Josh I know you don't sell them, but can you get a tour of the Luxe factory or at least review one? Your opinion matters as you are seriously one of the most knowledgeable and trustworthy reviewers out there.
Love these factory tours. How these are manufactured is amazing and appears to be well thought out and executed. Thank you for your input and opinions on the various builders. Kudos to the Amish and others who work hard to provide us with such cool living spaces.
Thank you Josh for this video! We recently bought a 2021 Cedar Creek 36CK2 and are very happy with the quality of everything in it! We traded in a 2022 Voltage Toy Hauler that was so cheaply made. Cabinet doors falling off, staple tips sticking out, drawer sliders flying off...and that was after three short trips! You're the best!
Josh, believe it(or not) , we ordered our CC Cottage CK2 about 2 months ago. Your video couldn't have hit us at a better time. We were told by our salesperson that roll out is scheduled for 9/28. You've certainly added confidence to our purchase! Thanks!!🤗
I’m glad this is helpful Robert. If you found it beneficial, then please consider dropping me a quick review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review It’ll cost you nothing and I would sure appreciate it
I have a Forest River, Ceader Creek, Silver Back 5th wheel. It's 20 years old and it's still in great condition and I still love it. I'm glad to see how it was made. Thanks for making this video.
THANK YOU for sharing. This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about -- they're made for LONG ownership. The cool part? The RVs in this video are still built essentially exactly the same as yours even after all this time!
Josh great tour. Every time that you tour a factory you take the time & explain each process👏👏👏. Now I know how they’re built & the materials that they use. I understand why a used one cost more than Cougar the same size & interior/exterior. Those destination Cottage one would be great for stationary full timing & the fifth wheel ones on the road full timing. Thanks a bunch

Ok now I just want to strip my 5th wheel down to the frame again .I almost had approval from the wife last time I brought it up 😂.I'm sold the framing on the walls and main frame and the stability from the exact measurements is incredible . thanks for the vid and to inside look
Thank you! I'm keeping these in mind for sure. Looking at purchasing a destination trailer in one or two years. These sound great. I'll be checking into your factory tours again before we purchase.
I have a Ceader Creek that is 21 years old. I would not own anything else. I would like you to go back and do a short video on the 5th wheel side of the plant. Thanks for doing what you do.

Hey Josh. Haven’t seen any Cedar Creek updates for about a year, and they made a lot of updates for 2025. Will you be doing any ew videos? Would love to see a full Cedar creek vs experience compare and see it included on one of your initial/ overall quality comparison. Would also love to see a full timer quality comparison for various RLS type floor plans. Thanks for continuing to bring the most in depth and informative reviews in the internet…not just the skin!
Thank you. Good video. Educational. Focus on long lasting and temperature climate cold warmer options. I was fortunate on a used rv to have the extra insulation.
Hi Josh! We love your vids and the wealth of information you provide in them! We’d love to see you showcase the Cedar Creek 3125rd and 3325bh 😊 those are two we may have finally narrowed our search down to for full time living in the mountains. But we have time yet, so it may change yet again. Thank you!!!
I believe welding the aluminum would be cost prohibitive due to the special labor force. The would be very strong ,However, it would be overkill mfg. Awesome video JTRVN. (Sincerely a Fellow nerd)
Very high level of quality; I love the aluminium weldless structure! At the opposite, it would be nice to get a factory tour of cheap and affordable travel trailer brands (wooden structure and aluminium siding) i.e. Jayco, Keystone, Cherokee... Love your videos 👍
Also the Amish guy that trained most of the staff has a shop just for Cedar Creek’s in Topeka IN, about 2 miles from the factory. Amish Family RV, normally about 5 months behind.

Hey @JoshtheRVNerd, after watching this video, I couldn't help but wonder if Cedar Creek and Riverstone share upper management like you mentioned about other Forest River brands. Excellent video btw!

