Back in the mid 1960's my father was stationed in Brussels by the Air Force. They had an aprtment on Rue de Bresil. At that time two lines ran on that street: number 4 and 16. Line 4 ended by the old Bourse building near the Grand Place. Line 16 ran out to the 1958 fair site near the Atomium. This was just as the pre-metro construction was starting.
Many thanks for your comment. Now at this place the 4,16,32,93 and 94 are history... But since the beginning of the '90, the streetcar network is growing again. Tramways still runs along this avenue with a intersection station with the railway (commuter network). There are not so much lines now but two important lines ; 8 and 25 with very frequent service (4 to 6 minutes interval) are running there. Line 8 is an important line serving in the center the avenue and place Louise, south and southeast important new places such as malls and industries. This new section (about 8 miles) is new and built on private right of way along the outer ring to Woluwe. Thanks a lot, stay safe and take care of you !👍👍😀
Thank you for these great videos! I enjoy being able to travel around Brussels from home through these videos! One question: I think I understand the new line 10 routing that will start soon, but could you tell us the routings for lines 11 and 22?
Yes Indeed ! In fact line 10 will run from Churchill via the north-south tunnel to "Hôpital Militaire". If you look closer line 10 will replace line 3 between Churchill and Hembeek. From Hembeek to "Hôpital militaire" the line will run on new tracks thru the suburb of "Neer-over-Hemmbeek". Lines 11 and 22 will replace entirely lines 25 and 3 (between Heembeek and Esplannade). New routes 11 and 22 as follows : 11 Boondael - Buyl - Meiser - Hembeek - De Wand - Esplanade and 22 : Rogier - Liedts - Meiser - Da Vinci - Eurocontrol. You can see that line 22 will double line 62 between Liedts and Eurocontrol without modification for line 62 on this section. There will also be minor changes in the north-west : line 9 will run as follow : Roi Baudouin - UZ Brussel - Miroir - Simonis and further -> Schweitzer - Groot Bijgaarden. Line 19 will be cut at Simonis running on the eastern side only : Simoinis - Miroir - Degreef - De Wand. In fact with these modifications, two lines will be discontinued : 3 and 25 and three lines will be created : 10, 11 and 22 ! The dealine for these modifications are July for lines 9 and 19 and September/October for lines 3,10,11,22 and 25.
Yes of course, the plan is still there. Works are being stopped for the moment because of construction problem and higher cost than expected. But it is still projected to convert tram 55 into the new Subway line 3 due to open in 2034 or later...
Yes indeed, tram 92 could be the first of those lines. It's just a matter of time but it will follow in a near future. Thanks for your comment and your appreciation. Have a nice day😉😀

Thank you very much! I did not know any of that, and could not find it by searching.@@vdvlb
Is there still a plan to convert line 55 into metro line 4??? Thank you for the great videos. Very interesting

Why the 35 min wait on the penultimate stop? The end station does not seem that busy.
The tram does not wait for so long. If you look carefully, you'll see it's just a reset of the station's clock. Thanks for your comment. 🙂
Can you do Tram 92 or 93 or 97 pls?
