One of my absolute favorites....he was phenomenal. I remember how incredibly happy i was when he moved to FC Bayern München.... unfortunately his injuries never really healed up and he never returned to the old Papin. Plus, him and Jürgen Klinsmann we're to similar in terms of needing room upfront. Wonder how they would have played together in top form.... On paper.... Jürgen Klinsmann, Jean-Pierre Papin and Emil Kostadinov sounded great....but on the field only Klinsmann delivered. Same with the center attacking nidfielders Bayern München had....Mehmet Scholl, Ciriaco Sforza and Andreas Herzog... Scholl was and remains a Bayern München legend....Sforza previously had a fantastic year in Kaiserslautern as playmaker that played incredible long distance passes and worked defensively....Andreas Herzog was phenomenal at Bremem as 10....a goal scorer that reminded me of Andreas Möller....plus he came up under the new Bayern München coach Otto Rehhagel.... What happened? Only Scholl delivered after much personal issues and arguments with Rehhagel. Sforza was mediocre....Herzog a complete disaster. In the end it was the Bayern München bench players like Marcel Witezcek, Christian Nerlinger, Alexander Zickler, Christian Ziege etc and Lothar Matthäus/Thomas Helmet that saved the year with an Uefa Cup trophy against Zidane & Lizarazu's Girondins Bordeaux....after defeating FC Barcelona 😂....in the Bundesliga we barely made it on spot 6....😂
Why do they always talk about Marsellie winning the champions league in 93 like it wasn't stripped from them for paying off refs ? Puzzles me to this day...
JPP was very criminally underrated and overlooked when it comes to being one of the best strikers of his era. 1991 Ballon d’Or winner Club Brugge Belgian Cup: 1985-86 Belgian Pro League: runner-up 1985-86 Marseille Ligue 1: 1988-89, 1989-90, 1990-91, 1991-92 Coupe de France: 1988-89 European Cup: runner-up 1990-91 Coupe de France: runner-up 1986-87, 1990-91 AC Milan Serie A: 1992-93, 1993-94 Supercoppa Italiana: 1992, 1993 UEFA Champions League: 1993-94; runner-up: 1992-93 Intercontinental Cup: runner-up 1993 UEFA Super Cup: runner-up 1993 Bayern Munich UEFA Cup: 1995-96 DFL-Supercup: runner-up 1994 Bordeaux Coupe de la ligue: runner-up 1997, 1998 France Toulon Tournament: 1985 Kirin Cup: 1994 FIFA World Cup: third place 1986

A superb striker who probably doesn’t get spoken of on the world stage enough in my option. Simply a joy to watch
Growing up jpp was my favourite player, his goals were off the scale, he is one of the reasons I love football ...class.
Little messi could never score spectacular bicycle kicks like the great Papin.
The French were masters of football back in the 80s and 90s.
@@bogeythedog163 the Dutch aswell 🤘
No way papin could compete against todays players like maguire and luke shaw.
I would like to see modern players with the ball and the green of those days.
I'm not convinced
Fellaini would stop him at MF.
Papin will always be the supreme goalscorer.
A wonderful football player.
One of my Favorites
Great player, always overlooked I think
Une légende du foot français, un modèle pour tous les gamins dans les années 80-90. Thanks for the vidéo.
Overshadowed by Cantona and Henry, but still a world class striker. Just as good as Klinsmann or Baggio at the time.
No one was on the same level as Baggio. The divine ponytail was the best ever

Because it was the first ever champions league it’s difficult to erase
No they were never stripped of the cl title only from defending it. They were stripped of the ligue 1 title of 1993
@@rosefarrell2440 thank you, I genuinely never knew this 👍
Scored more difficult and spectacular goals than any other person. He was better than little lio and cris
