    First, let me say that Kevin is just flat-out the coolest dude in Mexico.
    Second, I'm glad they made this video, because sometimes we get the impression that moving abroad is one big vacation, everyday, all day. In reality, it's just...living. Life is "boring", but in a good way. I think if we had this notion that going to Mexico, for example, would solve all our problems and we would be eternally happy and then when we get there, we realize nothing has changed but the location, we might try to poo poo on Mexico and not realize WE are the issue. So I'm glad they showed regular people living regular life. That to me is more realistic and gives a better sense of what I would also be doing if I move there.

      Wherever you go there you are. Moving to Mexico just gets down to your desire for a healthier, happier and much more affordable quality of life while doing the same things wherever you go..... It's a sunny 75 and I just got home from a quick surf and a jog on the beach. The waves were small but the water was refreshing. The best part is that while I was out walking around my neighborhood, I ate lunch and picked up some freshly harvested organic no GMO produce along with some fresh baked tortillas and every one I encountered or just passed by smiled at me and said "Buenas dias!" Avocados cost around $0.40us and the mangos for breakfast were around $0.35us each. The morning caught fish tacos con todo for lunch were $27mx or around $1.40us each and a liter of just squeezed fruit juice was around $2.00us... I am now outside in my hammock on my palm frond covered patio that overlooks the ocean that also has a view of the beautiful city lights at night. As I slowly start to doze off for a short siesta with my already sleeping cat curled up in my lap, I can barely hear the muffled sounds of mariachi music coming from the harbor malecon off in the distance. How nice to do practically nothing all day and afterwards to rest. Buenas suerte!

      @@salvador9288 Hola Savador! Fruit, veggies and basically all food is much more affordable in Mexico. For example avocados run about $0.40us and delicious street tacos will set you back for a few dollars. I'm a regular at place that's a short walk from me and specializes in al pastor (Marinated pork on a vertical fired spit) and bife (steak) . The al pastor tacos con todo cost $14 pesos or around $0.70us each! Mmmmm! Buenas suerte!

    Sorry to hear about your illness. I would suggest looking into “grounding” also known as “earthing”. It’s supposed to drastically reduce inflammation. All you have to do is be barefoot on grass/dirt/sand outside. Some people are skeptical about it, but it’s worth a try especially for someone in your situation. You can even get a grounding mat that you can sleep on to do it while you sleep. Just make sure to do your research first. Hope that helps :)

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  12 дней назад +2

      Yess I’ve started to incorporate grounding little by little. The bracelet made of stones, sitting at my favorite tree, walking barefoot on the grass, on the sand, swimming, etc. Getting a grounding mat sounds like a good next step. Thanks for your comment 😊

    I knew two women with fibromyalgia. One was in an auto accident somewhere around age 30 and the symptoms started within hours of the accident and remained with her until she died at 64. The other already had it by age 26. I don't know of a specific event but she already had Crohn's disease and had suffered several incidents of domestic violence.

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  13 дней назад

      Yess fibromyalgia is usually triggered by trauma, physical or psychological. I was diagnosed with PTSD the same year I started with fibro symptoms, unsurprisingly. And 90-95% of fibromyalgia cases are in women.

    ¡Buenas tardes desde Michoacán! Love your video. It inspired me to pay attention to my own health and dig in to the greens we’ve been growing-in mixto de lechugas, chard, espinacas and what everyone here calls quelites. It also made me wonder-at some point would you be able to grow some of your own greens? Or maybe you already do? Given you love your plant babies plus eat spinach and quelites. I started growing greens and it’s pretty easy where we live and I suspect much of Mexico. Anyways, just a thought. Keep up your guys’ great content and healing journey!

    10:57 OK, I thought it was just me! I was in QRO and went to a place that had a sign out front for Quesadillas. It was my first (and so far, only trip) to Mexico, and I was like, "I know what THAT is! I'll go eat there!" I placed the order using the little Spanish I know and when I said something about Cheese (Queso), the lady replied that they don't have cheese. I was like, But, isn't "Queso" in the name of the food itself? I was confused. But the food that they gave me was absolutely delicious, so no complaints!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  2 дня назад +1

      This happened in Queretaro?? I’m shocked because this is known to be a Mexico City thing! For some reason the word “quesadilla” translates to a long folded tortilla with some sort of food in it. Not automatically cheese 😆 some sources say it has to do with a native language influence, while other sources have debunked that theory. It’s really not clear why that happened lol

    • @beachlife8367
      @beachlife8367 2 дня назад

      @EatBailaTravel 😆 I thought it was saying Cheese-adilla! 😆 But ANYWAY... Yes, it was at a little hole in the wall place across from one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. There were two ladies inside working this grill looking thing and even though I didn't get my "cheese-adilla", the food I ended up with was SO good! I tried to go back early that following Sunday but it was closed.