This video obviously follows their build processes. Here's one of their destination models I was able to cover: ruclips.net/video/RSf6l6w-lv4/видео.html

First let me say love your videos and info you provide. I am looking for best cold weather R/Vs for full time living. Would you recommend Cedar Creek as one of those? I have been looking at Keystone Montana just based on some other research. Your thoughts on Montana would also be appreciated?
Cedar creek, Montana, North Point, Solitude, Paradigm, Pinnacle, Cougar, Eagle, Avenue, Reflection.. they're all 0-100 degree tested and proven MFGs dont typically test beyond that so while some may be capable of further I can't really offer any sort of assurances they MFG hasn't
If you had to choose between full body paint and sticking with Cedar Creek’s gel coat which do you think would be the better option Josh? Thanks for the info.
Hey Josh. Got a couple questions about a couple things you've said here...Here we go! You said something I want to REALLY pick your brain on and you said "THE BEST BUILT IN THEIR CLASS" Do you honestly believe that? No argument, don't get me wrong. It's just, the video of you going through the North Point/Pinnacle plant is what made my decision finalized with me buying this Jayco North Point 377RLBH. Before, when we were shopping, back more than a "few" years ago, I had always believed the Jayco brand was garbage. Then I saw the videos here on YT and went to the local Jayco dealership with the sales guy showing me the suspension, the build of interior, etc.... I think you understand being the experience you've got seeing the upper models of Jayco....They are in the upper class of the middle class 5th wheels out there, right? Okay, let's just boil this down.... -Compared to Jayco. The "LUXURY" models. The pinnacle/ North Point (being both built at the same factory) Then the Ceder Creek. How would you compare the two/three to each other? Or am I misunderstanding that they are in the same class of RV? (Assuming so) -Suspension? Frame strength/attention to detail with weight when build is complete with the frame? -How often each are in the shop at your dealership location? -The comfort/luxury comfort. Reliability. Ya know.... which one is just THAT much better built? Or are they a side by side equal comparison? -And then... did you say the ceder creek is only an 8 foot width body? Not a wide body? Don't get me wrong... I'm not one of "those guys" that are Brand Proud or loyal, you know the guys.... Chevy, Ford and the Ram guys that ONLY buy 'THEIR' brand and loyal to it. Not anything like that. Just looking for what our options of a quality rig for our eventual upgrade from this one we picked up a year and half ago. (Regret getting the bunk house model. Takes a lot away from the living part!) Knowing other brand's quality gives me that much more of a solid feeling or relief when we do the next purchase. I know I've said it before but I'll go ahead and suck the corn outta your ass one more time and tell you again...Keep this up, my friend. You're doing a great job with some great information that we, us RV folk appreciate more than you know. Thanks again sir! Chris Chapman
Long comment - I'll do my best not to miss stuff but youtube makes it difficult for a channel operate to see a full comment while replying *BEST BUILT IN THEIR CLASS:* Depends on how you qualify that comment so it's fair to ask. TO DATE in my experience I've seen older cedar creeks that were often neglected hold up very well long term. Sometimes the skin/decals are rough but the structure is almost always good. They seem to be a brand that is longer lasting vs. the industry average *NORTH POINT vs CEDAR CREEK:* Jayco has been doing some great work there and since this video was recorded they've advanced the NP line a bit in terms of features and the now 102" wide body it lacked before. Jayco orders a bulkier chassis vs. many mainstream builders which really helps. Again, from my experience cedar creek's structure is extremely long lasting and hard to beat. I wouldn't turn my nose up at a Jayco. Cedar spends a little more money on their body structure while jayco spends more on their features and cosmetics *HOW OFTEN AT MY SHOP:* While we carry both Jayco and Cedars in our lineup at Bish's my home store only carries Jayco so I don't really see the return-for-service rates on a Cedar and lack access to our warranty/service stats to answer this more objectively for you. I don't want to just wing out an answer that's unqualified. I feel good about both but "feeling" isn't "knowing" *COMFORT/LUXURY:* I'll give the north point the nod here. Again - cedars spending more on the skeleton leaves less budget available for "Trim package features" *BODY SIZE:* Yes. 8ft wide. They're a classic brand that's been around quite a while before the wide body concepts had popularity
I know you will give an almost fence post answer here, but which is better the Cedar Creek or the Jayco Eagle FW? I have watched all the tours, I think I am going to get the eagle, for many reasons, I am a Jayco fanboy, I do think they do a lot of little things better and that is important to me and most of all the Jaysmart lighting
My two cents between these: Structurally? I think cedar creek is the best built thing for the money out there For tech and visual elements it’s eagle hands down
They're two very, very different things that really aren't comparable. For long term lifespans I've seen great results in even the older used market from cedars
@@JoshtheRVNerd You're kind of leaving it up in the air for me I have an 08 cedar Creek silverback and I'm thinking in a year or so I'm going to upgrade but it'll be between another cedar Creek or Antarctic fox. I value your opinion. So you have two identical fifth wheels made by Arctic fox cedar Creek just the way you like and you want it to be four seasons capable. So which one would you choose?. I'm putting you on the spot.
