscape26 Tim loves the size of bathroom 😂😂😂😂 I don't know why he always obsessed with bathroom size
A place I would love to visit. What I like in particular is that your vids also take us elsewhere but inside the hotel. Great video. Thank you.
I just discovered your channel today ...
This is AMAZING what a blest life you have my friend !
I know there are many channels about this lifestyle but for some reason i am choosing YOURS , to live imagining , as i watch your adventures , that it's me the one who's living the dream ... MY DREAM LIFE😊
What an absolutely stunning hotel , that view is just incredible, looking at one of the 7 wonders of the world . I think the price for the room and that view is pretty darn great . Another very interesting episode Tim , thanks so much , just watching more and more of your videos . Xx
Thank you so much for taking us inside! It looks so fascinating! 😮
Wow loved the hotel, the pyramid looked awesome on the outside- then you go in and 😮 not what I thought!
Thank you for showcasing it. X
Wow this looks like the kind of luxury I would really appreciate. The setting is genuinely amazing.
Tim you are such a delight to watch, you have such a good sense of humour- I can't help but feel you are destined for tv.
Glad to see you shocked again.
Seems Tim is easily shocked nowadays! LMAO
@@Pantherjonvideos he always says that in just about every vid ....makes ya watch it i guess to see what hes "shocked" about this time lol
You show off 😅lol😂 Nice time had by all eh except sis up that pyramid. Agree nice place Cairo imo too
Anwar Sadat, Rest in peace! was a great man! One day his statue will be made...?
@@Patriot_123 I also was lucky enough to meet Yasser Arafat in a cafe in Gaza.
@@Patriot_123 I think there might be one on 6th October Street near the museum.
Yes I fully agree with you. I lived and worked in Egypt from 1979 - 1980 and again in 1984 during the riots. I loved Egypt and it's people and still often dream of Egypt. Now I am old and live in Indonesia. Lucky me, I traveled the world. 😊
Tim that view is absurd!!! How breathtaking!!! ❤
Tim ! The stones for the the Pyramids came from Tura, a site with limestone quarries just on the other side of the Nile, not from Luxor !
I lost the live chat as I watched the blog on the TV very brave of you Tim to go in a pyramid thank-you for a excellent blog
Very refreshing to see the mini bar prices are that in this kind of hotel, and they're not trying to mug you off like seemingly everywhere else!
I agree re the hallway ~ it's definitely the niicest one I've ever seen in any hotel. Fab video Tim!
This looked another amazing hotel you stayed in with fantastic views of the Pyramids and looks an amazing place for holiday , great review as always Tim 👍
Wow what an amazing vlog one of your best ones ❤ what a room with a view 😍 not sure you’re going to beat that one although you can have a good time trying 🤣
One of the best hotels Tim, great vlog thankyou 😊
tbh its one I really liked
Hi Tim Wow what a lovely hotel. I think your room was most probably separate at one point . Lovely view of the pyramids . I couldn't go in that pyramid it's to claustrophobic for me . Great vlog Tim . Thanks for sharing with us love to you as always Tracey ❤❤❤
Oh Cairo, I remember when I went and I was transformed into a walking wallet in the eyes of those around me offering “Egyptian hospitality”. It’s hard work there.
I won't go to any North African country ever again... You could offer me a free stay in a 5-star all-inclusive hotel for a week and I still wouldn't go!
@@davidholgate123interesting! My parents said the same, essentially. Would love to know more about your experience
Lived in Libya for a year sheer hell@@davidholgate123
@@davidholgate123 noooo please come we will die if you don’t 😂😏
@@davidholgate123 not cool to generalise David, try visit Algeria, the feeling is SO different to Morocco & Egypt, we don't ask for tips nor are pushy, we help with our hearts. If you ever visit, you'll see for yourself :)
Another amazing post! Really beautiful flowers at 15:15 and the view, especially at dusk was amazing. I'm claustrophobic and always overheat in heat so I would die in the pyramid for sure. Best, from Colorado!
Loved this video. I like how Tim's videos inspire you to follow up and research on a destination/hotel like this. They make you hungry to visit them yourself.
The hotel looked excellent especially the pool areas. Food looked delicious. Pyramid trip was fantastic but wouldn't travel in summer wouldn't enjoy if too hot.
Thanks
OMG What a great job of showing this place. How lucky you are to travel, So glad you share your time on youtube.
Wow I'm so envious, it looks amazing thankyou Tim, you covered everything
I know the Mena Hotel from 1979 when it was still run by Oberoi. I worked in Egypt in Tourism.
I loved the hotel then and I am very impressed with all the changes. Very nice video. Thank you for that
Great video, Tim. The grounds and the views were truly amazing. Keep 'em coming!
Another excellent video, Tim. You've developed a particular style and now you're including some quality documentary-type content.
That hotel is all about the location, which, as you say, is one of the best in the world.
One of my favourite places you have shown. Really wonderful.
Strange question, I love your channel and am currently binge watching . Do u use follow or FPV on your pocket 2. I have the same camera but u are much better at using it. Had a look at the pocket 3 and I met well upgrade, looks amazing. All the best. 👍👍🙏🙏

You were shown on a Quebec TV show tonight called Vlog at 5pm EST that showcased (in a segment) airline reviewers on Instagram and the like, and they showed your mug in first class showcasing the beverage selections that the flight had on your left side. TVA was the Network.
Thoroughly enjoyed it all! Thank you!!❤
thank you so much!
What’s Hotel called?
Tim, you are such a fortunate man to be able to travel the world and see sights that others have longed to see. (The pyramids, one of my bucket list places to see), but also, you get to come home to a really cool wife, who happens to be a self sufficient, on-top-of-things person. I don’t know if you always appreciate her enough.
She is organised and efficient, yet doesn’t try to boss you about, even when she knows it could be done better!
Loved your Iceland video the most so far.
Loved the cheeky UFO and face-plantings 😂
Did I use cheeky correctly? I'm American ☺️😂
@@soulspinyou did, yes!
You mean the UFO was not real? Lol 😂
I was saying out loud as you were saying in the video about the amazing hallways and the incredible space! 😊
What an amazing view as well!
Such an amazing hotel and view! ❤
