I thought the last episode was explosive but this one truly tops it. The level of scheming by the princess with Shen is epic. I thought the empress dowager was evil but the princess is on a whole other level. Also awhile back I thought the black cape person who saw the Prince of Northern Liang was either the empress dowager or a servant of hers or the princess. Then it completely slipped my mind as the intriguing storyline progressed. The writers & actors did a great job on this. I'm anticipating a lot more carnage.
The two young girl and boy are good looking and good actors. Shes pretty and he's very cute. They played their roles well as Princess Rouja and Shen, the scholar.

I wondered a bit about how she kept the picture of her former betrothed as though she worshipped it as I thought it was just a tad weird but kept telling myself she was deep in grieving etc.. Sometimes I felt she did not really love the guy (not sure why). I wondered what history they had for her to be so very attached. That grandmother of hers was evil to the bone but the princess is right along side of her in wickedness. She helped her grandmothers plot to have Lord Ding killed etc... For some reason it never occurred to me that she wanted to be the one in power since the emperor had 3 sons plus his brother Lord Ding. I cannot fathom wiping them all out and she takes over the throne. Her ambitions are way up there and killing off her family means nothing just as it meant nothing to Empress dowager. She learned how to be heartless from a master.
