Coach Chippys shot rivals Bedard’s, you’ll never find tape that’ll stay on his blade for this kind of video boys
It's just not possible
@@HadenHiles your a
Straight beauty just like
Jeremy
Paynan knows
It's also Coach Chippy so no disrespect
how are the repaired sticks doing?
That’s what I was wondering
I used the grip tape last year. I made a template of the blade out of cardboard, to get the perfect shape. The first time it didn't stick well at all, so for the second attempt I used the heat gun and a small rubber roller to press it on. It stuck really well and It was pretty good to play with. Although, it needed more heat to remove it and couldn't be changed quickly mid game, so I've gone back to tape. I might try it again when I start playing inline again though.
@abubakarsadiqsaleh SCAM!!!!! 🖕
With the skills like these lads, I believe more challenge is required 😉
i think the grit tape would shoot the best...the sticky, tacky stuff would affect the path of the puck whereas the grit would just allow better traction of the puck on the blade....kind of like the grit on a pickleball paddle or sandpaper on a ping pong paddle...what a great idea guys
Griptape*
That’s an insanely Canadian accent on saying Zorro, my goodness.
I used to play hockey for a long time in Sweden. Tape with tar isn't common but it does exist! I had tarred cloth tape on a couple of my sticks and it did perform decent but once the blade froze it became normal tape more or less, just a tad bit more grip when frozen. Snowcovered is just snowcovered, no grip at all like always. Everyone who came into duels with me could smell the tape hahaha.
Thanks to you guys illegel curve is a thing of the past
Most style and flow crossover in RUclips history
The video came out awesome!! LET'S GOOOO
Thanks for the help bud :D
Look at the mitts on that first bingo 👀
been watching your videos fro a while now forgot to sun so just did.
ps love your videos
Jeremy I love ur vids
sick video man
Nice vid bro love to see you upload
3m and hockey canada used to have a product at Canadian tire that you apply on top of your hockey tape. Was like a black tar and I actually really liked it, but it did add a decent amount of weight to the blade of course.
Coach chippy bout to toe drag release on those bums 😂
Hi coach Jeremy. I've got an idea for a wrap around (blade protector) alternative. Can you please try kevlar tape? It's abrasive resistant and not bulky. I've no idea if it will work, but I think you are the perfect person to try it. Thank you for your time and content.
my tape job- just one strip along the bottom
Yooo Jeremy what’s up just wanted to say I’ve been watching you since the factory vid just wanted to say I love you and ur content
Love the Idea!!
That agent is the 77 p92 its what i have could use another stick?
I had a can of tar/glue for roof material. It stayed sticky for a while. It never would wear out but eventually the outer layer of fiber glass came of the Montreal wood/fiberglass stick. Next I'm going to put on table tennis rubber with the knobs out and some wax. I think if you can get the puck to spin in the air you can get hooks and slices to fool the goalie. Also there is a glue for car windshields that never dry and always are sticky. And hand boll players cover there hands with something sticky. One day I will find the right stuff!
Definitely going to try the grip tape!
Little tip for peeling off the stickers on the blade, use stick tape, works really well
The grip tape is basically a cheap version of rezztek.
First rule of lacrosse. When given a chance to do the goalie dirty. Do him as dirty as possible
knew chippy played for barrie im weak LMAO
hahaha dude at 6:30 when he passed jeremy the puck it looked like he was using a magnet the way it landed n settled , Newest META tape job boys
“Is that illegal can you use grip tape?” Not at the moment…. Lol
I put skateboard grip tape on my daughters stick years ago. She was too young to take advantage but said she liked it.
Good skateboard grip is more robust than typical grip tapes. Cut the tape so it is larger than the blade, heat the blade, heat the tape, apply the tape to one side of the stick, cut the tape with a razor blade on an angle to to the flat surface of the blade so the cut is just inside the perimeter of the blade (learned this from the local skateboard shop pro), press the tape into the blade. Repeat for the 2nd side of the blade. This leaves the bottom of the blade with noting on it, so it slides better than with hockey tape and certainly if you tried to wrap grip tape around the bottom - so better for stick handling and shooting (less friction = quicker). Heating helps the adhesive bond better and if you heat both to similar temperatures there is less stress on the tape. I've been doing this for my son and myself for a few years, better puck control, saucer passes, toe drags and better spin on a wrist shot. My 13 year old would make it through about 10 hours of ice time before the forehand needed to be replaced and about 20 hours for the backhand. With cloth tape he would make it through 2 hours max. When you have practiced it enough it is less time to maintain the grip tape than cloth tape.
What a shame on our weather in the horseshoe area no pond hockey really this year unless you go up north.
i use skateboard tape for roller hockey. it works
Is reztek not available in Canada?
