A year and 16 days ago, this was still standing, then the firebug showed up and that was that.

- Here`s a look back at the Midland, Ohio train station that was built in 1884 and was burned to the ground on New Year`s Eve 2023. I filmed many trains going past it, and I figured it was just a matter of time before it either fell down, the railroad tore it down, or somebody torched it because there had been 3 houses in this little "hole in the wall" town that have been burned down in the last couple of years.
This station sat between the junction of 2 Baltimore and Ohio lines. One went to Parkersburg, West Virginia and is now dead ended in Greenfield, Ohio and the other line went to Springfield and Columbus, Ohio and is the current day Indiana and Ohio Midland Sub that sees at the most, 2 to sometimes 4 trains a day. When I was a kid, 25 to 39 trains a day used these 2 lines, including the AMTRAK Shenandoah.
I hope you enjoy this look back at a historic old station that deserved a better fate than what it got.
Thanks for watching!
