Hakuho was so fiercely aggressive in this match. It looks like he had his strategy worked out from the beginning. A fake slap to the head with his left and then that forearm shiver with his right forearm. Then a series of unbelievably fast and powerful slaps to the head that stood Terunofuji straight up. Then, in his boldest move, going straight for the mawashi, showing he was willing to match the bigger Terunofuji strength for strength even at this late stage of his career. A great warrior from start to finish. This is the most memorable match I've ever seen.
Hakuho is such a savage. Out for over a year, still nursing an injury, and absolutely destroys Terunofuji in arguably Terunofuji's best basho ever. Simply the GOAT!
Hakuho os a joybto watch He has so many finishing moves.. The greatest Sumo wrestler who ever lived. I believe his Emperors Cup win of 45 will last forever as the nearest one now is no where near it.
Terunofuji probably expected henka.. then BOOM! The chery on top was the arm drag, probable dislocated shoulder. What a way to be bapizised as a Yokozuna. Now you can rest big boy, for you will not be demoted anytime soon ^^
Honestly don’t think so, as long as Teru can get one hand gripped on the Mawashi it’s usually over for anyone regardless of skill. But it was Hakuho’s outright legendary strength as well that didn’t allow Teru to go anywhere when he got that grip in the middle of the dohyo. The GOAT!
@@itstrivial1522 Nope, sorry, not at all. You must not pay attention to any Basho as of recently or simply Teru’s overall style. Also exactly what I stated , whenever he can get a firm grip or at least one hand on the mawashi it’s USUALLY over from that moment on, but not with the legendary Hakuho, with almost superhuman strength and skill to complement !!!!
@@angel_emc341 How are you supposed to do anything when you only have one grip on Hakuho's belt, while he already has his two hands controlling your belt? Why is Teru so dominant whenever he got one hand on the opponent's belt? It's because usually no one, except Hakuho, is able to get a double grip on Teru's belt. I know Hakuho is strong, but in this case it's because he's already in an advantageous position, so his strength can be a good weapon against Teru. Otherwise, Teru's strength is far better than Hakuho, and Hakuho would just be yeeted out of the ring.
Im fascinated by what Hakuho could have potentially accomplished in Judo. Imagine how a Hakuho vs Teddy Riner(Judo's GOAT) decade long rivalry would have played out 🤯 Also how would Hakuho's physique be different if he was geared towards Judo instead of Sumo
@@tatertots0046 ah yes, well he did had a rather soft muscular build in his younger days as a mongolian traditional wrestler if you know what i mean. He did mention in his interview in some other Mongolian tv show that no matter how much he trained his body couldn’t get a hard dense muscle as it was useful in his wrestling match for having such build
Not just online, the Sumo Association criticized him for excessive celebration and too much slapping, etc. But sheesh, if they don't like the slapping, just take it out. They don't allow it at the lower levels anyway. Personally I don't see anything wrong with his celebration other than a release of emotion given the pressure cooker he had been put in.

The Sumo Association doesn’t understand that people worldwide became fans of sumo because of him. They are a bunch of old hags that wants to remain small with their archaic tradition. I’m not against tradition but why do you have to show so much hate against the greatest sumo wrestler to have ever done it. Bet you if he was 100%, they wouldn’t.
I take the level of energy at his victory as a sign of how much respect he has for his opponent. This guy literally makes other Yokozuna's look like Ozeki's. When he expects to win he is stone cold, maybe a grunt. In this one, you can tell he was pumping himself up. He doesnt do that often, unless there is a real threat. So, while normally I hate celebrations and dances from people who act like they won the Superbowl when actually their team is losing by 20 and they have no chance of winning, in this case I understand and appreciate it. Hakuho actually won something, did it PERFECTLY, after being injured for a long time, and did it against another UNDEFEATED Yokozuna....DAMN its like he actually accomplished something. Let the man have a scream.

Terunofuji: "Huh? Wh-OWWWWWW"

Svaka čast Hakuho. Najveći u istoriji sumo rvanja. Vratio se posle povrede i osvojio turnir bez ijednog poraza. RESPEKT DO NEBA.
I'm saying I have never watched sumo all the way threw and now this fight was amazing
Can't lie I was hoping for a terun win but I'm still happy for hakuho! What a great basho this was
man the look on terunofuji's face had win all over it until hakuho slapped it off 😂 great match, feel bad for teruno with that fall tho 😭
Great victory by Hakuho
Hakuho is going to compete in September and hopefully in November as well. He does not have to win, I just happy to see him in the dohyo.
Hakomu idol... Stronger sumo..
The last dance of the GOAT ❤
Jamaican and a fan of this guy and sumo. All rise! Long live the King of the Ring Hakuho!

Go look at Raiden's record. Raiden was far more dominant. Raiden had 28 titles back when there were only 2 tournaments per year.

Hakuho always comes in with that right elbow to the face. Surprised it’s still a legal move.
Another delusional hater pretending as if Hakuho invented the move when the same technique has been in use in sumo for centuries 😂😂😂
In his prime he used it at every given chance, at some point even the JSA kinda told him to let it rest, that's how effective it was.

Hakuho was reprimanded many times for face slapping and his brutal MMA-style arm smashes to the heads of his opponents.
Yet, a lot of high ranked Sumo sees that a lot. Division 1 is packed full of face slaps, because of how efficient it is.
Nothing against the rules. Hakuho GOAT.