I just got the idea a few days ago for the reverse tape 😂
pretty sure the grip tape for hockey is already a product tho
I always imagine the opposing team on these videos to be the Washington Generals.
What about clear plastic tape? Ever tried that TJ?
Have it put on at a skateboard shop
Style and flow😂
Should try gummy double-sided tape (aka carpet tape).
I've got two little segments of grip tape towards the toe of my ball hockey stick. I'm not certain but I feel like it imparts a spin on the ball. I'm not sure how it compares to commercially available grip tape though, I yoinked it from a factory job.
Try rezzetek if you liked that grippy tape
Is chippy on the old paint cams noW?
Hey, was coach jeremy with ccm ? Because in most videos he got ccm but this one he got bauer sticks. Just to know (honestly im a bauer guy)
Nice episode actually ! Consider also Gorilla tape. It's so heavy duty that it feels like it will protect your stick and keep moisture out pretty well. It rips pretty easily which is convenient without scissors. But the downside is it's pretty hard to get off from your blade, it leaves glue residues.
I looked up under USA hockey reg. 301 it states. “Adhesive tape of any color may be wrapped around the stick at any place for the purpose of reinforcement or to improve control of the puck.” So as long as it has an adhesive backing to it it’s ok. I put some grip tape on and wrapped the some regular stick tape on the ends and middle to prevent it falling off. So far it’s held up. A couple of puck fights and it does begin to flake a little.
Grip tape first, then candy cane the stick tape.
Coach chippy with the full cage?
Good job
USA hockey rules say tape may be used "to improve control of the puck." Nothing in the rules that limits what kind of tape, or how it's applied. So yes, even the reverse duck tape is legal.
Experiment with “carpet tape”. Would love to see what you boys come up with.
I have actually used duck tape to my stick before
As a referee in mens leagues there is no rule banning the use of adhesive tapes such as duck tape or spider tech or pine tar
Although there is no specific rule against this both unsportsmanlike conduct and illegal equipment can be used if the ref doesn’t like it
I wonder how much traction I could get applying grip tape to the insole of my skates for butterfly slides.
What ever happened to grip tape? It was black and sticky on both sides. Everyone used it and it was sold in hockey pro-shops everywhere. That was in the early 90’s. We basically had 2 choices of tape. Grip tape and white cloth tape.
Friction tape is still around
IDK where these guys are from, but as a canadian ref, the tread tape is 100% illegal.
id porbally put it on the handle to grip better
I tried that, it seemed like it was going to eat my gloves within hours. I also got a huge blood blister through the glove.
I've still got a tiny bit of the grip tape peeking through cloth tape and it definitely improves grip. Almost too much, if there's too large of contact patch.
just checked the USA Hockey rule book... there are no rules prohibiting any type of tape, the rules only state that "adhesive tape" is permitted anywhere on the stick. most leagues follow the USA Hockey rules for equipment so US players are good here 😉
Reminds me of the old Easton Mako blade
LETS GO COACH CHIPPY IN THE HOUSE!
coach chips must’ve been hitting forearms with bedard
Next you should do a legal grip 😂
It's just griptape. That's the proper name. When I used to play hockey, I used to use the scrap grip tape from my new skateboard decks to put across the blade of my stick. I was held down with hockey tape. Refs didnt really care as how yong i was and was around when parents really didnt give a shit for anyone except their kids. Over time though, griptape wears off from water and typical wear. It wasn't bad, but would slowly go to shit and was pain to remove with spray adhesive I'd use. Lol
My tape job goes from the end and covers the toe
What tape did Hayden use?
Grip tape on just the toe
J'ai déjà mis un papier sabler avec un côté collant sa un grip incroyable lol la puck colle sur le tape je fesait dla magie lol avec ca mes jai jamais retrouver ce tape la dans un magasin meme pour la construction
I tried the tread tape idea. Works until.... You get snow on the blade 🙂Honestly, I like stick wax. The tackier, the better.
How do you not have 2 1/2 feet of snow rn jermey that makes no sense
Rezztek has left the chat
Gretzky use to put baby powder on his taped blade
I've done that when using hockey tape to wrap waster handles. They're kinda gross to use bare-handed without doing that.
I guess Gretzky was hoping for consistent performance instead of the unpredictable wearing of the stickiness?
Try Yew wax it’s ridiculously sticky
I would go and use it for grip tape
Has anyone else noticed Chippy's jersey number??
The lightest stick is the hazdorus sorry of I spelled it wrong
No its the agent🤷♂️
the nexus sync is WAY lighter than the ag5nt
next illegal sticks

As long as you don't carry the puck higher than your shoulders, "high sticking" you are legal
Yo wsp I’m on my moms account but I have a 3 hockey sticks and how is it illegal
