Interview STARTS AT 2:36
" Mike Patton on Joining Faith No More, finding inspiration from Tom Waits, and being yourself.
One of the greatest rock vocalists shares his philosophy behind honest experimentation. "
The full program is roughly an hour in length, but Patton is only on for about 30 minutes. I tried to trim it down to mostly just the actual interview part. You can listen to the rest of the full podcast at consequenceofs...

He's such a charismatic, intelligent, funny and very very talented guy!
What a living legend MP is, he's still that 19 year old at heart doing what he loves and time never passes him by! Pattons music is my Dorian Gray portrait!
The host had no idea what to do with him:)The most honest man on earth. I love how, after all this years Patton stayed truthful to himself and kept being that shuffle guy, ready to accept, learn and experiment like a child. Hats down for his coolness and wisdom.
Mike Patton is my all time favorite voice to listen to during my creativity necessary times.
mike? the best no one sings so sweet and melodic and so crazy experimental , big up from mexico city
Mike's been called 'One of the Greatest Vocalists of all time' because that's his name.
Merci beaucoup for interview. It’s refreshing to hear his humility et self reflection. I also love his regard for serge Gainsbourg
Probably the only living musical genius we have today.
I love Patton, but are you fuckin serious??
You're a fuckin idiot
Not at all a genius. But there ar alot of musical geniuses around the world, but Mike Patton is not one of them.
Thank you for doing the interview, not enough people talk about Mike Patton
I remember Mike Patton ( Peeping Tom ) playing at the Orange County Fair ( with Gnarls Barkley!! ). Best $20 I ever spent!
Me too. Great show.
jeez, just $20? i guess that's not much less then I paid to see Tomahawk but for these bands that is a steal
great, many facts i never knew, after all these years still one of the most facinating persons, always research more of him!
Funny to watch an old Patton interview and come to this. As a kid I thought he was so cool but now I just feel kinda bad for the interviewers back then. His talent has always shone but now he's got the personality to back it up and I like him more for it.
He was a asshole haha now he is way nice
I had the same thought!!! Glad I am not alone...I'm not adding anything, you've said it all!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Like he said: he behaved like someone he was not (an asshole) and now he is just being himself. Soooo glad he is himself, and remains true to himself. Really like this interview ❤. And also LOVE Corpse Flower.
He also narrated Bunraku. A pretty fun and different kind of movie. Really enjoyed it.
2:35 to skip the appalling (appalling) host banter. Unfortunately, there's no timecode to delete them from the interview itself.
lol
Ouch, that is a very rough opinion. Thanks, for the honesty however. I did come here for Mike...not them. So, yeah...
Me: Nothing can make Mike Patton sound bad.
This interviewer: Hold my headphones.
Yeah, she should NOT be doing THIS for a living. Also, when your interviewee is speaking SHUT THE FUCK UP and be silent!!!
@@SuperDuce74 lol. yeah that Aussie accent is _rough_
Mike should do an interview with Lars on Its Electric. Would be great. Lars is a great interviewer. These two would click
My all time fav frontman. Beast!!
And a funny observation....I found maybe far, but still an analog of Patton's shuffled way of jumping into genres. That's Tarantino but in making films:) As Mike, he's self-taught and had that hunger, digesting everything in the video store he was working in...By today he remembers every phrase in the movies he saw and he continues to watch everything...:)
Probably my favorite Mike Patton interview... other than the sandwich interview perhaps. Thanks for posting! Cheers!
Faith No More opening for male strippers is the greatest event in human history.
90s-early 2000s Patton would have had a field day with this interviewer
He seemed pretty chill in the 2000's. What are you referring to?
@@NobodyCaresALot To me, the early 2000s seemed like the peak of his ego. He was always trashing other bands around that time. Maybe he didn't toy with interviewers as much as in the 90s though.
@@NobodyCaresALot 2000sPatton was a sarcastic prick.
@@audaciousbrowne3041 you mean that interview whit fantomas ? Lol he was full of himself around that time that why fnm end in that time , now he is very nice
Mr. Bungle at a High School Talent Show 😂 I wonder what lyrics they unleashed onto the audience. Wish I could have been there!
ruclips.net/video/e12iKth6Vkw/видео.html Watch it! It's an amazing and weird recording
Great interview/ great artist👍🏼
Mike's graceful with this goofy interviewer 🤦♂️
I wish he hadn't backed out of the Chris Cornell tribute, I would loved to hear him sing Soundgarden... even though he's Mike Patton, Chris Cornell is hard to match.
This was around the same time he had to drop from singing the National Anthem at an NFL game because he was ill.
You will NEVER give a bad show.
Now that is a Saffer twang.
This woman is a great interviewer and seems she knows her shit. 💖
If Mr. Bungle came to Cape Town, my life would be complete.
There is Mike Patton and there is everyone else....
That's ALL there is. Yes, I know about Freddie Mercury. Freddie didn't have 213 bands.
@@horselovercock6835 then again, your opinion in is ahit.
this interview is pretty much word for word exactly same questions and answers as another interview he did..
a lovely nice interview 🙂
I wanna see a docudrama with Mike Patton as Malcom X. Patton Luther King Jr....how bow dah.
That sounds fucking horrible
Wasn’t he the voice of Jackie estacado?
Yes, he loves games
He's actually the voice of The Darkness not Jackie but your close! Same game different character
dude, did he just say Panama at 31:00 ? DID HE????!!!
Yes, he fucking did it.
Unbelievible, Mike Patton at Panama hahaahahh
This is awesome.
"Where did you grow up" Are you kidding me
Great to hear an honest interview from Mike but god the interviewer was not good at all
Yes it was painful.
nice ending :)
How about Alaska
Everything Mike says is very interesting. (In fact you are very interesting) The interviewer is so bad at this though and her laughs are so irritating
Nice Bungle reference you worked in there!
Eddie Money!!!
31:31 what's the guy's name?
Spoek Mathambo
Pero no entiendo mucho😰
Is he rocking a Snoop Dogg twist pony tail In that picture? Can you imagine Patton and Dogg colab? Pattonio burritos...I bet Patton is a Master chef...fxk..I bet his food is so dope...
who it Haely Bee???
Who are the singers he said he was blown away with after Leonard cohen?
I've been trying to hear what he says and I just can't figure it out.
Does anyone know?
Tom Waits & Serge Gainsbourg
I can see him singing Leonard's "I'm Your Man". I'm a huge fan of LC!
Mike also mentions in a different interview about being heavily influenced by Demetrio Stratus from a band called Area. Absolutely amazing singer and band.. You’ll hear the seeds of Mike Patton and Mr. Bungle for sure.
when will we see t least one interview with Make Patton with rassian trnslation .??????
Mike sings all the Russian classics!?! We've gotta make this happen!!!!
yes with Mike it's easy! let uh something sharp out so far which we love is , This is V. Tsoi, for example, Mitalica did this and sang the song of “blood type” V. Tsoi, I look forward to it, the shirt is simple, and the fans will be shocked)))
@@Roman-gi1gi Saw Metallica in Slane Castle (Ireland) in June, they fuckin rocked man, totally blew my mind. The lights, the stage show (obviousy) the music. Incredible!!! But ya that would be awesome!!
still would!!This is mitallica !! Legend! Lucky you!
🤔wtf did you say?
Cringey. Great interview from Mike, draining shit to hear a star struck interviewer.
The giggling drove me crazy.
