The end of this episode looked to me like it’s leading to the very opening of the first game, where master chief crash lands on the halo.

I have a theory in the scene with Miranda Keys after finding the Forerunner lab and going to UNSC/ONI lab with the device...her opening it (advanced vile) and "mist comes out"...is actually Flood Spores. So Onynx might be comprimised. That's why when her, Kwan Ha, and Halsey touched the Forerunner scientist, the lab sealed itself off like advanced labs do, as a fail safe in case of viral/bacterial contamination breach! Loved Mr. Know it all synopsis of the episode. I can only hope that Paragosky ends up turning into a flood form like Captain Jacob Keyes does in Halo Battle for Instalation 04 in the game...

FYI I was right. Episode 8 proved the Flood has been released on Onynx from the Forerunner container 😊

Also, right about Paragosky... ha, she definitely deserved her fate in Episode 8

Thank you for the positive content. I had my problems with the writing in Season 1, but I'm sick and tired of all the tantrums some people keep throwing. The same thing also happened with the Foundation TV show and fans of the original books. They don't even give constructive feedback, its always just "the show sucks, how can you watch it?". I think Season 1 could have been condensed and should have ended with the Fall of Reach. It would have flown better.... but it is what it is.
Regarding the Forerunner city, Onyx in the books is an artificial planet, as is Requiem (where Halo 4 takes place). The real B-plot is likely going to be a side-by-side telling of The Ghosts of Onyx with the events of Halo CE, whereas in the original lore Ghosts of Onyx happened later during Halo 2... but it gives them a reason to keep the actors engaged for the entire production of the show. Kessler is probably C-plot. What they are likely going for is what the lore referred to as a Spartan 2.1. Offspring of a spartan that inherited the genetic augmentations from his father.
I know so many people have made a big deal of not all humans being reclaimers and most specifically Kwan acting like there is magic and mystic priests in the show. It doesn't fit the original game, but as time went on Bungie tweaked what a reclaimer was from all humanity to specific individuals by the time 343 took over. Starting with Halo 4 they started talking about Forerunner gene songs embedded in ancient humanity that enabled them to interact with technology and also have certain memories and even the essence of their ancestors whom they could talk to in visions (specifically in the Forerunner Saga trilogy books). People unfamiliar with those changes in the lore clearly feel that stuff is out of place in the show, I get it... but its not out of place for actual cannon in its current state. They are clearly retconning these concepts from current cannon back to the Bungie-era part of the story. This is why both the human and forerunner DNA are found at the door, and why Spartans were picked from people who had that DNA profile. The old woman Kwan keeps seeing is possibly an essence of the Librarian... though the one part that makes me question that is the original scene with her in the first episode of the season as other people could see her. But otherwise that theory feels right based on lore.
If I had a guess, the season ends with Chief on Halo, reunited with Cortana.... and the entire next season is the Halo CE story mixed with Ghosts of Onyx.

Thank you for this, I try very hard to stay positive and it means a lot to me that you see that. Also great point about Foundation and fandom in general. Lets try to be better lol

I think you misunderstand like most the Spartan stand at thermopylae.

    9 out of 10?
How are you going to have an episode called “Thermopylae” and have the only battle scene take place OFF SCREEN?
They may as well entitled it “Jeopardy”, with its 5 plot line, a bunch of dialogue and so many unanswered questions. This show is so dumb.
