Kids on the Colorado River Desert Program!

The Kids on the Colorado River Program has expanded now adding on a desert program!
The 8th grade class from Thunderbolt Middle School in the Lake Havasu Unified School District had the opportunity to take part in learning all about the desert they live in.
The day is hosted by local educators and agencies that focus on;
History and Resources
Wildlife Species and Native Plants
Hiking and Recreation Safety
Search and Rescue Equipment
Learn Map Coordinates/ Geocaching
Ecology of the Lake & River
The students interact with professionals from each organization:
Arizona Game and Fish Department
Arizona State Parks & Trails
Arizona State University
Bureau of Land Management
Lake Havasu Fire Department
Lake Havasu Police Department
Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue
The Kids on the Colorado was created by Mike Peters and Dan Delasantos. There are many children in our area that don’t get this opportunity, that’s the driving force behind this non-profit organization.
