This looks like a great warm up before over head pressing, thanks man

Coaching tip: As a variation, you can lie, chest down, on an adjustable bench that’s set to a low incline.

I'll try this tomorrow. I'd like to see some videos about building explosive power with dumbells please!

Because of the rotation, I imagine this exercise is supposed to be done with light weights only, e.g., as a warm-up for heavier sets, correct?

Yes, Sir. Please let me know what topics you would like me to cover.

I have been having shoulder pain from this exercise but I can't find why...

Use a pain-free range of motion. If that's not possible, swap the exercise with an alternate move.

Does this exercise also hit the lower traps?

The lower trapezius are responsible for pulling your shoulder blades down, so yes. But a bent-over lat row may do a better job, if the lower traps are your focus. And it’s an excellent horizontal pulling move that everyone should do. Check out these bodyweight variations here… www.TacticalBodyweightWorkouts.com
