Honestly this was an amazing game. There was nearly something going on at some points of the game, numerous close wars, no one really gave up, and had an actual conclusion. My favourite bit was when Duncan was like "That's a complete lie. Potato didn't give me 2000 gold, he gave me 3,000!"
A great game, usually there are only two or three contenders for the win but this time there was like 5 and the game actually ended rather than giving up when one person gets to far ahead
Lewis’ defense in the West and East around 4:30:00 is why he’s the greatest. Such a valiant effort.
Man it feels forever since a really good Civ V stream like this. I would love more of this!

Ben was bringing the fight and the Entertainment factor for me this game.
If auto unit cycle were off, he could have taken Festive Goat really early. Needed to place his first general, and actually attack the city with the melee units.
Just been on a yogscast binge for the first time in a long time snd man i miss the days of watching you guys play these live back in the days. Im glad to see sll the guys still going strong and having fun

It's funny how you can enjoy this game for the first couple of hours and be like, why don't we play this more this is so much fun, and 6-7 hours later they're just f***ing sick of eachother and the game 🤣
Ben is good at games but plays civ 5 once a year, he has to restrict himself otherwise he would roll them and they wouldn't invite him back.
Love the advice from Deltos, hes never won but hes always confident.
The stream was so long I watched it from the beginning, took about an hour long nap 6 hours in, woke up and it was still going. Turned off my pc to have a real night's sleep and the next day I find out the stream went on for about another hour.

I agree. If Diehard can be argued to be a Christmas movie simply from the calendar date, then a halloween-movie with Santa, elves and presents in it should count automatically.
I'd say Christmas because the movie revolves around the idea of the main character experiencing Christmas. Additionally, it's not a Halloween movie - it's just *near* Halloween

3 Musketeer's didn't have muskets because swords, rapiers specifically, were more suitable for what they were doing. They were trained in them [muskets], but found them impracticable outside of the literal battlefield.
Thisnwas such a great stream. Took me from sunday to a thursday night to finish it. Civ V is probably my favourite content the yogs put out and this stream was the most interesting yet. Ben is so entertaining as a player as he brought the conflict and I hope he is in more games in the future. Spiff and Potato are always great to have too as they bring a lot of conflict as well. Im hoping for a big game like this again sometime soon, fingers crossed

I do wish the perspective was better, Ben and Alex are having a war and its showing potato doing nothing.
I do find that the studio is often poor at showing the right POV's in yogs' streams in general.

Daltos never committed much to stopping any one player. It's good play to be honest, but if people are giving post-game props to you for sacrificing a lot to try to kill Duncan, he could at least admit it was all bluster without any troops. Also, considering that everyone including Lewis got completely stomped both times an actual competitive player joined (FilthyRobot and Lek), Daltos is still very far from tryharding his way to maximum efficiency.

What I’m learning is civ gets less fun when it gets competitive (well that is it’s a different game. I prefer more role play)
That's true for most multiplayer strategic games. Civ 5 does become a real slog when wars and such start though, so the start-to-mid-game is usually what I enjoy the most as well.
I dunno, I think this was the best game they've done. Actually being good and competitive makes the game less of a steamroll

To watch it’s great and honestly makes for an interesting experience but it’s also fun in games when people just say “I’m doing this and that’s that.” Like Luis and polders. I mean it would be less fun for me to play this way as I like building my cites like actual cities

This is almost un-watchable to be honest, it almost never shows what is interesting. instead showing some useless perspective where nothing is happening.
I'm only twenty minutes in. Daltos, over the last five years, has repeatedly scoffed at the idea of improving at Civ 5. Found it laughable the audience would even suggest the Yogs could/would get better. Now that he's been playing a ton, and getting better, he can't help but boast about how "good" Lekmod is and the strengths of various openers. Mildly infuriating.
