Fresh off the press. Uploaded just yesterday by the excellent Vibracobra23 channel. This was probably the first time kids in England heard this fine punk band. I believe their first two songs were in the stores the same day as this Peel session was broadcast--October 27, 1980. Rob A Bank (Wanna) and the great Intensive Care were included on Oi! The Album compilation, the LP that introduced many of us American kids to oi music. You can hear Peel talking about this album between songs. Moped Lads was on the band's first e.p. in 1982 and later turned up along with Elvis Is Dead and Maniac on Peter & the Test Tube Babies debut album Pissed And Proud (December 1982.) Beat Up the Mods is one of their earliest songs, recorded in 1979 during two days of heavy drinking in the studio. It appeared on the album The Loud Blaring Punk Rock LP but this album was only released in 1985 so no one heard these songs when they were first recorded six years earlier. One of the discoveries that really opened my eyes in 2015 was seeing for the first time a 43 minute live gig of theirs from 1983 in Manchester. It's on youtube and they put on a great punk show with tons of energy and excellent musicianship.

Beat up the mods" was not in the "Loud Blaring...." Lp. I possess the original version of this, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this LP was not recorded in 1979, as no one at the time played the fast D-Beat rythm on drums such as the Discharge. I don't know really if this lp was really recorded in 1979, since its songs had never appeared anywhere.

Wwwwoooohhh great stuff, I just saw this... One of my best Street Hc punk bands ever.. Peter and TTTb's and Discharge, were the first Hc Street punk bands to play hardcore punk in 1980. Their sound both, it was so raw stiff and hard... For those commenting
the early "elvis is dead" song, just think that they took the sample from Eddie Cochran's first late 50s Rock/pop songs "3 steps to heaven" and turned it into a great funny pop punk irony for Elvis... Also, I think their second LP was among the best Punk/Post punk records ever in Rock history... Really great LP and talent from that band....

Correction please. The compilation Vaultage 78 (March 12, 1979) contained their song Elvis Is Dead, so if you owned this LP you would have already heard the band. My bad.
