This interview never would have aired in the United States in 1963 that's for sure.

The Honourable Elijah Muhammad was a self serving cult leader.

This was 1963, when Malcolm was still with the Nation. But he is correct as to why people joined them up to that point. The fuel for their bitterness was real. I would add that even MLK came to see that the Old Nation of Islam served as a bargaining chip in which folks like Dr. King could say to the segregationists, "Would you rather deal with us or them?"

Wasn't he half African American half Latino biologically and (at least mostly) African American by experience? He most definitely knew who he was.

Sammy was tap dancing for them in this interview! But those who embrace interracial coupling had to tow the line and cast aspersions!

Interracial coupling as you call it, is simply two people seeing each other as people not a colour. A triumph of love over bigotry. Sammy bravely led the way in America. In the rest of the world we are not so hung up on race or colour. Yes there are bigots but it's way less toxic than in America. We have a lot of interracial marriage here in Oz and they are left in peace. It's nobody else business who two people fall in love with.
