Saying that there isn't anything to dig up in the USA is not accurate. Look at the scale of the landscape in the USA versus the UK. I feel like there is plenty to find in the USA if the funding is there. Great podcast, and thanks for educating us!
There is archeology in the USA and north America but as the majority of the population migrated here from other parts of the globe, there is just not as much interest in the native history and discoveries. For example, Florida has a rich history but a lot of the archeology is covered by cities and communities. People with European ancestry don’t feel connected to that history and give it little notice. Also, the landmass is so large that the archeology isn’t found just anywhere. Much love to Time Team!

Sutton Hoo is, and always been important, ever since its first discovery. And the more found, the more questions are asked.
