S Club confirm Hannah Spearritt has quit reunion tour after Paul Cattermole’s death

- Hannah Spearritt will not be joining S Club 7 on their reunion tour.
The pop group confirmed their shows will be going ahead following the death of member Paul Cattermole last month.
However, Spearritt won’t be joining them.
“You’ve probably noticed that there’s only five of us here today, and although Hannah will always be part of S Club 7 she won’t be joining us on this tour,” Jon Lee said in a video shared on Sunday 15 May.
“We wish her all the best for the future. However, the five of us are really excited and geared up."

As a huge loyal self proclaimed S Club 7 fan, Paul’s death really broke my heart and my whole world was turned upside down as S Club 7 were very very special to me, I was really geared up to seeing them live again this October for their 2nd reunion tour in Manchester and had tickets booked, it would be the 2nd time seeing S Club 7 live after seeing them do their first reunion tour back 2015.
But I am happy with the announcement that Jo, Bradley, Rachel, Jon and Tina are gonna carry on with the next Reunion Tour as in ‘The Good Times Tour’ as a way for them to honour Paul’s memory, sad that Hannah isn’t participating for this one, but I fully understand her decision. I know in my heart they’ll do their very best and bravery to make the ‘The Good Times Tour’ a special one and honour Paul’s memory, think it’s what he would’ve wanted. He would’ve been disappointed if they pulled the plug.
I just can’t imagine how heartbroken and devastated Jo, Bradley, Rachel, Jon, Hannah and Tina all are after Paul’s passing, like they said Paul was a very special person to them as part of S Club 7 and the fact he was so well loved by many including me as their loyal loving fan. No one can ever replace Paul.
Even though Paul’s no longer with us, they’ll always be S Club 7 and I’ll keep on loving them for as long as I live, their music will continue to inspire me for generations yet to come and I’ll make sure their legacy will never die.

I was in shock when I heard that Paul has passed away and I was also shocked when I heard that Hannah had decided not to join the S club 7 tour possible she can’t cope with the loss of her former lover Paul
So as a result they’ve changed the name of the group instead it’s not S club 7 anymore it’s now 5 possibly there’s three girls Tina Jo and Rachel and 2 lads of Bradley and Jonathan they are all still going despite losing Paul who was the member of the group and Hannah had decided to quit at the last minute
😥 So , so sad... Paul will be missed and remembered. R.I.P
I met S Club 7 as a kid..i was a huge fan..all of them were beyond lovely. Paul was like a labrador puppy, all smiles and it made my day when he complimented a top i was wearing with sparkly stars on it. Very sorry for their loss rip Paul 😇

I don't see why it's shocking that his long-time girlfriend would feel it's too sad to do a Tour without him. All of the media attention is now on his death and it just seems exploitative.

@@davidfearis7335 Hannah had a longer and closer relationship with Paul than the others, so it will be harder for her. Concerts are temporary, the loss of Paul is not. Also, yes it's nice the tour's name has been changed in memory of him but I still think it would mean more if Paul's family or a charity were getting the money made from it rather than the bandmembers.
@@iluvlafferty They weren’t duly compensated for all the hard work they put in the early years. They should be able to make their money because they are working hard. Paul’s death is a tragedy but S Club 7 is forever.
@@coolerfactz Look, I was a huge fan of the band years ago, but this reunion is just cashing in on the past. They're doing it because other bands keep doing it. Also, if that's your honest opinion then they shouldn't be addressing Paul at all. Naming the tour after him drives the media interest of his death.

She's doing the healthy thing. Dealing with grief is more important than a Tour or any amount of money.
Hannah dated Paul for 6 years. Of course it's going to be too painful for her to be on stage, constantly reminded of the fact that he's not there. Naming a tour after one of his songs doesn't make everything okay.

@@krystalking3037 I loved the song 'Good Times' but it doesn't change my opinion on this. It's not a charity event. Hannah knew Paul the longest and she's clearly not comfortable doing it without him. People should respect that, not criticize her.

the little kid in me has not recovered from this tragedy. i kid yall not i just purchased s club 7 series a week before this happened. i just had s club 7 in my heart and i just wanted to revisit the episodes that really made me happy. my heart goes out to them and paul's family.

Il tour prevedeva solo date in uk. Se è cambiato qualcosa dopo, è un discorso differente. Fa piacere che abbiano scelto di proseguire comunque anche come omaggio
So sad personally after seeing this i don't know if its a good idea for them to go on tour after all in respect of Paul's family and Hannah not taking part in it because of her history with paul and going out for 6 year's cant imagine how hard it must be for her and totally can understand her reason to not take part in it but at the same time Paul's family could have asked the other 5 to do it in his memory in honour of him which is a lovely thing to do as s club 7 meant quite a lot to paul and he was eager to do that tour before he sadly passed in april may he RIP
Paul would certainly have wanted it to continue and for them to celebrate the 25th anniversary. It only started much later after his death. It's not like they went on tour a few days after his death and even if they did, the members have to know that themselves. Everyone processes grief differently, some faster than others, and it's not up to an outsider to decide how and for how long.

How did Paul die?
It's a mystery. He was found dead at his home. The coroner's verdict have just officially confirmed now that it was "natural causes" and are concluding their investigation.

I don't see how they can be excited with TWO members not being on the tour, the whole idea just needs to be dropped! It won't be the same without all of them, much like the last Spice Girls tour without Victoria. It's not meant to be and I'd much rather just hear more solo music from each of them.

They probably couldn't cancel the tour due to contracts and from them performing is a way for them to heal and honor their friends who they shared personal and professional success with.

Understandable, Hannah had to quit because Paul was not just a group member to her.... he was her first love.
As for the rest of the group, their management probably told them this the greatest time to have the tour to keep Paul's memory alive but we all know it's probably in their contracts.
People forget Hannah cheated on Paul with her co-star Andrew Lee Potts in Primeval back in 2006 then she cheated on her fiancee with Paul in 2015. She's not so innocent.

I would think that’s the last thing he wanted, given her popularity and her romantic history with Paul. Her absence from the tour will definitely hurt it in every kind of way.

I doubt it. If anything he probably tried to convince her this is what Paul would’ve wanted her to do.
Having 6 out of 7 would bring in more ticket sales than 5 outta 7. A manager earns more, the more his “product” sells. and let’s be real, in this industry, money is number one.

It doesn't mean that she's still in love with him. She could be, but it could also be that he was her first love, and after not speaking much for several years, they were on good terms again. Then, out of the blue, he dies. It's heartbreaking for all the members of S Club, but I'm sure it hits Hannah in a different way.
I think it would be hard for anyone with a heart. Your first love is always special and there will always be feelings there. But that doesn’t mean the feelings are sexual. It’s just a different type of caring and love towards them than towards somebody who’s just an average friend.

Ended on bad terms. He tries to add me on social media, i deny it. That part of my life is over. But i don’t want him to die, and if he did. I would take it very hard because there was a time in my life when he was the most important thing to me.

You've never heard of the band S Club 7? They were famous in the late 90s and early 00s. They're British, but they had a TV show set in America. Paul left the band the year before they split. He sadly passed away in April this year.
