  • In an unequivocal win for environmental activists, the EPA updated its emission standards to slash instances of air pollution by 80% annually. Louisiana activist Sharon Lavigne advocated for this outcome for nearly six years and is now celebrating the victory. In this segment, LPB’s Kara St. Cyr catches up with Lavigne as she talks about the new standards, as well as her new status as one of TIME Magazine’s Most Influential People of 2024.
