I know I'm way too late to comment on this, but in order to know how to be familiar with playing Ninja Gaiden 2, it's recommended to start with Ninja Gaiden/ Ninja Gaiden Black from the original XBox to understand it's mechanics, gameplay, storyline, etc first. Otherwise, it makes playing, understanding and even completing Ninja Gaiden 2 even harder than intended. I always believed that the sequel was created for players who either fully know how to play the game or for players who has at least some experience playing the game. Don't get me wrong, the second game provides hints, advice, clues and other stuff to help and guide the player throughout their journey, especially within the first 4 chapters. But I don't believe the in game tutoring in NG2 is enough to slowly teach and train those players who is completely brand new and who have never played the game before. I do believe NGB does a slightly better job doing just that, although that's just my opinion though lol
