Massive Extended Timeline video ► • EU4 from ROME to MODER...
In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4 1.36 King of Kings) video we will be taking a look at what the game would look like if we cut the base time for sieges from 30 days down to 3. That means sieges will last weeks instead of months, and sometimes years! This will cause some very rapid border changes, and should be a lot of fun!

Redeemed Zoomer becomes Pope

Ottomans in this game broke apart like porcelain vase thrown from 7th floor on pavement at the end.
I do believe that the time it takes you to siege a fort is too long in comparison to real life. For example, if you play as the Ottomans and you siege Constantinople, it will take you around a year but the real siege was 55 days.
Siege of Candia was 21 years but if it takes you to siege a province 21 years in the game that means you are a terrible player
@@ege2769That's the second longest siege in history. On average sieges were between 2 and 6 months.
Because most sieges ended in an assault
The siege of Constantinople, for example.
Who in the game prevents every siege from ending like this?
Player only
No offence but Constantinople is a somewhat unfair example too tho. The city walls were severely undermanned, the ottomans had a full blockade on both sides and the guns of Urban were an almost unprecedented technological advance compared to previous siege weapons.
@@vasyavsvova5275 Not most. It usually mostly ended with a surrender. Though it depends on the time period.
I really want to see another underdog chewy vid. I was thinking about something like a modifier that provides +1.00 National Unrest per 300 development or something, maybe caped at +8.00. I want to see big 'ol blobs exploding regularly throughout.
That's... That's actually a great idea, Paradox, hire this man
Yeah, your country is actually more peaceful the more you blob, in my mughal WC I stacked so much unrest and true faith modifiers that a full 25 unrest from revolutionary provinces left my provinces unfazed
Because sooo many monuments give true faith tolerance, and they aaaall stack to oblivion
4:33 Most crippling Mingsloption I've ever seen. 10:00.FIRST TIME THE JIN DYNASTY BECAME A THING
I was going to ask "what happened to the Ottoblob?" and then I remembered the new decadence mechanic.
I guess the AI just couldn't handle that *and* the revolution.
I like how the pope was reformed lol, since that defeats the whole point of being the pope
Idk, is the pope catholic?
No, no he isn’t.
Tbh I really Like this one much more then i though I would. Would Love to see it with random lucky natuons. Might produce an interesting outcome :D
18:20 I think is where the hungrian people came from before the formning of slavic nations
19:27 I'm more interested in how it work in the field of ingame mechanics. I guess the Papacy(Papal curia) does not exist anymore and the Papal state gets his ruler like every other protestant theocracies.
But what can be more interesting is the protestant Pope being elected by catholic bishops through the ingame michanics of the Papacy:D
3:35 Timmy-gration.
"It is 1640 and Spain continues to be a disappointment and die."
So the AI somehow managed to create post-Napoleonic Spain in the 1600s?
The Ottoman borders near the end were cursed, but the borders at the end? Big Romania, Reformed Papal Greece, Greater Armenia, that was blessed.
Hey man Always good to see new videos from you❤!
i "played" this mod with another mod that when you siege a fort the region around the fort get sieged to it was chaos
Switerzland: The time is now. *This* is our moment! Otto, can you hang on?
Ottomans: Ha, is the Pope Catholic?
Pope: Well... as to that...
Part 2 to the "Sieges are slow" is this video. Thanks chewy!
Also, is it REALLY pronounced Fínem? I thought it was Finèm
Really enjoy your content since day 1, keep it coming on BOTH channels
I wanna see a Pirate World!
Your mod is really really good, already played almost every big nation until 1500, Aegyptos has been my favorite so far, my only complaint is that as celticia I don’t think it should require cores to form Brennonia, I ended up waiting many years with a somewhat locked mission tree just to annex the vassals on the isles, I understand you don’t want them to be too OP too early, but I see the AI lose to the Vikings most times anyway, not trying to criticize it’s just my two cents
Great video Chewie! Mod idea: in real history, a war could be determined by the occupation of a large portion of a country, the loss of an inportant leader/ruler, an integral battle or two, or some key sieges. Is there a wah of implementing these ideas into EU4, in the idea of War Weariness, or like a war support idea from HOI4? Another option could be to make it so anytime a siege ends, battle is lost/won, ruler/heir dies in battle, or certain percentage of provinces are occupied, a dice is rolled for a percent chance for an unconditional surrender, with different percentages for different occurences?
now do the opposite where sieges last 300 days
twice the pride, double the fall
The Reformed Papacy? Ian Paisley had the last laugh it seems.
The lack of natives in a New World is disappointing... imagine if they blobbed into a unified empire.
What if there is always rebel chaos? Infinite years of separatism or simply every nation +10 base unrest? So which country can survive the constant rebels the best. Will we get blobs? Which random tags will pop out?
I feel like the new patch nerfed the ottomans way too hard
they literally from n1 great power to being a shredded lettuce

“I regret to inform you that the Pope is not Catholic.”
Hello..? Why is this video unlisted?
This mod looks like it could acc lead to a whacky campaign! also the wrong link in description
Is this playable in the workshop? I would love to play this! Thanks for the video Chewy!
how do you even get it to work? im making a mod that lowers it & its not working
Could you add the timeline of the game in high speed at the end of the video, would be very interesting.
Decadence disastre still as impossible for the ai to handle as ever.they should make it like court and country disastre and have a bad resulution with some bad perm modifier.
you should do this for attrition ticks
can you do eu4 mod anbennar plz?
Or what if institutions dont spawn in Europe but only in Africa/Asia.
Can you update the post finem announcement seeing as we're already past the first update?
also maybe put the post finem discord link out :D
Siege eh? 🫣

BRAZIL MENTIONED
I thought it was mechanically impossible for the Papacy to become any religion other than Catholic 😅
I don't know in recent patches, but lambdaxx made a video on how to become rainbow alcheringa kingdom of god (also hre emperor and celestial emperor) on an older patch. He explains that is basically impossible for the 1444 papal state to change religion, but you can if you manage to create a new papal state later on without his starting government reform
Yeah some shenanigans happened, no idea
There used to be a common bug where there is a event to become Reformed and the Papal States could take it. I thought it has long since been patched so idk what is happening here.
can you send what mod is this
It's in the description.
yeah but he has normal map i would love to play with nomral map
