@@reddieweebAnd I'm sure the EN branch in time will fall, much like the other branches of Nijisanji that have gone to the wayside and been shut down (though I believe those were because those branches didn't see enough success for Niji to continue with those), especially if things go on like this.
Next time the EN side opens auditions (if they do), I think they'll have trouble getting applications due to Nijisanji/Anycolor continuosly tarnishing their reputation.
They will probably still have support on JP side though. Apparently JP fans are literally celebrated termination of Selen. JP fans seem to love it when other branch memebers are graduated or terminated for some reason.
@@inquisitorsteele8397to be fair Nijisanji released a statement on the Japanese side that was totally different than the English one, and they basically said Selen was breaking all kinds of contract rules and she was harassing other vtubers and management. So they got a poor light of the situation.

For anyone who doesn't know what happened:
Dokibird (aka Selen Tatsuki) was fired from Nijisanji early February, but was locked out of her Nijisanji account on December 26th after posting a cover of Last Cup of Coffee. She had gotten all required permissions, but shortly after uploading the song, suddenly it was taken down. Dokibird attempted to get it back up, but was stealth suspended (no suspension notice) after trying to get it back up.
When she was silent for months, her friends attempted to reach out to Nijisanji, who stayed silent. Until they announced she was fired for "contract breaches". They accused her of many things, the most noteworthy being: 1) making Nijisanji get a bad reputation for trying to make tournaments and such 2) falsely claiming abuse from within the company by other talents in the English branch 3) constant contract breaches with her tournaments 4) paying artists and such from her own pocket.
On the first point, they claimed she ruined their reputation for people being mad at them not allowing her to make her own game tournaments. The fourth point is combined with this for when they refused to pay anybody, including artists, for any contractual obligations, and then punished Dokibird time and time again for paying them out of her own pocket.
They refused to acknowledge that she was being bullied, to the point of attempting to commit due to it, and used her Last Cup of Coffee as a "breach" to fire her wrongly.
This wrongful firing is ILLEGAL in Japan, where Nijisanji is located.
This situation made many big collaborators drop from Nijisanji, including many of their investing partners, such as a computer case company, who refunded people and took the entire section from their store.
Artists also are starting to refuse to work with Nijisanji due to the way they treated Dokibird, who always loved the artists, and due to them failing to do what their own work contracts dictated.
Also, she made no profit at all. The company made her spend all of her money on projects because they refused to pay anyone. She had to pay 200k for what Nijisanji refused to pay

I mean there's probably a bunch of bogus ass companies in this field of entertainment but the main ones like Vshojo, Hololive, PhaseCon., Etc seem to be on they properl manual grind. I remember the Nux shyt but it's vague and I try not to run into it
She actually said she tried to end of life twice. The second time was around Xmas when they locked her our of her accounts. Also they did this to at least two other talents previously with on making a huge statement on how the company treats their talent but Niji was able to turn public opinion to their side. They fumbled when they fucked over dokibird and got caught.
For context this is one of the brightest, hardworking and nicest vtuber i know with a laugh so infectious at it will light up your heart with happiness. A top tier human being with the how she interacted with artist and people she worked with. anybody in this space will tell you that selen was a nice person and a joy to be around.
she really didnt deserve it any of this and the fact that the company and whatever they did seemed to make things worse even after everything shes been through even bringing her to the brink of an attempt breaks my fucking heart. my tears well up just thinking about it. i loved nijisanji in the past but this really broke me and i lost all trust in and respect for them.

I highly suggest anyone who sees this to look more into it. He doesn't do justice just how EVIL this company is. She is not the first vtuber to try on her own life because of them.

I saw a random livestream pop up saying THE RETURN from this channel and I went "huh alright" and saw the graduation stream was three years ago, so I went "Damn ok I'll check who it is".

