I checked it out yesterday they scripted a high elf zone a different one from what I saw months ago it looks so good and fun unfortunately I felt guilty the whole time as a Christian and I had to stop I was convicted but man they just run everything better than blizzard
I think you don't have to feel guilty. Turtle wow is a heart project, and the game is 20 years old. I play here because it's the only way to play the game I loved, and I think that blizzard just want to take money from people, without putting soul anymore. @@starsareangels7
Ha, my thoughts as well. Such a shame Blizzard turned into this rigid corporation that cares more about completely opposite things than developing good games for their clients. I canceled my sub a couple of months ago and i feel like I made a very good decision of not wasting my time and money.

@@montoneas9618really good! Ive been playing it with my wife, mainly hardcore,for years. Honestly havent seen many spam/bot issues.
I think theyve had their fair share of gold trading but its not completely blatant and the most i hear about it is reminders from GMs that it "wont be tolerated" which i see as a good sign.

I came back after 15 years to wow , to see what classic+ is after i saw the show on the Blizzcon. I get addicted again and tried all versions. And i definetly feel, that the oldest version is relaxed and make me fun and that new retail wow versions makes me feel like i iam forced to something..
I lasted 3 days in SOD. I saw, with the clarity of a prognosticator, every single issue with SOD. It's not Classic+. The moment you completely change the classes, it's not Classic. Classic+ is a very simple concept: 1. SLIGHTLY tweak classes without changing their core game play so more build options can perform in raids, 2. New content within the game world while expanding existing systems. Just make Classic a live game again. Blizzard is completely, and utterly disconnected with their audience because they only see them as a single lump of humanity that can be monetized endlessly and shared across all products. They do not recognize gaming and server communities, which is exactly what a Classic audience is. Most would rather see a server reset than to move on to the next expansion.

I made a prediction after SoD was announced that it was an abomination and a lazy way to act like it was classic+ and I was blamed by most people. Looks like it was a good prediction. It's also so fun when people are trying to defend the SoD team that they do not create new stuff because they do not have enough resources, people etc. so funny. Do you get charged less? Can you imaigine McDonalds making you a big mac without meat and saying that they do not have enough resources ;D
then imagine mcdonalds buying a delivery company, charging to deliver your food and half of its missing, cold and useless because they delivered to the 1,000 npc bots along the way without questioning a single transaction all while telling you they are upholding the 100% satisfaction guarantee
and when you suggest removing the bots you get told that its necessary we don't remove them so we can learn how they are doing it...
once the foods gone cold it cant be reheated
After nax come out how could they possibly make a phase with more content enough to call it a new phase
Yea I quit SOD pretty much for the same reasons, incursions and xp buffs destroy the classic leveling experience. Which is the best part of classic. Too many runes etc...
I like both classic and retail but the key is to keep the feel of the games separate.

New quests & quest hubs would have been so much better than nightmare incursions that just make you skip questing altogether.
Incursions dont make u skip quests, u could choice to be questing, the game dont obey u to do nothing, wake up

I noticed in Phase 4 that the bloodelfs got their face's redone so they ain't as fuggly as earlier.. so they might have plans for northen plague lands ?
I went back to classic (cata), i am raiding twice a week with the same people i raided during tbc and wrath, outside of that not really playing wow and not planning to go back to sod, phase 3 killed it for me and it does not seem worth it to look for a new sod guild etc.
SoD was fun for like a week but didn’t push into “classic+” nearly as much as I wanted. Got bored of it real fast
I personaly quit after the false ban wave, I got my second Account banned for no reason i lost 3k gold and all motivation to keep playing

Was interesting to hear you bring up Season of Mastery, because that was definitely my thought when they first brought in the XP boost early into phase 2: that SoD was becoming SoM2: all about rushing through the levels to do Vanilla raids again, just with a bit of a twist. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but the way they promoted SoD at BlizzCon certainly made it sound like something different, more focused on the world and levelling. (I myself had a blast in phase one, just to promptly lose all drive to play SoD within a week of phase two.)
Sod got me hard addicted to wow again and living my life around it more and more. Now I’m seeing this game mode is tanking and a lot of player perception is the same. I’m looking to take the same softer approach to this phase and try to ween off wow more and enjoy it for what it is.
Are you still going to do gold guides for sod?
IMO There's not much gold guide needed in P4 just do your profession CD, print money through real coins, do dailies. What do you even want to spend your money on? Economy is quite stable, with low prices. Solheim hasn't much work to do here, he's been forced to retire from this version xD
Mages warriors rogues all top dmg... just like original classic in 2019... i thought a main point of of sod was to make other classes shine? And for the meta to be different??

