Hurricane Milton is presently about to hit the West Coast of Florida, I am in Palm Beach County. I have the news/weather on TV and decided to grab a handheld radio and program the local N.O.A.A. weather channel in, the local weather channel that is constantly broadcasting is TOTALLY SILENT there is NO broadcast during an emergency. Yet another example of the FAILURE of the Federal Government when assistance or information is needed. Just another reminder that YOU are responsible for your safety and the Government should NEVER be relied on for assistance when needed.
WARNING! DO NOT TURN UP OR DOWN VOLUME DURING A ALERT!!!!!! BECAUSE THE RADIO WILL STOP THE ALERT! The first alert I got on my weather radio was a weekly test on Christmas! But I turn up the volume and the radio stoped the test! It took 10 weeks to do another test!
Technically midland says u only need to change a battery once per year they say every 6 months but like a weather radio most devices will beep when battery is low indicating when its time to change.
