Is it possible to show the results for each phase (production, use...) like u did at 23:40 Min automatically or do i have to create this overview myself?
This table was created in excel with the results available in openLCA. Please, look at the “Process Results” tab, and then you can find the % in the Impact Assessment Results, column “Contribution”.
There is no such video yet. You can add data from literature by creating a new process, then add the data source in the "Administrative Information" tab in Processes. There is a central place for sources under Background data in the database navigation panel (left). One can also add data quality in openLCA, and uncertainty.
I wanna you expalin how could I build the impact of production of e-scooter. I mean input and output with amount of each flow related to building materials of e-scooter.
Hi Eshara, thanks for your question. There are basically two options: (1) You create a provider process by collecting primary data from literature or if this is somehow not feasible (2) you can use background databases for your modelling. On nexus.openlca.org, you can see all options available for openLCA, among them also some free ones.
Thank you for the presentation. How do I display a mass balance in openLCA? I was recommended to check my input and output flows but I mainly used ecoinvent processes. Doesnt they include already all input & outputs? Thank you in advance
To check the input and outputs of a specific process from ecoinvent, you can open the process and check the “Inputs/outputs” tab. Besides that, after you create the product system and calculate the results, the tab “Inventory Results” summarizes all inputs, outputs, and total requirements of your product system.
Dear Adarsh, 1 p*km was chosen as functional unit to be able to compare the product system with other systems. The manual dismantling is also refering to this number.
Hi! Thank you for the presentation, I have the following questions. 1. Could you share how did you model the end of life? I understand that you created a USE phase with data available and from literature, but after this how do you transition from the full scooter to the parts that have to undergo different end-of-life treatment? And also could you tell me in the path you followed how you managed the negative flows or credits? 2. I was checking other tutorials for modeling in open LCA and they described two paths one is creating just one production process linked to one final material namely your final product and the other is creating several subprocesses interconnected. Which one did you follow? Is it possible to have a picture of your final model diagram?
For the end of life, manual dismantling (taken from ecoinvent) is considered, therefore credits coming from recycling, for example, were not considered.
Hi, How can you model new flows? like flows which do not exist in your database? and if you can model new flows how can you assign impact factors to them?
You can create a new product or elementary flow by going to the navigation panel, right click on flows, new flow. Alternatively you can make a new product flow when making a new process too. Elementary flows should be added to the methods with an impact factor. You can do this in the methods (green) folder: open an impact category and add your flow there.
@@openLCA Hi, but for flows that does not exist and as we create as we will for new flow, how do we factor in the previous pre process that is involve in the newly created flow? For example, I need Phenol Formaldehyde Resin, and I just add in this new flow but hows the earlier process to achieve this specific resin?
Hello thanks for the great presentation , please can you tell me what about the oil consumption does she take it into consideration and what is petrol in the inputs is it fuel consumption quantity ? and another question , I understand that the petrol flow in the inputs are related to the way of combustion of the fuel depending on each engine type please correct for me if I am wrong or does she means that each scooter will take a different type of fuel like one can take normal fuel and the other will take super fuel.. it would be great if you can answer ,I am a researcher in a different field but these 2 questions will help me to understand the modeling criteria. thanks in advance
I was looking for a complete case study but unfortunately I had to stop watching this video after 12min, because for me it was difficult to fully understand the speaker. I had to concentrate so hard, to understand her english (bc I'm also not a native speaker) so that I couldn't focus on what she showed me. I don't want to be mean bc she sure did a well job on her case, but subtitles would've helped me a lot :))
Hey, yes, sure! We compared two types of batteries, one from ecoinvent dataset, and the other one (the "Battery airport production") from a data collected from other source, related to battery applied for electrical vehicles in an airport.
Maam, Can you please done the life cycle assesment of surgical mask and cotton mask.

Hi, how did you input the data you found in literature? Is there any video or other instructions about it?
There is no such video yet. You can add data from literature by creating a new process, then add the data source in the "Administrative Information" tab in Processes. There is a central place for sources under Background data in the database navigation panel (left). One can also add data quality in openLCA, and uncertainty.
28:46 I couldn't understand that part 11 so equals 0 ?
@8:46 , you show life expectancy of 50 km on slides but says it is 50,000 km, is there an error in decimal placement on the slide?
Hey, the 50 is for the capacity of the scooter (50 cubic centimeters, cc or cm3). The life expectancy is 50000 km
Very interesting and helpful, thank you!
How do we select the impact assessment method? Does it depend or we can select any method?
How can I get the relevant model data
I wanna you expalin how could I build the impact of production of e-scooter. I mean input and output with amount of each flow related to building materials of e-scooter.
Can I know how to create the product system without having providers data

Plz do more LCAs using eco invent data base.specially creating new data records and things.thank you
Hi, we have quite some case studies with the ecoinvent database here: www.openlca.org/case-studies/ - we hope that you find this useful!
why output of manual dismantling is 1p*km(i.e. in distance), instead of 1 item
Dear Adarsh, 1 p*km was chosen as functional unit to be able to compare the product system with other systems. The manual dismantling is also refering to this number.

Hi could please show us how to modle a product using recycled materials.for an example ,modle for a t shirt using recycled cotton.
How did you model life expectancy in openLCA?
Life expectancy was taken from different sources, such as (Leuenberger and Büsser,
2010).

for bricks any free databases for LCA using openLCA! plz
Hello
thanks for the great presentation ,
please can you tell me what about the oil consumption does she take it into consideration and what is petrol in the inputs is it fuel consumption quantity ?
and another question , I understand that the petrol flow in the inputs are related to the way of combustion of the fuel depending on each engine type
please correct for me if I am wrong
or does she means that each scooter will take a different type of fuel like one can take normal fuel and the other will take super fuel..
it would be great if you can answer ,I am a researcher in a different field but these 2 questions will help me to understand the modeling criteria.
thanks in advance
Hey. Thanks for the question. Different types of fuel were considered
why data quality ?? we couldn't manage by forgetting this part ???

Thanks for the feedback, we´ll consider it
Btw, if you click on settings, you can add subtitles from RUclips, which seems to work really well. maybe, you want to give it a try
Thank you for Such a nice and informative presentation. Pl tell me what do you mean by "Battery airport production"
Hey, yes, sure! We compared two types of batteries, one from ecoinvent dataset, and the other one (the "Battery airport production") from a data collected from other source, related to battery applied for electrical vehicles in an airport.
