None of the championships under Calhoun or Ollie were expected. Not even Hurley’s first was. Prior to last season, I used to always say they will always win when it was not expected. Anybody who says they expected a championship at the start of any of those seasons is lying. Last year was the first time I thought at the start of the season, despite all they lost, they could totally win it all again this year.
When Uconn has the best guards in the nation, they win the title. I know big men have played a huge part in UConn's success across the title teams, but Husky glory has always relied on having the best guard play. With that in mind, i think Big Hass, Solo, Mahaney, Nowell absolutely can end up being the best backcourt in the nation this year. Its loaded with talent and great attitudes.
Ummm wrong! 2004 Uconn knew we had a loaded talented team. Ok4s health issues early on slowed things a bit but when that team got rolling they were dominant. Before that tournament started some were calling it the Uconn invitational.
I don’t think that’ll Matter now. Have you heard him talk about the advantage he brings as a coach is his practice style. Can’t do that on at the pro level. I’m convinced he’s focused on being this era’s John Wooden
@LockedOnUConn I hope so and think as far as legacy goes, he can be a true legend and never die by going the Wooden route, but, he's a maniacal competitor, and you just know the youngest Hurley wants to show he can win at every level, especially for the hometown Knicks
I think this era of transactional roster turnover really suites Hurley, he seems to revel in it. As other teams get preseason attention by bringing in players with proven success. Hurley gets to feed off of the media doubt that comes from leaning into development and trusting unproven players. It's exciting to look forward knowing they'll be good, but not knowing how it will look exactly.

I agree I never expected the Boatwright Napier team to go far the tournament
I agree. 99 as a 18 yr old I had my expectations but you’re right. 04, I’d argue was semi expected cause of the talent

@@BlyGuyi know that's what I want to see
Lets all hope and pray Thibs takes the Knicks on many deep playoff runs, b/c i fear as soon as they can, the Knickerbockers are gonna go after Hurley