Not tour related, but am hoping you'll have an answer: Is there a particular reason (not related to cost, as it's not much more expensive than a big tv) that manufacturers don't use projectors and pivot mounted roll-down screens to free up more storage or window space by not having a tv unit? Most projectors now "center" their projections so that even if the screen is at an angle the picture appears centered and clear, which would be good for the people who need 2 couches, but less important to those like me who would tear out the 2nd couch to put in a desk/cat zone.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Ahh, but I'm noticing the younger generations are starting to get more and more interested in trailers, rv's, and motor homes as either viable options other than buying a house, or as a way to see the continent. And they usually want the best tech gadgets to play with even while on vacation. Just imagine, being able to take the projector (and possibly speaker) outside and watch a big screen movie on a sheet stretched between 2 trees or on the side of a big white trailer. :D Summer suspense/murder movies would have way more impact when watched in a dark forest... For those weird folks that love to be scared. Hahaha
That’s a good question.. I don’t know that I have an answer. You’re the first to ask. Man.. you really got me thinking. I think I’m having a hard time because I respect them both so heavily
Josh - do any Bish's locations sell Cedar Creeks? We are Bish's fans, but are considering a Cedar Creek 5th wheel, but can't find any at any of the locations...
Great video! I noticed one thing that bothers me; the wiring looks as if it could rub on the aluminum studs and cause a problem! Do they put a plastic or rubber grommet in that wasn't shown?
@@andyjackson7475 THANK YOU for the time stamp. That's soooooo helpful! Yeah there are grommets. That's code. I figured they had to be there but they can be easy to miss. You have good eyes! :)
I have a 2021 291RW and am concerned about wood floor rot in my bedroom slide. I maintain my caulking around all seems, but still wonder if this will help. Seeing that they now put composite flooring in the slide floors is kind of an admission that they have had design issues in the past. Thoughts?
I think you’re reading into the choice a bit but I understand the connection based on your experience. I’ve seen cedars that were 17 years old without slide floor problems. What you’re experiencing isn’t common but I dont doubt its happening
@@JoshtheRVNerd Josh, great video and its always nice to see the behind the scenes of these RVs, but pardon my ignorance as I have to ask you something, you used the example of a tree branch pokes through the roof membrane and water is able to get it, you stated that the structure won't rot.. how is that possible with the walls full of wood/luan?
I know these aren't welded aluminum framed rv's. But I've noticed ones that are only have welds on 2 of the 4 sides where the square tubing pieces meet. Would you happen to know why?
Can you explain what a park model is compared to a TT or 5th? I understand parks are heavier and 6” wider. But do you have to hire a specialist to tow it if you need to move it to a new place or can it be towed with a 1 ton or heavier?
Thank you Josh. I’ve been following you for a few years now and I must of slept through this class. It answers my questions. If I upgrade to a larger RV, I am thinking of parking it and use my 1 ton for a truck camper. Live in the 5th. But your video showed me the difference between the two and storage. What I thought was, there could come a time when I might move it a better park, I could tow the park model and keep the truck camper on. I learn so much about RV’s from your videos that help me understand differences in them. We have a 2003 Aspen that we bought brand new. So as you can see, I don’t jump in and out of buying RV’s. Some day I hope I can meet up with you and talk about this stuff. Plus, we share the same sense of humor or that’s what my wife says.
