Knowing my luck I'd ruin the monitor, be up a creek without a paddle, and have no method of playing some video games at 60 fps. Then again after another year or 2 a single stick 8gb of ram won't be enough to play fortnite anymore so it might be worth it!

We taped over it with painters tape! If any does get on the panel you can use rubbing alcohol to wipe it off :) (assuming there’s not too much paint)

Every bit of info is right there, more detail is just disassemble, sand, clean, prime, paint, sand, clear coat, reassemble

how did you teardown that monitor without screws?
Question- does the paint go into air vents on the back? I want to paint my monitor and am thinking about this part.
you can just tape off the vents :)
next time use paper + tape for the screen
