Great video thanks! A neighbour had one of these (same colour too) when I was about 10 and it was the first 'nice' car I got to sit in. I had seen Ferraris and Rolls in magazines but never been inside them. I was blown away by the beautiful cream leather, real wood and electric seats!
Did a similar journey covering the north of Scotland .over 20 years ago in my old XJ81 (XJ40 6 litre V12). At a best of 20mpg it cost a fortune in petrol but a great car to whisk away the miles. Car long gone but memories remain.
It"s a great trip to do 🙂. Hoping to include some footage of your amazing XJ40 in my NEC Classic Motor Show video 🙂. It was a pleasure meeting and chatting with you and the guys and admiring your great collection of XJ40s 👍.

Great video! Btw, what type of fog lights are you running? I removed the stock ones on my '90 since they looked like a goofy afterthought but yours look slick. ❤
That XJ40 is living its best life. Great work, beautiful scenery!

A great trip and so well documented! You couldn't have done it in a more splendid cat too!
I have really enjoyed this video. Wish i could drive my XJ40 up there in the north of Scotland, that would make it happy.
I would recommend it for sure :)
Amazing views! Thx so much for taking us viewers with you on this beautiful trip
Thank you. I hope it inspires others to take a trip around the Highlands 🙂
I live in the highlands and drove a Daimler XJ40 for years. Perfect car for sweeping roads, no plod to worry about or speed cameras to spoil the fun.
Daimler XJ40 - bet that was stunning 👍

Thanks - they are integrated into the bumper much like the later x300 cars. I have to admit, I have not noticed if this is the same on earlier cars.
@@toooldclassics Ah, I see. Must have been similar to the facelift xjs. Regardless they look great. The earlier ones most certainly do not.