What is your input on KZ? Looking at a Venom toy hauler and there’s not much information out there about KZ as a whole. Seems like a great built rig although after watching this my mind is now racing with questions about build quality. Sincerely appreciate your videos brother!!
Years ago I ranked them among the bargain basement builders But again - that was years ago Since then I have lost a feel for them and no longer feel qualified to comment as I don’t really know how they’re doing currently
@@barbaracherry1082 I'd be happy to approach them with an open mind. Brands can change over time obviously. I've had an increasing number of requests for them which I see as a good sign. We don't have them at many of our stores so I just don't bump into them regularly
@@JoshtheRVNerd Josh, I’ve been surprised to not see all that many around. Putting out 10 Durangos a day keeps the numbers down, I suppose. When shopping, I researched construction before floorplans, and their choices are intriguing. I’d love to hear your impressions. Thanks for sharing all your objective information!
Josh I love your videos. I have to disagree with you on Cedar Creek quality. We couldn’t wait to see a 388rk in person at the Hershey show this year. It looked so nice in the videos. In person it’s disappointing. I saw so many gaps on the valences. They put a smaller stove and dishwasher for this year. The cabinets and doors in the bath and bedroom are cheaply made. Overall we will not be buying any Cedar Creek rvs. Riverstone is at the top of our list now. Cost more but you get what you pay for.

Hey Josh. Got a couple questions about a couple things you've said here...Here we go!
You said something I want to REALLY pick your brain on and you said "THE BEST BUILT IN THEIR CLASS"
Do you honestly believe that?
(Assuming so)
-Suspension?

Long comment - I'll do my best not to miss stuff but youtube makes it difficult for a channel operate to see a full comment while replying
*BEST BUILT IN THEIR CLASS:* Depends on how you qualify that comment so it's fair to ask. TO DATE in my experience I've seen older cedar creeks that were often neglected hold up very well long term. Sometimes the skin/decals are rough but the structure is almost always good. They seem to be a brand that is longer lasting vs. the industry average
*NORTH POINT vs CEDAR CREEK:* Jayco has been doing some great work there and since this video was recorded they've advanced the NP line a bit in terms of features and the now 102" wide body it lacked before. Jayco orders a bulkier chassis vs. many mainstream builders which really helps.
Again, from my experience cedar creek's structure is extremely long lasting and hard to beat. I wouldn't turn my nose up at a Jayco. Cedar spends a little more money on their body structure while jayco spends more on their features and cosmetics
*HOW OFTEN AT MY SHOP:* While we carry both Jayco and Cedars in our lineup at Bish's my home store only carries Jayco so I don't really see the return-for-service rates on a Cedar and lack access to our warranty/service stats to answer this more objectively for you. I don't want to just wing out an answer that's unqualified. I feel good about both but "feeling" isn't "knowing"
*COMFORT/LUXURY:* I'll give the north point the nod here. Again - cedars spending more on the skeleton leaves less budget available for "Trim package features"
*BODY SIZE:* Yes. 8ft wide. They're a classic brand that's been around quite a while before the wide body concepts had popularity
Thank you so much for this@@JoshtheRVNerd. Once again, you truly are appreciated.
Vist ahara factory thank you.
My two cents between these:
Structurally? I think cedar creek is the best built thing for the money out there
For tech and visual elements it’s eagle hands down
Keystone Arcadia is a hot one right now I see in my research.. can you check them out? Thx Josh, love ya
They're about to get whole lot better. Keystone put their best designer on them. Next year or two they're going to evolve quickly
Cedar Creek 5th wheel or a Arctic fox fifth wheel. Which would you choose? Based on quality longevity.
