Wonderful module, been using it for a few months, it's so deep but also easy to use (once you learn how to read the display). Much to explore with it.

I’ve had the kit loaded in my cart for a while. I knew I would enjoy it, but it really helps to have a solid walkthrough like this. Now I’m certain. Thanks, Jeremy

The first voices overdub killed me. I’ve been eyeing this up for a while and you’ve just convinced me to press buy. Love that they sell it as a DIY kit too! Will be spending an afternoon next week with the soldering iron out 🤝

been waiting for your take on this thing. exactly the same experience as far as not reaching for it simply because its a little more in depth. Stoked to get inspired to dive into it a bit more after this!

One of the things I really like with the RYK is that theres a DIY project. It is pretty complex but you can save some money. If i ever build out a eurorack system this will be in it

I have the vector wave. It doesn’t feel all that complicated or hard to grasp once you play with it for a bit.
It’s similar to a digitone in that you have a 4-op FM synth x 4. You can use that to create a single 4-voice patch, 4 monophonic fm lines, or a single monophonic voice where you can morph between each bank.
I will say though, coming from the digitone I was a little underwhelmed by the FM engine in this module. Most of the basics are there but some things missing such as oscillator feedback. I also wish the midi implementation didn’t require you to use up your mod slots (you only get 6 per patch).

Man this thing looks and sounds so cool. I have joked for some time that I'm only a minor midlife crisis away from getting into modular and stuff like this is making it even more difficult not to go down the rabbit hole...

im back and peeking ryk stuff.. might have already commented.. but i need to try to do what you do... MIX UP THE GEAR... i dont use zoia enough and here u r making it useful.. did you program the zoia for this performance or are those downloaded algos? sounds sick, pz.

If'n folks want to play with a free vector synth module, Detour by Hora in VCV rack is awesome. Whole bunch of cool stuff in it, with a pile of CV inputs, and a fancy pants graphical screen. Looking at it, I figure a hardware version would be an easy grand.

  • @The.Sky.Driver

I think I have to agree on the desktop module. It draws heavily on menu diving. Would love something closer to a kpf config. Nice review, awesome sounds as usual!

  • @CatFish107

That little pod setup looks like a good rig for doing sponsored content, should a sponsor want their product shown on its own, and not around "competitors". (I don't get the feeling that module makers are like this though). It certainly does make the module stand out, vs in your big rack. Cheeky wink at the Patchwerks blank in there too.
Flash forward: It's the year 2055, and Jeremy's relieving Andrew Huang on the ISS (International Synth Station), in orbit, bunch of stickers all over the exterior, like nascar. Interior view: Joysticks, speakers, and modules stuck to every surface.

All that funky deep stuff is fine and well. But you know what is even more important: both the module and the expander are odd size. So they add up to be an even 20 hp.

Jeremy, all good dude, thanks for the explanations at the the start BUT i think you enough believers in you to see past mis-wording...
Personally at least, (I've probably 20 years or more less experience than you,*but*), I've jagged do much and love your delivery in the uploads!
    You keep teaching me shit!
To date, my most favourite video you did was on the internet archive samples, but I've found *a lot* more from you too!
TBF, only been exposed to your channel for 18 months???
I've so many channels that get Australian generated, however, you've (thanks to the RUclips gods) still remained in my bed and I've freaking learned some sh... From you!!!.
    Awesome sh......
    Eet!
In particularly interested in more M8 and MPC One, even pocket operators, especially linking between them all, only if you are short on upload ideas, otherwise i an here to enjoy your expertise!
So glad i found your channel a while back. Enjoyed since and not going anywhere either!
Keep up the great work (if you can: but you're a natural for this, that's why we are here!)

Thanks for the demo, but I think packing so much functionality in such a small form factor is a wrong idea.
Can it be useful to someone who has enough time to dive deep into that interface? Sure. With today's technology, it's possible to go even further, but in my humble opinion, that's not what modular synthesis should be about. There are polyphonic oscillators for Eurorack, but much simpler and more friendly.