    Fibromyalgia can be from mold exposure that happened long ago from living in a water damaged building, mold is usually hidden behind walls, can be non-obvious to smell/detect, and can also affect some people more. There is a mycotoxin antibody test that can be done with mymycolab to make sure this is not the root cause of your health issues. Best wishes.

    • @oceanwave4142
      @oceanwave4142 14 дней назад +2

      I myself been deeply affected from mold. Most doctors are not trained for it. What helps me most is Heiltropfen micronized zeolite powder every morning. For depression real saffron tea works, they say better than SSRI. I think these would help as they have many benefits.

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  4 дня назад

      That sounds like it could be worth looking into, but ouch, $380 USD? is that the most recommended test?

    • @oceanwave4142
      @oceanwave4142 4 дня назад

      @@EatBailaTravel As far as I know yes but I'd take the kind of zeolite mentioned above asap and see if it does something even before any test. Break the mold by Jill Crista (she also has a youtube) gives the specifics of the natural approach to heal this, that + the zeolite is what I'm doing and it helps. Among other things she says take flax seed powder twice a day with meals (natural binder). The allopathic approach (sporanox) gave me side effects and I stopped. For details on this mymycolab has Dr. Campbell speaking on youtube. Anyways zeolite purifies you from more than just mold.

    I struggled for yearssssss with a chronic illness and after doctors had no answers other than d medications I have spent the last 8 + yrs figuring out healing my body and one thing I found is food plays the biggest role in that! Eliminating gluten, dairy, and sugar the big 3 culprits of inflammation was the biggest needle mover and with fibromyalgia I promise if you eliminate inflammatory foods you will feel like a new person!! Second biggest needle mover is sleep, studies are endless on how your body repairs itself when you sleep being that close to a major hwy and not sleeping well is going to play a huge role in how your body feels for better or worse, I would invest in a migraine sleep mask that covers your eyes and ears and a good speaker to play white noise so you can recover your sleep quality too ❤❤❤ hope this cliff notes version of what took me 8 years to learn, implement, and fully heal my body and be free of medications can help you too 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    • @brendexxruiz
      @brendexxruiz 11 дней назад +2

      Yes! I can attest to this. Your gut health is a huge contributing factor. Eliminate sugar (also processed food/carbs), gluten, dairy. Add probiotics, such as fermented cabbage, or other fermented foods. You’ll notice the difference within a month! Happy Tuesday!

      @EatBailaTravel  11 дней назад +1

      I'm so glad you brought this up! I've had fibromyalgia symptoms for the last 6 years, so long before moving to Mexico or Mexico City. My symptoms do tend to worsen in extreme climates (e.g. winters in Chicago, spring/summer in Merida, Yucatan). The year we've lived in Mexico City has been one of the most challenging since my symptoms began. CDMX has a more temperate climate but winters do get colder. My doctor agrees that the high altitude and high pollution of the city can contribute to the worsening of my symptoms. The few days I spent in the Dominican Republic (to and from CDMX), I noticed how much the tension in my muscles went down. The fatigue was still challenging, but I ached less and breathed easier. Definitely a sign that I need to live at sea-level by the ocean.

    My love! I’m so sorry to hear about your chronic illnesses (this video literally popped into my feed randomly). I’m sure you’re so sick of people giving you health advice 😅 But fibromyalgia and chronic pain in the body is simply emotional imbalance or trauma that has manifested itself physically. I work with an amazing nervous system coach and we re-patterned my emotional body to heal 90% of these issues in my body (diet and nutrition doesn’t make much of a difference if you don’t target the emotional body first). The other 10% was regular deep tissue massage/bodywork to bring blood flow to all the tissues. If you would like the contact to my nervous system coach I would be happy to share. Besos!

      Hola amigo, im sorry to hear you face a similar struggle. And from such a young age. I often feel like my youthful years of energy are being stolen from me, but I’m working on feeling less angry and more compassionate with myself. I think chronic fatigue syndrome is starting to see a turning point in the medical world, now being called by its scientific name myalgic encephalomyelitis. You should see a rheumatologist if you haven’t already. They are more specially trained for these types of things. Please advocate for yourself 🙏🏽 ✨

    I suffered a lot with hypothyroid and muscle pain/fibro, also celiac and a few other issues. The fatigue and pain is real! But what most don’t realize is how high oxalate plants and carbs can be the root cause for many of us. You may wanna try a 30 day strict ketogenic diet and or carnivore type eating plan just to see if it helps with your symptoms. It’s helping me incredibly and worth a trial- of course we are all different but just google keto and fibro or carnivore fibromyalgia and you can see how many others are finding relief. Wish you all the best!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  10 дней назад +1

      You’re not first to recommend the carnivore diet, and the more people mention it the more intrigued I am. I just started looking into it. I’ve tried keto and saw results but it was tough to keep up after a couple of months. Keto works when we do it together but Kevin’s body did not respond well to keto and doing it by myself would be extra hard. Have you tried the carnivore diet?

