Made a slight error at 6:27 - accidentally added the price of 2 Snubhorn Sentries instead of 1. Fortunately it's a $0.12 card so not a major issue with the overall price. Apologies!
Very nice! I bought a copy of this deck as I've not experienced much in white, been really enjoying it and it's great to see some affordable upgrade paths! Thanks!
Once again another fantastic video! I just picked up this deck Friday night and absolutely love it, but I can't wait to try your upgrades on it👍Keep up the great content 😊
I would 100% run baffling end main board- when your playing aggro nobody expects you to have removal and so they don’t play around it. 2 mana for solid removal is also just very efficient. Good vid, I definitely agree with Snubhorn Sentry I get rekt by that card. Also never don’t leave mana open for an unbreakable formation if playing Esper because Kayas wrath is at sorcery speed so pay entention to your mana and the Esper players. Thanks for reading.
As a guy who is returning to the world of MTG and don't want to break the bank, these cards are very good! I would definitely upgrade it to see how it goes. Good job dude!!!! 😁😁😁
Enjoying the content!!! I find it hard to find videos on paper with everyone and their mom playing Arena haha. Anyways trying again to get back into MTG after fizzling out with last year's Challenger decks. If all else fails, I'll just keep on playing Arena.
Awesome! Yeah, Arena has really been taking the MTG world by storm! You won't find any of that here...I play the game in my free time, but my potato computer can't run the game and a screen recorder without dying. :P
could also probly make multi feather with some green mana ramp for counters or giant growth with arcanist so can get back unbreakable formation and whatnot but its difficult being 3 colors and lands are tough to come by if don't got enough money.
Currently I have Lightning Aggro planned for the next video, but I'm working full-time on these and I'm hoping to have them all out this week, so it should be out in a few days regardless. :)
Unfortunately not! There is a finished decklist at the end of the video, but I don't have every individual replacement typed out anywhere right now. Apologies!
I will definitely be doing those! I tend to take more time with them because I have to wait for the prices to settle down - new cards from new sets always have really high prices for the first 2-3 weeks, but I will definitely be upgrading them. :)
TCGplayer (not sponsored) is really cheap. It's a little weird because the site is just a platform for individual sellers, and you have to spend at least $2 to order from a seller, but if you add everything to your card and then use the Cart Optimizer, it'll build the cheapest price possible among all the sellers on the site. Be warned that when you first add the cards, your cart total will probably be lower than the Cart Optimizer price, so don't get too excited by that, but after you use Cart Optimizer it should be way cheaper than any online retailer. Also you'll be supporting Gaming Stores since many of the sellers will be LGS owners. :)
Yeah, most competitive decks splash blue for Sideboard cards, but it's important not to add any basic island to the deck - you have to buy dual lands or Benalish Marshal becomes unreliable. As for God-Eternal Oketra, I'm not sure. It could be good against decks where the battlefield gets clogged up, like Mono-Green decks. I'd say it's probably good in the sideboard for those matchups. :)
It's probably a matter of preference, but Azorious Aggro (which is mono-white with a blue splash for sideboard card) preforms better at the competitive level - and Mono-White is REALLY REALLY GOOD against the izzet decks. In fact, before my LGS closed, I actually never lost to a Blue/Red deck in paper with Boros Aggro. :)
Absolutely! In fact, there is this big "Fnadom Legends" tournament thing happening on Arena and someone recently took 4th place with this deck playing Gideon Blackblade in the sideboard. (Link to decklist below) They were splashing black into the deck for Sorin as well, but that's not necessary. Anyway, you could either move 1 of the Conclave Tribunals or History of Benalias to the sideboard for it. I think he looks pretty strong in the deck, personally! :) Here's that decklist: www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1867258
Yeah! A lot of people are playing Rune Enforcer over things like Hunted Witness and Hunted Witness right now. I recommend checking out this deck, it just won the Magic Online Championship a couple weeks ago! www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/standard-azorius-aggro-81590 No Healer's Hawk, no Hunted Witness, and no Tithe Takers. Instead they're playing Rune Enforcers and Gideon Blackblades.
