    Massive Extended Timeline video ► • EU4 from ROME to MODER...
    In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4 1.36 King of Kings) video we will be taking a look at what the game would look like if we cut the base time for sieges from 30 days down to 3. That means sieges will last weeks instead of months, and sometimes years! This will cause some very rapid border changes, and should be a lot of fun!

    I do believe that the time it takes you to siege a fort is too long in comparison to real life. For example, if you play as the Ottomans and you siege Constantinople, it will take you around a year but the real siege was 55 days.

      Siege of Candia was 21 years but if it takes you to siege a province 21 years in the game that means you are a terrible player

      @joundii3100 8 месяцев назад +50

      @@ege2769That's the second longest siege in history. On average sieges were between 2 and 6 months.

      @vasyavsvova5275 8 месяцев назад +21

      Because most sieges ended in an assault
      The siege of Constantinople, for example.
      Who in the game prevents every siege from ending like this?
      Player only

    • @epicarcher999
      @epicarcher999 8 месяцев назад +34

      No offence but Constantinople is a somewhat unfair example too tho. The city walls were severely undermanned, the ottomans had a full blockade on both sides and the guns of Urban were an almost unprecedented technological advance compared to previous siege weapons.

    • @joundii3100
      @joundii3100 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@vasyavsvova5275 Not most. It usually mostly ended with a surrender. Though it depends on the time period.

    I really want to see another underdog chewy vid. I was thinking about something like a modifier that provides +1.00 National Unrest per 300 development or something, maybe caped at +8.00. I want to see big 'ol blobs exploding regularly throughout.

    19:27 I'm more interested in how it work in the field of ingame mechanics. I guess the Papacy(Papal curia) does not exist anymore and the Papal state gets his ruler like every other protestant theocracies.
    But what can be more interesting is the protestant Pope being elected by catholic bishops through the ingame michanics of the Papacy:D

    Your mod is really really good, already played almost every big nation until 1500, Aegyptos has been my favorite so far, my only complaint is that as celticia I don’t think it should require cores to form Brennonia, I ended up waiting many years with a somewhat locked mission tree just to annex the vassals on the isles, I understand you don’t want them to be too OP too early, but I see the AI lose to the Vikings most times anyway, not trying to criticize it’s just my two cents

    Great video Chewie! Mod idea: in real history, a war could be determined by the occupation of a large portion of a country, the loss of an inportant leader/ruler, an integral battle or two, or some key sieges. Is there a wah of implementing these ideas into EU4, in the idea of War Weariness, or like a war support idea from HOI4? Another option could be to make it so anytime a siege ends, battle is lost/won, ruler/heir dies in battle, or certain percentage of provinces are occupied, a dice is rolled for a percent chance for an unconditional surrender, with different percentages for different occurences?
