Thank you a million times. Wife’s 2010 pilot had the same codes. Turns out it was the tube.
You just made my heart leap for Joy! Figuring Po171/174 code, i followed everything from the beginning and found a gigantic rip/hole in my intake boot! Thank you so much!
My pilot threw that code and sure enough it was a worn out cracked air inlet hose. Easy fix and saved me a bunch of money. Thanks for this video!
I've left 2 comments on RUclips videos EVER. This being my second! So thankful for this video! It was exactly what I needed! Found the problem with my air intake hose, bought a replacement, had my 9yo son put the part in and we were back on the road!
Hey man awesome to hear the video helped you out. Thanks for dropping a comment!
You just fixed my car in 2 minutes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Same crack. Ran to O'Reilly and paid $40, fixed in 15 minutes. Hardest part was getting the barbed metal tube to come out. I cut it with a razor knife. Thanks!
awesome!
Same vehicle - same exact crack in the hose in the same place. Brilliant video - so helpful!
Glad it helped!
I dont comment on youtube videos but this is what was wrong with mine and i just skipped over looking at the hose. Thank you!!!
4 years later your video is still saving people money and letting us repair our own car.
Also was the cracked air intake hose on my 2011 Honda pilot. 185k miles. Cheap fix. Happy I didn't go down the other more pita paths.
Thank you so much.. my wife's 2016 honda odyssey same issue broke intake tube.
Would love to see a video where you test the EGR system with a smoke machine. I’m throwing a p0171 on my 2006 Ridgeline and I suspect there’s a small intermittent leak somewhere around one of those bolts on that EGR plate.
Brilliant!! 2011 Pilot 154,000 miles. Same code. Checked tube and mine was cracked too. $40 part at Autozone, 10 Minute fix at home. What a great video. Thank you soo much.
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks
I gave an annoying issue that I haven't resolved on my 2005 honda odyssey, which has the same engine and components as that 2009 honda pilot. The codes are P1174 which I don't know what I should replace, also have code p0305. Prior to having p0305 I had p0304 and sometimes both. I HAVE REPLACED,IDDLE SENSOR,4 OXYGEN SENSORS,GASKETS ON AIR INTAKE,SPARK PLUGS AND COILS,PCV VALVE. MY LAST ATTEMPT WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE VVT SOLENOID BY CYLINDER 5. ANY OPINIONS.
First comment on a RUclips video. I’ve got a 2011 Honda Odyssey, exact same problem. I didn’t see the crack, but your video made me check more closely. You fixed my problem!
Great to hear!
Was yours giving a rough idle
Says you only have 29 subs and I think that's crazy! This is a great vid and I had the exact same problem on a 05 Accord!
I put this video on my 2nd Channel because I wasn't super thrilled with the quality of it. My main channel is NoNonsenseKnowHow. Happy to hear you found the video helpful! Thanks
This was it. Thank you. Easy fix!
Thank you great video clear and useful intel ❤
Thank you for posting …. Thumbs up
Great help
Problem solved! Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
Nice video, I have a 2010 Acura TL with the 3.5L V6. I have both the P0171 and P0174 codes. My car is currently at 158,000 miles and the other day it came up.
I checked for vacuum leaks but nothing. What else could be causing this issue?
Thanks!!!
holy shit.. I just had this code pop up in my wifes Pilot and immediately went and checked the intake boot. Yup it was ripped.
Mine had the ripped intake hose ,I got to replace it . Few week later the check engine lights came on and car sputter.
I was going to clean the air flow sensor but I'm worried I might burn it out ,do to it having a computer looking chip on it
Thank you so much, mega subscribe and like!!
Thanks for sharing.
Wouldn't an air leak, or a faulty map sensor affect both banks?
Thanks
Sooo , the 'not wheelying' part got away from you very quickly . 😁
Man thanks a lot 👍👍👍
Exact problem with my 2007 Accord with the four cylinder. Part was 40.00 at Advance Auto. Dorman #696-739. Thank you.
Awesome, glad to hear it helped you out! It's a little bit cheaper on Amazon. Only $25. Link in the description
kzguy2 Yeah I figured it would be but my daughter heads back to college tomorrow so can’t wait. But still cheaper than taking it to a garage. Have a good one.
@@brianturner914 Gotcha. you too man!
Hi KZ guy, my reading is 175 gas to rich on bank2
I need help with my 2008 acura tl type s it's throwing those same codes and I changed the boot the 2 upstream oxygen sensors and cleaned the map sensor what could it be?
Needs diag. Hard to guess over txt
I do have the OBDII Scanner and it read P0171. But my car won't start. Yesterday my husband gave me a jump. So we thought it was the batterry. Now this morning it won't take the jump, not allowing me to open door with automatic car remote and nothing is turning over when I put the key in and turn the ignition.
Starter
I have both those codes check my car 4 leaks didn't see any leaks
My hose is cracked just like that, do I need to clear codes after i change part?
You dont have to . But its good to. They will eventually clear themselves
Problem solved 08 accord v6 thanks olot
No problem! Glad it helped
I've smoke tested it no leaks....it keeps popping a p0171 code it goes away and then pops a p0174 code.......back and forth.....
Same here! Did you ever figure it out?
@@MrSamPhoenix have you scanned it recently?
Can this give you a rough idle