Ok, here I thought I was going to call you a lightweight ;) I can respect that... hell, I have 8 Ally toons and 7 Hordie toons I'm lvl 30 on my main, next 3 allies at 26, 1 at 25, last 3 toons ally side 24's. Horde side my main is a Shammy, 22, 2 18's, a 15 and the last 3 at 13. I'm liking the SoD play, tho I'd have done some stuff differently.
Only counter point I have with slowing down leveling is that if it takes more than 2 weeks to level a classs 1- 60, that is over effectively 25% of a phase just to level. The season part of Sod is really hurting things for it to be classic. It also does not help that people want to dungeon boost to get to max level fast in phase 2/3 and then incursions basically sped it up even faster. Also, if this is classic+, bfd, gnomer, and to a lesser extent st all break blizzard's 2005 raid design philosophy (no leveling raids because the content becomes trivial at lvl 60). Class balance should have been tested more with a ptr since the start of phase 2 like we did with phase 4. If they were to add them to a classic+, gnomer and bfd would need to be changed to a 10 man dungeon without the bonus exp from each boss. ST does invalidate a good chunk of gear from dungeons at 60 in terms of prebis. I expect one more set of runes for shoulders at the minimum. Even then, the rune situation is just a mess due to the fact that every class needs to get 3-4 for each slot each phase and some classes just don't need them while others needs them to flesh out a spec or fix some bad spell design *glares at volly and hurricane*.
edit: after thinking about it, sod feels more like Mop remix than classic+ or retail. The power creep is there, but it does not have the infinite scaling artifact cloak or busted gear leveling.

Do you guys really believe that today's devs are capable of capturing the essence of classic and continuing to develop classic as classic +? People wanted a couple of adjustments to make some unviable specs playable, not dramatically change the game. There is no more dependency on other classes. It's exactly retail-like. If they just did these couple of tweaks on classes they would have a ton of time and resources to develop all the new zones/quests/dungeons that were originally planned in og vanilla..
one issue I see is making unviable specs playable will drastically change the game. if boomklin was made viable in raids, now you need one for every ranged/heal group for the spell crit to be optimal. there goes 4 spots for mages/warlocks. But then again, this is if warriors aren't still the meta best dps spec and people get a reason not to spam warriors for fast runs.

cataclysm classic retail light is a great way to put it. All we wanted with SOD was new raids/dungeons ret being good SP being good boomy being good and just all around class tweaks. But instead they gave us retail
The fact that people thought this was classic+ were funny to me, I quit my warr in the end of season 1 because this aint classic+ as you said, its cata-.
Sure some people might like it but to disguise it as classic is just a meme.
Welcome to the club dawg, I'm using sod to ween myself off of my wow addiction. Already abandoned my wrath toon that had hundreds of /days played. If they ever do a proper classic + I might think about keep going.
tbh im exited my self to go back to retail. its been a very long time but i feel retail calling back to me lmfao.
I was huffin and a puffin on the hopium that they would fix 2h enhance by phase 4...i guess they did with passive buffs, but it's the worst way imo.
It's the rotation that feels bad to me.
As 2H enhance, we have no new melee rune like duel wield does, making our lava burst and chain lightning fight over our maelstrom procs. Im fine with the nerfs we got, I don't care about being top of the dps, I just want my spec to feel good, like an enhancement, not an ele in melee range.
My solution, just give 2h access to lave lash with less %damage
Id prefer a new melee rune for 2h that does nature damage, haha, but that may be pushing it 😅
Your sanity is already thanking you lol and honestly I have had a blast in the remix can't wait for TWW and I'm even new to Retail lol. IMO all of this is a funnel for everyone to go to Retail in the long run.
Im with ya I was bummed out to see that Azshara had no new quest's while I wish to learn more about the lore that way.. would be so awesome with a water dungeon but instead they just cut a part of the map off and make it in to a a new lvl 60 dung. . .

When they announced hard mode MC, and the subtle change to the guild tab to retail is terrible. Notice how all the devs only do interviews with pro retail streamers who play sod.

Who like slow lvl, all the streamers ar talking about pre stack 100 quests, to buy the trash rested xp to lvl faster, and at same time u guys complain the lvl should provide fun and expirience gaming, that is so contradictory
For solo players, rune quests are just annoying. We should just get the new abilities at a specific level
I stopped playing official server wow, because they clearly dont want to get rid of bots. Private server without bots are my new place.

I agree with most of your reasons for not playing p4. I have no vested interest because I'm not making content, so there's no reason to waste money on a sub. I don't agree with your opinions class balance, though. Coming from an spriest I'm OK with doing less damage if I am actually necessary for the other classes to preform. But if mana from VT and healing from VE aren't necessary for the success of the group then it's pointless because we will just end up stacking warriors or melee dps....again.
I just can't get behind retail at this point. The game has too many layers for me to even bother.
Developer hubris. The original vanilla developers are long gone and the current roster has no idea of what made vanilla wow classic. We wanted some minor spec tweaks for viability a long with new end game content. Not retail minus.

