I first heard this in about 2010, and it sounded like it was from outer space. The fact that it sounds utterly mainstream now is a testament to how much Chris changed drumming.
Very much! It‘s just amazing with how much confidence he already played his style back than even though no one did it like that before. Nowadays some kind of this playing is expected from a well rounded drummer.
I met Dennis Chambers one time at a studio and he mentioned to me that I should check out Chris dave and man I'll tell ya ever since then this dude has been my favorite drummer. i truly believe he's the best in the world ! his perspective on time
@Emanuel Romero, the chords they play are taken from a Chick Corea tune called "Paint the World" off the Chick Corea Electric Band II record of the same name.
Chris Dave with only one snare? With cymbals that look like cymbals? Cymbals without ball chains on them? Cymbals that aren't a three cymbal stack? Cymbals that aren't carved out into a spiral? This must be old Chris Dave.
Always providing some of the scariest top shelf drumming I have ever seen. His interpretation of time is beyond any type of realm in which words could ever begin to properly convey.

exactly. No one played like this or anything like it before Chris

That's DADDY DAVE 4 ya. KILLER vid loved the BAND
ドラムが最高なのはもちろん、ずっと繰り返されるテーマがクールなのにとろけるようで耳を離さないですね。
NANI!?!
His grooves are so hip hop
My daddy used to say that it reminded him of bebop
He is a student of polyrhythm. So its not what's on the surface that counts really it's all internalized
@@paxwallacejazz beautiful wisdom