Dang... It's been a month since the start of the situation. And it escalated so fast this past few days. As a person who used to avidly support Nijisanji. I hate how the management have caused so much horrible stuff to their talents. And now like 9/30 talents have graduated (including Doki). I hope every talent in Nijisanji is taken and given a new management/company since now we have this on top of of their talents having only 0.2% of the income they get, not allowed to get their own play buttons, can't even do specific things, and so much more. Poor management is poor management. Often, they themselves won't even comprehend that they're doing poorly, and likely will have no idea that management requires a set of skills all it's own.
You should make a follow up talking about the amazing support Dokibird has gotten. It is really beautiful to see.

The only thing that needs to be said is this: Complete and utter lacks of humanity deserve to go unpunished.
I understand business need money. I understand that you need to cut losses and not everyone’s entitled to a job. However, you don’t terminate a person in this situation. Have some humanity and do it after they’re better (it still is bad to do this) or after some time has passed if they’re really an anchor on your profit. Otherwise you’re just destroying your image.
Quite frankly, I don't believe this was because of a need for money. Everything I've heard about Nijisanji in the last few months tells me that their managers are simply unfit for their jobs, including demonstrating an inability to properly track vital information.

I was following nijisanji back then especially nijisanji id while it's still fresh, but then i hated it so much because they merging it with kr, it might not seems like a big deal for you guys but it hurt so much for me to see people that supposedly relatable to my people more focusing to foreign viewer and not caring about us anymore. Maybe it's because you are from the outside of the community, that all you've got are Drama or Bad News about VTuber, and yeah, I can understand that.

I've seen more good news in my YT algo or social media feed and most of the bad ones aren't from Vtuber related. Besides the internet today loves giving bad news to gain more traffic because instinctively people pays more attention to bad news so that they can avoid it happening to them.
Stuff like this is why I think more companies should be workers' co-ops. I doubt Niji's management could get away with being this bad if they were actually accountable to the talents and workers (beyond "the talents/workers can leave if they want").
Never underestimate the consequences of bad management. Things like co-ops have had plenty of it as well, which is why you need to be _ready_ to change jobs when conditions get untennable.

That’s why I’ve never watched the vtuber stuff. It’s all run by big companies. If it’s a solo person running their own RUclips it’s fine. But once greed gets into it I won’t support it.

Corpo vtubers aren't all bad, you just gotta look for the right ones. Unfortunately majority truthfully aren't the best but there's a few pretty good ones that treat their talents very well!
Cover Corp. is literally the best thing to happen to a lot of vtubers. It's the best vtuber company on earth and by a wide margin.

It's sad nijisanji has become like this I guess some agencies should never be too big as too much power can result in the company not caring about its workers. I would hope that more companies become similar to hololive and still care about their talent but unfortunately they are the exception not the rule. I'm already subbed to doki so I'll be watching as my favorite gremlin regains her fans and is free to say what she wants to.

We almost lost her because of how the management treats her and they're just treating it as if shes nothing. Riku's mistake was not checking up on them personally or having a hidden staff to report to him of any findings. It became even worse after the "negligible" announcement.
New rumours starts to rise up after Elira streamed about their response of the situation together with Ike and Vox as some fans are beginning to speculate that Elira might be the one managing NijiEN and probably played a big part in many of the terminations and graduations in NijiEN.

Usually, companies dont care for their workers and just want money. Also, in the vtubing szene its not so welcomed to see that the people are being named by their old name or anything. Like calling Demondice Calli and vice versa.

Man, before then I really enjoyed Selen and the other Nijisanji Vtubers but the slow reveals of them getting only getting 1-3% of money from merch, old members of Nijisanji after graduating stated they weren’t used to having managers actually manage and more, says a lot about what this company turned out to be in the end and now all I feel is worry for the remaining Vtubers in Niji
(Also the fact they didn’t tell her she was getting terminated is stupid as fuck. How do you not tell someone they’re being fired especially right after a suicide attempt. + Selen has stated she wanted to leave on neutral terms for a long time but they decided to fire her AFTER an attempt without telling her)
