Hi my name is Lilly and I am an American expat living on the island of Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand for the last 9 years. My husband is Thai and his name is Wat. We have two boys named Luke and Leon and a new baby girl named Lyla. Nam is our Nanny and she is like family to us. She is from Myanmar and has worked for us for over 7 years.

If Leon is crying that much then he's not ready for school. Also, a month of crying is too long. I worked with all age groups in a preschool. Kids who don't adapt after 2 weeks never really get used to it. It may be better to just send Luke and keep Leon home a little while longer. He'll see his brother leave and come home happy and eventually decide to join him on his own. Maybe Watt can take him to a park to work off his energy.
Yep, that’s child abuse. A baby that young doesn’t understand that you have to leave them!!!
@@MegaOzzy28 child abuse is such a strong statement. sometimes u just let kids to try and adapt. i sent mine at 18 mos and after few mos of fits and crying shes now happy in school
And to laugh like she does and then sneaking out is the worst Leon will lose trust in his parents sneaking out instead of telling him Mom And Dad will be back
Yes Leon will get used to going to school but needs time. The only one besides Wat that took total care of Leon from the time he was born was Nam so hevreally doesnt know other people very well he will learn ti trust others as time goes on.
Nam has been more like a Mom to him Nam had Leon caring for him everyday mostly Wat helped when he was at home. After work but Nam had been the caretaker for Leon more then Luke Leon stayed home with Nam almost all the time so he really only knew Nam.
It breaks my heart when little Leon cries at school. I wanna give him a hug🥺

Not all. I stood there hoping my daughter would look back and wave, but she saw all the kids and woohoo..time to have fun. She didn't give me a second thought. LOL She grew up to be a strong, independent, loving woman.

Hello! As a mom and educator, I would like to give you a little tip that will make your children feel more secure. Whenever you go out, let them know that you will leave and in simple words, explain the reason. Just imagine what would you feel if your husband or nanny leaves hiding from you. You will probably wonder what happened to them. For the children is the same, but it is more dramatic and traumatic because they depend on you. What happens is that the children will think that anytime you will dissappear and that creates insecurity and fear. I hope this helps you, you have a beautiful family!
The children are fine, this is normal behaviour as there are two other caregivers in the house. If the kids want to kn ow where mummy is, they can ask.

I live up in NE Thailand & I never see the young fathers hold their kids or help their wives out with the children. Heartwarming to see Wat spend time with his kids and be a loving father.

@@rodrozil6544 Totally a different attitude with most local men. The young Thai women with a couple kids are lucky to have the husband/ partner around after 8..10 years. It seems to be accepted that the woman and grandparents raise the kids and it’s “normal” for the husband or boyfriend to eventually take off and find a new wife some day. Of course the better educated young men living in the cities seem to be more responsible.

Good day to u. Like all the others said this is normal. I was a lead toddler teacher and we had littles that did this also. I remember how parents were so nervous and thought it would always be that way. We even suggested try half days. Drop off morning and come and get them after lunch. Eventually they would add extra hour till they were staying all day. Your doing fantastic . Thanks for sharing your life.

So happy they are in school and Leon he will get use to it... It just takes time just let him know you love him and he is your little man... @@brilliantbutblue For some. My boys never cried or got upset because they knew we were coming back. In my years volunteering at school, I saw about 10% upset the first couple of days of Kindergarten. For preschool, the number was probably more like 20%. It's not all at all.

Everybody should make his own choices and experiences BUT if I see that my child cries and is obviously sad and I don't have to work, I would keep that child at home. That means he needs me and is not ready to stay away from the parents. But as I said: that's a private decision.

I just love you and your family Lilly. I plan to visit Thailand toward the end if this year. If we go to Kaw Samui, I will definitely look you up. I am a Thai Christian but have been living in the US for the last 49 years. I accepted Christ in Ubon, Thailand when I was in 10 grade(15 years old). God has been richly blessed me and my family tremendously. Our two sons and their families are truly blessed with their intelligent and good professional career. I am so thankful for you and your family when I saw you in one of your video that you have accepted Christ to be your savior. I prayed that you would continue to witness to the Thais-everyone needs a savior! There is nothing that God cannot you if you are faithful in praying and trusting Him with all your heart and soul.