Not tour related, but am hoping you'll have an answer:
Is there a particular reason (not related to cost, as it's not much more expensive than a big tv) that manufacturers don't use projectors and pivot mounted roll-down screens to free up more storage or window space by not having a tv unit? Most projectors now "center" their projections so that even if the screen is at an angle the picture appears centered and clear, which would be good for the people who need 2 couches, but less important to those like me who would tear out the 2nd couch to put in a desk/cat zone.
Not easily integrated into existing designs if I had to guess
Also many target rvers are very tech adverse and won’t purchase what they don’t understand or aren’t comfortable with
@@JoshtheRVNerd Ahh, but I'm noticing the younger generations are starting to get more and more interested in trailers, rv's, and motor homes as either viable options other than buying a house, or as a way to see the continent. Hahaha
How would you compare the build of this manufacturer to Northwoods and Outdoors RV?
That’s a good question.. I don’t know that I have an answer. You’re the first to ask.
Man.. you really got me thinking.
I think I’m having a hard time because I respect them both so heavily
Josh - do any Bish's locations sell Cedar Creeks? We are Bish's fans, but are considering a Cedar Creek 5th wheel, but can't find any at any of the locations...
Absolutely. Our site will show you what we stock
Hey Josh, do you know of any Class A RVs that are made the same way as the cedar creek?
I do not, though I would definitely add I'm very much a towable specialist who lacks a great deal of motorized insights
Great video! I noticed one thing that bothers me; the wiring looks as if it could rub on the aluminum studs and cause a problem! Do they put a plastic or rubber grommet in that wasn't shown?
Can you provide me a minute marker I can reference? Might give me a chance to send a screenshot to the factory for clarity.
@@JoshtheRVNerd . Around 27:14. Looking at it again, maybe there are grommets in the stud, but not the wall hole.
@@andyjackson7475 THANK YOU for the time stamp. That's soooooo helpful! Yeah there are grommets. That's code. I figured they had to be there but they can be easy to miss.
You have good eyes! :)
check out alliance rv would be great!!!
I have a 2021 291RW and am concerned about wood floor rot in my bedroom slide. I maintain my caulking around all seems,
but still wonder if this will help.
Cost cutting and time restrictions. A LOT of RV's are built cheaper than we'd like to think.
Is a Big Big Deal; makes a huge difference in build quality
Winniebago Micro Minnie factory tour please
I wish.. they don’t allow outside filming in their facilities. I’ve been asking for YEARS
Can you explain what a park model is compared to a TT or 5th? I understand parks are heavier and 6” wider. But do you have to hire a specialist to tow it if you need to move it to a new place or can it be towed with a 1 ton or heavier?
See here m.ruclips.net/video/cHULB-Prq_I/видео.html
Years ago I ranked them among the bargain basement builders
But again - that was years ago
Since then I have lost a feel for them and no longer feel qualified to comment as I don’t really know how they’re doing currently
I also would love an up-to-date KZ fifth wheel tour. Would they change your mind now? My curiosity is peaked!!!
Thanks for sharing all your objective information!
anybody else miss the old josh?
No. What's your point?
😁😁😁
@@avalanche3084 all friends here. Cheers!
Too big for me. Would love to hear your opinion on the BEST BUILT smaller travel trailers.
Hard to beat the build of a Northwood/ORV
pound for pound / dollar for dollar / I think Rockwood is about the best overall brand out there currently
@@JoshtheRVNerd appreciate your insight Josh.
Does Jayco build them that way as well?
See my factory tour playlist. I have four jayco factories recorded
Josh does cedar creek make toy haulers?
Not really. They made one with a small garage below a bedroom but not sure they're still making that one
Hi Josh, when you reviewed the "Brinkley" you mentioned a new roof sealant in place of the usual self leveling goo, whats the new stuff???
Thanks!
I want ours built directly from the mfg….with minor changes… tell me to much an ask
Riverstone and Cedar Creek are sister brands really. As you mentioned Riverstone is basically a "Cedar Creek Plus"

Are you no longer an unpaid spokesman for Keystone and jayco?
I happily represent all kinds of brands. They’re still major parts of our lineup here
