      Toe-hop steps like that are why I went through shoes so quickly lol. I loved the move, but I rarely used proper support so when my shoes got too "loved" my heels would just sink to the ground and I wouldn't even notice half the time 😂

    what's the name of this tune

    • @erincoreyy
      @erincoreyy 8 лет назад +3

      The music is played by real musicians with instruments, not off a soundtrack. Unfortunately there is no name. But, the musicians are Dean Crouch, Liam O' Sullivan and Anthony Davis if you want to hear some their tunes!

    The dancer at 1:02 doesn’t have such a good heavy jig because the beat does not go with the jig. But otherwise nice heel technique!

    • @erikm8372

      If it’s the guy at 1:02 , then that is not the moment of any potential misstep. I think it’s hard to tell on RUclips; but if anything, between minute 01:25 and 01:30 he may have been thrown off, briefly, by something… maybe I’m wrong, but I noticed a SLIGHT bit of trepidation, some hesitance in his rhythms during those few seconds… then again, it’s a video. It might have been picked up wrong on audio. And minute 01:02 is certainly no error…

      +Maggie Moo I like Amy too! Just not this step. As a guy, I like lots of rolling rallies in heavy jigs and hers were too many toe stands imo. She still does them excellently, but the style is just not to my likings. But that's just my personal opinion. She is still a fab dancer

      Jane McGrath Actually i notice alot of boy dancers do NOT point their toes when they need to. Im only an Adavanced Beginner but that is just what i think.

    Beautiful dancing. Terrible wigs. Natural hair is much better, worn up or down.

    in the name of JC, get rid of the horrific wigs, and have nice simple dresses! The girls are the worst versions of barbies imaginable!

    • @hannahlinn5605
      @hannahlinn5605 7 лет назад +15

      To get rid of wigs and intricate dresses would be breaking long held traditions. They're a deep rooted part of the culture surrounding Irish dance and I suggest you look them up before criticizing them. If a girl doesn't want to wear a wig, she doesn't have to. If she doesn't want to wear a solo dress, she doesn't have to. The dresses and wigs are merely components of the presentation of the talent and skill that the dancers of this level must possess. Also, how are they barbies, the worst versions of them, none the less? Irish dance takes skill, time, effort, dedication, practice, and so many other things to preform, not to mention at this level. No one is judging them on their dress, their hair, or makeup. As I said before, these are just components of the presentation. All the adjudicators are looking at is the dancing. That's the only thing that will get a dancer placed. A pretty dress never won anyone worlds. These Irish Dancing events aren't beauty pageants, they're competitions, hard fought, and hard won. I suggest you you educate yourself on a subject before insulting it and forcing your own uneducated opinion of it upon others, because the only thing you insulted right now is your own intelligence.

    • @Isa-db8mx

      sbranagh1 could you not srsly it’s a MAJOR blow to confidence to the girl dancers and it’s very harsh so if you have something mean and not asked for comments keep it to yourself jeeeeeeeeez

      @@hannahlinn5605 the culture and the beauty and strength of the Irish dance was never like that when I was doing Irish dancing. No wigs. No fake tan, no dresses that weighed a tonne. Attention was placed on deportment, the placement of feet and overall the quality of dance. I adore Irish dancing. I am Irish to the core.. I just prefer the old style. The bling doesn't replace the beauty of the simple dress with the hand stitched Celtic designs. My dresses were stunning gold fabric with intricate celtic embroidery. But I know times change. But the Irish culture shouldn't be diluted out to be fair.
