I get why old Tiger Moths need to do wheeler landings to keep them safe and in one piece, however when I learnt to fly DH 82s in 1957 in Melbourne Australia, we all did 3 point landings except on windy days.

I did my initial flying training on Tiger Moths back in 1958 at Biggin Hill. Beautiful summer that year. Flying over the south counties was a real joy, Now hoping to go full circle in October having hired a Moth for some more dual.

Wonderful so is control stick on a tiger moth one that moves easily? I mean how much force is needed to turn the aircraft?

I wish I could go back to 1942 and watch all the Tiger Moths and Stearmans flying out of #32 EFTS Bowden here in Alberta. Lots of stories of those days from the older folks .

Top aircraft. I owned one. But
    1) brave pilot who swings prop WITHOUT chocks (particularly with a pax onboard) and
    2) Brave pilot who allows front seat pax a long scarf that can (and has) switched OFF the rear magneto switches.
    Safe flying.

I never swung the Prop from in front & I could reach the Magneto switches easily.

I love those orange trousers! I had a flight in one of these Tiger Moths in April as can be seen on my RUclips channel. We did two loops and one stall turn. it was an amazing experience. I have since done an aerobatic wing walk again with loops and stall turns atop a 1940's Boeing Stearman!

Are, the first aircraft I ever flew & instructed on them before I went on to DC3's.
BTW We never had a tow bar so you lifted the tailplane strut & they balanced & you simply pushed them out of the hanger.

The Tiger Moth needs controllable slots on the top wing to get the best out of it. Wheel on landings are for girls.Internal ASI essentional. The Tiger is proned to flat spinning with two POB and make sure the boot is empty Good for 15kts cross wind if you know how to fly the dreaded DH82A. retired crop duster.

The DH82A Tiger Moth is a very workable aircraft. In to-days world the average pilot attraced to this really needs, even if he has a PPL licence or a CPL to get some very serious training from not the latest new age instructor, But a veteran who knows what Tiger Moths don't do. I operated one for many years as a (working aircraft) and providing you get the right training they are a very practiable aircraft. HOWEVER, if you didn't do spinning in your licence training, you really will have to get training on spinning to make sure your safe. A C150 Cessna is a very practicle spinning aircraft. It's spin is very similar to the DH82A.The DH82A lacks brakes and to fit them cost thousands because the landing gear needs moving forward 150 m.m. If your lucky enough to have Auster training and can fly one, then its easy. The DH82 TIger is a harder aircraft to fly then an Auster. Both aircraft will really bit you if you don't watch what your doing. iN short the basic start is you have to fly a Tiger with the ball in the center ALL THE TIME. Its a very good spinning aircraft but if you have slots, and I wouldnt operate a TIger with out full controlled slots.