Im basically at the same point. Phase 3 was awful. Killed so many guilds. Mine included. Nuke the economy. Im leveling casually right now but the motivation to play the game isnt there anymore. Id rather go play Turtle WoW.

"All you do is grind gold" yeah thats why I have every class at max level, my main is nearly full bis and 95+ parses, I even have 2x mages and 3x druids at max level.
In Phase 1 I raided every reset on 10 characters. I had every rune on every class.
The only aspect of the gane I don't actively play is the PvP aspect.
But yeah, all I do is grind gold.

I left Season of Discovery in Season 2. The Emphasis on PvP drove me out. I'm playing on one of the old Classic servers, its not perfect, they have corrupted it with crap from SoD and Cataclysm this week and it may eventually make me walk away entirely but for now thats where I am because of the friends I have there.
i get all the hate that sod is gettting, but people are forgetting it is a SEASONAL server, they are supposed to try out new things, to maybe put into the game when classic + is coming, that is why sod would never be a game i put any focus into, but ofc blizzard has missed on alot of the content they created for it

If a class that brings utility do most damage there is big 0 reason to bring warrior or rogue lets say who expect their damage bring nothing. We had this in phase 2 of SOD where I had a big issue to get raid spot in pug as an warrior who was geared with purple logs and on my freshly dinged 40 shadowpriest I wrote to the world chat shadow LFG gnomer shadow and got 7 whispers if I want to join or you can be naked feral and you will get that raid spot for wild strikes. But I hard agree with other reasons that got an big issues. I will still play SOD only reason that this is seasonal and they should test everything. But if they will ever release classic plus with 80% of the things they did in SoD I won't play it.

I would have no problem with SoD if its development didn’t take time away from Cataclysm Classic (presumably even Mop classic). We got Cata released in the state it was because so much time was wasted on SoD. The devs chose to believe the moronic Redditors/vanilla andies that thought Cata would be doa. Instead it destroyed SoD and people realized it’s actually a great expansion. Now we have P4 which is the same crappy vanilla raids that we did to death in 2019 and we are waiting on that to go away to get Zg/Za/Firelands
Even though im an active subscriber. Its so disttasteful what theyve done with sod. The amount of money classic rakes in, and they cant even give us new raids and dungeons. Just rehashed garbage. The only thing stopoing me from playing turtle is the crappy old client and the ping since im in the states.
SOD was always retail-lite. It felt like they were trying to bait people into retail with the goal to merge retail and SOD to make it easier for them

I just unsub all together, the current announcements is just not enough for me to invest any time in SOD. I tried MOP remix its fun and all and maybe I will play retail if my friends start playing it but for the most part I am just disappointed with SOD. As a community we just overhyped that this was the lead up to classic plus but instead we just got retail minus.
Sounds like you need to touch some grass, there are more complaint videos than gold making nowadays, it's really okay to take a break :)

It is understandable that you are burned out. You are spending way too much time and energy on SOD. If you look at what they added, it clearly wasn’t intended to be no-lifed as a full-time job the way you have been treating it. Just take it slowly and do a casual Scholomance or two every day. Maybe a MC a week. It’s fun if you treat it is as a Season of Dads.

If u think we will ever get classic+ youre wrong. It would require hiring a big team that keeps bringing new content and the risk of it failing is to big for blizzard to invest big money. SoM died before MC. SoD died before MC, why invest money in such a big risk? Lmao
Sadly Dragonflight and The War Within look so damn boring and generic and Cataclysm Classic is a boring mess after launch week.
Im not as hyped for P4 as i was for P2 or P3 of SoD, but its still the best mode that you can play atm imho.

I do not get the “Retail Lite” comparisons at all, as someone who has played retail as their main game for many years. There are no similarities between SoD and Retail.
The reason we have faster experience and spells that don’t belong in Vanilla is because it’s not Vanilla. If you want that, that’s fine but that’s what Era is for.
SoD is just a fun, temporary and experimental game mode that ultimately has an expiration date. I’m just happy that the devs are trying stuff and figuring out what does and doesn’t work.
You have to understand, classic players hate retail and anything they feel is "bad" they just correlate that to retail
@@mikeyhall8971 Yeah, some do. I don’t think he hates retail since he wants to play TWW but I think many of them have a wrong idea of what “retail” is.
In reality, yes; retail starts for most people at max level but the experience is totally different - especially the leveling. Most of the time you are leveling in Chromie Time via questing/dungeons then at max level you do current content world quests for gear and big exp. Or you wait until Timewalking weeks and spam dungeons. There’s a lot of variety in ways to level.

I'm glad some people still enjoy it, and I did too in s1, but it was all downhill after all that, and the vague blanket dismissal of any criticism is just as nonsensical as labeling everything bad as retail. The numbers clearly show SoD was a hit at first, and then quickly flopped. The reasons are up for debate (zero class identity, incursions, metas, bots, i could go on) but still...not good man.
