I just remembered that when J. Cole originally teased The Fall Off back in 2020, the marketing heavily featured a presidential campaign kinda vibe, and this year is an election year, so I think it’s safe to say hes gonna drop👀

Didn’t think it would be Logic but back when I was hella into Logic I was so hyped for Ultra 85. I still wanna hear that project now and there’s no way he’s been working on it this long and wouldn’t make it good. I’m sure the production is at least going to be incredible

Honestly I’m super excited for Montana to drop (final Freddie x Madlib album in trilogy with Piñata and Bandana). I think Freddie’s rapping has been only getting better and if we get Madlib production at the levels of Madvillainy and Piñata we’re gonna have one of the best albums of the decade
$$$ is very underrated I enjoyed Freddies flow so much the way he switches his flow is so unique and satisfying, I think he is technically the best rapper right now
I’m yet to listen to $$$ I’m planning on it very soon but he is easily top 10 of all time and one of the best right now

@@axlprz11 I would give entergalactic a 7/10 sober and an 8/10 high, the tracks are very solid and they have some great features. I only smoke, so I've listened to it on weed and it's great, not as good as the motm stuff, but pretty close.

I dont find myself remaining interested in mainstream hip-hop/R&B release schedules. It's the same few artists in the headlines for releases (Kanye, J. Cole, Metro Boomin, Future, Frank Ocean, A$AP Rocky, etc) and mostly similar results from these records (at best, decent records with hit tracks on them, to mediocre or bad/boring albums that are not at all memorable.) I just wish that when it came to media coverage, other artists and other projects would have a bit more presence. I wish this style of journalism would delve deeper into the genre than it tends to. Which is why I tend to question when anyone says that hip-hop had a down year in any year when I tend to find 20-30 new projects that I love and enjoy to a high degree. I really do feel like there is plenty to experience in any subsect of any genre as long as you look for it, and media like this podcast can very easily bring albums of the sort to the surface to those who may not be willing to do the searching. Idk, it just kinda burns me out hearing the same 10-20 artists being mentioned over and over again.

My most anticipated album of 2024 is a new Ka album, Ka has been shown touring with The Alchemist and Roc Marciano, if a Metal Clergy album finally drops with Alchemist production i'll lose my mind, best lyricist of all time.