    • @Lizz7711
      @Lizz7711 10 дней назад

      @@EatBailaTravel Yes I’ve been doing it for last 7 weeks- kind of ketovore since I still have around 10-15 g carbs but not from veggies or fruit, just things like eggs, coffee, and sometimes some keto chocolate. Keto is a good transition to carnivore but honestly, carnivore is way easier and I feel SO much better without any veg or fruit. I was undereating especially protein and fat. Now I’m eating lots of red meat and eggs, and my body feels satiated with no cravings at all. Stopping all allergens or issues with plant toxins gives the body time to rest, and then if you add something back it will be more clear if it’s okay for you or not. I still eat dairy but will phase that out soon I think. Some good RUclipsrs are Dr Ken Berry, Homesteadhow, and dr Chaffee. Also “no carb life” for interviews. I think it’s the easiest way to eat! And does the fastest healing.

      My rheumatologist also told me to try to limit coffee hehe. I like to have a morning cup of coffee, it's more of a comforting ritual than a source of energy. And actually, I haven't really mentioned this but I took an epigenetic hair strand test that told me what foods I have sensitivities to. Black tea was one I was advised to avoid. I do really like a nice chai but they're usually black tea based!

    I suffer from chronic fatigue and fibro and have for many decades. The only reliable way I found to get and stay on top of it (put it into remission) was via dietary changes (which it looks like you are doing) and Intermittent Fasting. I know it seems counterintuitive but the IF really keeps my energy levels much higher,, inflammation down and brain fog clear.
    I slowly worked down from an 8 hour eating window to about a 4 hour eating window which is one snack and one meal a day. I played around with a smaller eating window but this is what seems to work best for me.
    If you look up intermittent fasting and cellular autophagy you will find what I think is the key mechanism that makes it effective for many.
    BTW, the onset of my CF and Fibro coincided with a vaccine I received in college in the late 90s....so knowing I may have mitochondrial challenges I do not take any vaccines now.

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  4 дня назад

      First, I'm sorry you also struggle with these things. Second, I'm glad you brought these up! I've experimented with fasting and my body responds positively. I intermittent fast most days but the dietary changes have been the more challenging to maintain for me. I go through periods where my diet is excellent and then I'll fall off. I like to think I eat just a bit healthier than average, but haven't reached a level my body requires to truly heal. So I'm working on that. I appreciate you sharing! Reminds me to keep working towards progress to know that there are others out there who see results.

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  11 дней назад

      We have BBVA and have no major complaints. It was recommended to us by family in Mexico because they have some of the most advanced technology and apps for navigating your account. Our only complaint is that they tried to require us to have a life insurance policy with them that would be automatically deducted from our account and we gave in just to create the account because they said we'd be able to cancel in a few months. We went back in to cancel and they said it was cancelled but they continued to charge us. If they try to require the same from you, just go to a different location. We've told other BBVA locations about this and they said that should not have happened. I've heard worse stories from people at Santander, HSBC, etc.

    Kevin and Jenny, I have not seen your channel for a while not because I stopped liking it but because I have been overwhelmed with things life has brought me. One thing that came to me is a diagnosis of CIDP. I have been learning to live with it, keep a positive attitude, and focus on what I can still do. I retired last December and could finally afford to have my vintage motorcycle undergo a complete mechanical restoration which turned out great. Unfortunately, I had to face the truth that I have no business getting on a motorcycle and won't be going on those weekend rides. I walk with a cane and need a mid-day rest in order to get through the rest of the day. Sometimes, I am about to fall out of my chair at dinner but I don't let anyone see that. I commend you for educating others about Fibromyalgia and showing that one must adapt and follow sound medical advice. Just remember that as long as you can give and receive love, you still have the greatest thing of all. I have cut way back on alcohol but must admit I am sipping some Pinot Noir right now. Last thing: I have heard good things about Merida and my Salvadoran wife and I are planning a trip there so I am going to look for a Merida video by you guys. I find you inspiring in your adventurous lives. Vaya con Dios!

    Autoimmune disorders will be made worse by Covid (which is still with us) infections and the damage is cumulative with each subsequent infection.
    Sadly, Mexico hasn’t kept up with updated vaccines (Novavax is best) but they don’t prevent infections at a high rate. Masking is great because it protects against C 1 9 and against the harm that air pollution causes as well. Hope you have more good days than bad.

      So you see just how much she went thru and you still had the lack of respect to make that rude comment....how dare you!!
