Also make sure you have CHIRP closed. One user stated he had CHIRP open and it "grabbed" the USB port so that he couldn't flash to V2 until CHIRP was closed. I am about to take the plunge myself... wish me luck
USB-C is hit and miss sometimes. The K cable usually works better and it's faster. One trick some users found with troublesome radios is to connect it to the PC via a USB hub rather than a direct cable.

Version V2.01.06 has a small bug, so better get the next build. The * button (short press) cycles through the groups, but you don't have any yet.