We don't have an exact date, but it'll be Q4 2019, so sometime between October and December. Core Set 2020 is releasing next month, and Standard will rotate with the set that is released after that. So if you see a new set announced after the core set, standard will rotate on the release date of that set. WOTC just hasn't announced any details yet on whatever is happening after Core 2020. Last year it was October 5th! :)
We got 2 of them, use some specific cards and add 2 gideons. So far so good, in standard showdowns we are playing to the last point. And we are going to use your advise on some things. Thanks.
Yeah, I've been hearing that The Wanderer is excellent in that matchup! You can probably take out the Shield Mares, however, if you want to keep those in as well so you have TONS of stuff against mono-red, taking out Baffling Ends and Remorseful Cleric would probably be fine. Then you could bring in Shield Mares AND The Wanderer against red. It'd make the deck a little slower, for sure, but I think red players would probably have a tough time with all the life gain and damage prevention. :)
@@AffinityforMTG I meant what would you take out in the main deck for the wanderer, I already changed the sideboard so I need to know what to take out in the main board. Thanks in advance
Oh! Right, okay, well I think the best thing to take out of the mainboard would be Conclave Tribunal. That card is meant to take out large threats like Rekindling Phoenix, so The Wanderer is a suitable replacement since she can do the same thing. However, The Wanderer can't deal with Arclight Phoenix, so it would be good to still have access to Conclave Tribunal. Maybe move it to the sideboard and replace Knight of Grace or Demystify if you aren't facing a lot of enchantments. Definitely get those Tribunals in against Phoenix, because that card is obnoxious to deal with.
I've heard The Wanderer is great in the sideboard against Mono-Red, and Tomik actually looks pretty decent even if his land-ability might not be relevant most of the time. A 2-mana 2/3 flyer isn't bad! :)
Yeah, that version looks really cool! I don't know how competitive it will be, but we might know more in a couple weeks - that's when the first major Magic Fest with the new Standard cards will be. We'll see if any of the pros try it! :) But as for me, yeah, it looks like something I would play. You could play the Knights from Dominaria (Knight of Malice/Grace) and Gutterbones too. :)
I don't have exact numbers, but I'll leave 2 links below. One is the Boros Aggro deck I played before my LGS closed, and the other is the most recent Top 8 competitive Boros Aggro deck. amazing video brother:) thank you:) do you think if you were going to make it as competitive as possible while keeping it monowhite, would you include ajanis? if so how many and in the side or ine the main as well? looking forward to hearing your opinion have a grat day:)
Everyone seems to have a different opinion on Ajani. I see some decks running 2 in the main and 1 in the side, and then others don't play him at all. I think, at the very least, 1 or 2 in the sideboard could be good in the mirror match, since it would allow you to build creature big enough to break a board stall.
@@AffinityforMTG hmm i see:) thanks:) im starting out magic again after a long time, are there other times that you would suggest siding in ajani other than a mirror match?
I'm not sure. I played this deck in paper and nothing got me super excited in War of the Spark during preview season. Tomik, Distinguished Advokist might be okay though. A 2-mana 2/3 flyer is a decent body, but I'm not sure if the abilities will be relevant or not.
I am getting back into magic with zero cards. I'm looking at the challenger decks for . competitive play at fnm. Which deck with upgrades is going to get me the furthest? I'm leaning towards this deck or lightening aggro
Yeah, honestly I think it's a matter of preference because they are both basically done. However, most White Aggro decks splash blue, so technically Lightning Aggro is the closest out of the box. No need to buy dual lands or anything, just some commons/uncommons from Ravnica Allegiance and a Risk Factor or 2.

If I'm being honest, if there was one card I would spend a lot of money on, I would make it 'Elesh Norn'. Get a nice 2/2 bump, reduce enemies by 2/2. Sure it costs a lot, but I think that if you're in a game that's taking that long to finish up, you might need something like her to help you out.
I stuck to Standard-legal cards so people could play the decks at Friday Night Magic/Standard Showdown, but that is certainly an option in casual games. :)
