    I'll keep these things in mind
    1. Take a half-body stance.
    2. Stand the sword at your center line.
    3. Create space between you and your opponent.

    The concepts this guy is showing remind me so much of taiji jian(sword). Soft overcomes hard and maintains a root with peng(repulse energy). Great work!

    The only thing I notice difficult with sparring using Bokken is someone stabbing at you with the other Bokken. Maybe that's just a one eye thing.

    is it possible to punch an opponent instead of using the tanto or wakizashi, say you only had the katana and you parried with it, could you follow up with a punch

      I believe the timing to evade an opponent's punch is the same, as I have trained in karate, kickboxing, etc.
