Good stuff man! The only jig! Ive been swimming tha last couple yrs is the punisher love that thing but since you tha one that turned me on to it I definitely had to order some Apex! Especially when you need that more compact look. cant wait to fish em !
Man Kyle, can't believe your catch didn't get you into the final day. Pretty sure you were going to catch a 25+ back. Still had a good tournament and looking forward to your next.
Kyle, there are certain anglers that are 'made' to catch larger fish. I think those couple of days fall into that category. Of the angler who catches the large fish weights. When they are going.
Then there are the other anglers. Who just manage to find anything. When no one can. Perhaps not as impressive in size as these twenty pound bags of five (I'm thinking more of the MLF format perhaps, where every fish counts). And some of those guys catch a dozen two pounders maybe. To catch a similar weight. To someone catching those large bags of five. I can confidently say though. I've never had days like those ones. On Santee Copper. Those kinds of days in salmon and trout angling. Had basically expired by the time that I arrived. In most parts of the world. However, catching them when it's extremely tough (to even get a bite). Was still a challenge that one could aim for. In my thirties and forties. Enough to keep it interesting.
I'm just old enough to remember anglers coming back with bags like that though. It reminded me of it. And how ridiculous a thing it is in some ways. The saltwater competition anglers in America. Used to have some amazing good angling. Back in the day too. And those times are long gone too. They've had to re-adjust. A lot of folk just don't understand at all. How healthy and well managed an environmental resource that is required. To produce that excellent kind of fishing. That one can see here. It's actually a real privelege to be able to experience this. In the twenty-first century at all. All I could add by way of comment. Is that one has to practice fishing in those circumstances where fishing is brutally hard too. To begin to gain experience on that side. The non-custom solutions won't work then.
I said it before too. There are a lot of non-standard things one has to do. To attract fish, when fishing isn't easy. And one thing that anglers haven't figured out in bass. Is that many of the spinner baits and such. Are too neat and clean. For those very hard days. I always prefer something. That is beaten up, burned, battered and broken looking. In terms of a bait (like it's just come back from the wars). For those days. The kind of bait you'd show to someone. And they'd ask you. What the heck is that? On days when you're able to catch twenty or thirty pounds. The guys who are neat and organized. Are better equipped to manage. On days when fishing is lousy. It's the last thing that you would think would catch a fish. Will fill a boat with them. I don't know why. It's a side to one's game though. That is an alternative side. That has to evolve into.
I agree about the neat and clean being a deterrent for sure. I always trim and then my skirts and all to make it look less blocky and flow more naturally. I do keep them clean typically though
After having camera crews all over you boat, the last few weeks, I bet fishing alone was peaceful! Don’t get use to it, the odds are with your talent your boat will be full of cameras the rest of the year!!

@@KyleWelcher It takes a while to get in contact with your punk rock twisted fire starter side, if you've been raised too much on Beethoven.
